"Third time returning guests"
We stayed at the Bel Air for the third time. We were there for two weeks over both the Christmas and New Years holidays. My father also joined us from Toronto for one week and this was his second visit. As in the past all our expectations were exceeded. Check in and check out with Brianna was a breeze. We had a wonderful Kool Lanis room with a divine jacuzzi tub complete with steps down to the pool area. The view from the tub was incredible! The beach loungers are very comfortable and the infinity pool is beautiful. Omar and Alex at the pool and beach always made sure we had cold drinks and hot food when we ordered it. Although the hotel is worn due to age and salt water it is extremely clean. Each day our room was made up with towel art and the mini fridge always well stocked. We had the all inclusive package and ate all three meals each day at the hotels restaurants for 14 days and were very satisfied with both the many menu choices and the quality of the food. Hector and Marvin gave us excellent service in the dining room. Everything we ordered was delicious. We can't wait to return for the 4th time!!
"Good Boutique Hotel"
We traveled here for our honeymoon. After the craziness of the wedding we found the Bel Air was a great place to relax. Our room was clean and comfortable and the bed was awesome. The view from our ocean-view room with balcony was great (an upgrade we got because it was our honeymoon). It overlooked the infinity pool which in turn overlooked the ocean. Whether from our room or pool side the view was spectacular. The hotel itself has a motif which is a mix of sandblasted white stone and white linen, with a few pieces of modern, red furniture as accents. It has an air of quiet sophistication. We were there on the all inclusive plan. This means we ate almost all of our meals at the in house restaurant. Although it is a single restaurant, they had separate menus for breakfast, lunch and supper with many different choices in each. The service was great. However, if we were to stay there again, we would probably choose the European plan which would encourage us check out more of the restaurants along the resort strip (easily accessible via buses which run with an amazingly high frequency)
"VERY RELAXING - TREATED LIKE FAMILY"
Right from the grand stairway entrance to the wonderful lobby - Wow! I guess it is all in what your expectations are. Our first trip to Mexico and first all inclusive so can't compare but we had a fantastic time. We had a beautiful room with the most comfortable king size bed, the view from our balcony was of the infinity pool right into the ocean. Loved the staff..from Ericka's smiling face in the restaurant to Mario's magic tricks at the lobby bar. Treated like royal family by Hector, Daniel, Angel, Paty, Marvin, Russo, Omar and Eduardo. Pedro looked after our room and we came in to a new animal every day that he made by folding the towels. Fresh squeezed juice every morning to the sweet treats in the evening. A smaller resort than some we saw but more intimate and we made so many new friends...we will be back.
"All-inclusive is the way to go at this quirky, quiet, convenient resort."
My wife and I recently stayed at the Bel-Air for nearly a week during our Thanksgiving break. A lot of reviews are mixed, but overall, we found it to be a very nice experience. A lot of reviews mention the all-inclusive meal option. Simply put, the same staff serves three different menus, served at different parts of the day. We loved being able to have sushi more than once during the week, but when we were tired of it, there was also Mediterranean food to try. I actually consider myself kind of a picky eater, but I don't think there was anything that I tried from any of Bel-Air's menus that wasn't delicious. Other things we loved: The staff was not only helpful and kind, but goes out of its way to collectively listen to the needs of its clientele. I am impressed by the number of accents and dialects it contended with from all over the world. At one point, a staff member even let us quickly borrow a CD that we kept hearing and had enjoyed so we could copy it to our laptop. It is now a permanent auditory reminder of the fun we had. Exchanging money was also easy and inexpensive at Bel-Air. Parts of the resort are open-air, including the lobby, and the view of the ocean from the back steps was simply breathtaking. We also enjoyed floating around in the pool; depending on the time of day, both the pool and the jacuzzi (complete with drinks bar!) were warmer than others, so it's a good idea to dawdle on the beach a bit first and then hang out poolside after you wash the sand off. Our room was clean, all-white and expansive, and everything in it worked; we particularly loved the heart-shaped strobe light that got turned on in the evenings. We received turn-down service a couple of times during the week; it is one of the quirks of the Bel-Air that the cleaning crew came at varying times - sometimes, the wait time at the restaurants/drink bar differed, too - with cute little cakes. We were also supplied with complementary drinks in our mini-fridge, and bottled water in the bathroom to brush our teeth. We used the free bottles of shampoo to wash our delicates out in the sink, and were able to dry them throughout the week on a clothesline hanging above the shower. Towels were reused, the hotel told us by way of a flier in the bathroom, but they always seemed cleaned and neatly folded when housekeeping took care of our room. The hotel is always being improved and renovated; when we were there, we watched the staff complete the building of a water wall backdropping a glass floor with water running underneath it, which became the sushi restaurant dining area. In addition, the resort is at the far end of the hotel zone and on the bus line besides, so we were both able to go off on our own with ease, and when we went on a couple of day trips, we got dropped off first when they were over. Reading up on shopping plazas was helpful - a lot of travelers warned against Mercado/Market 28 due to the aggressive selling that takes place there, and we're not big luxury shoppers, so we opted for La Isla. Regarding day trips, all of the agents at Next Day Travel were helpful, friendly, and went out of their way to be available. The night before our final day in Cancun, we decided we wanted to book a trip to Chichen Itza to see the Mayan ruins, and were able to get in touch easily with a rep who was even still hanging around the hotel at around 5-6 PM. NDT also took care of our airport travel vouchers; when Expedia's information conflicted with our actual flight times with United, requiring yet another late-night contact with NDT, we had no trouble making new arrangements. The result was an incomparable experience all around.
"Wow!"
We just got back and what a place. The people are great that work there EVEN IF YOU DO ALL INCLUSIVE GO GET 50 OR 100 BUCKS IN ONES AND TIP 2 OR THREE DOLLARS AFTER THE MEALS. Goes a long way they only make 5 bucks a day. The room was nice bed great and views were good we stayed beach front. Very international crowd which was really nice everyone for the most part keep to themselves but very nice. So if you want to spark that fire again PERFECT!! breakfest great lunch was very good two menus SNACKS as the call it by the pool very good on the 4 th day we discovered they had a diffrent menu inside very good. The dinner was ok not great not bad we ate across the street one night and wow. I am a food guy and my wife is very picky and we had no problem with dinner. My background i have traveled the carribean and stayed at many 4 and 5 star places. My star ranking for this place would be a close 4. If you want to relax and have a wonderful romantic time 5 stars. So if u wan to party hard do not stay here if you want to light that fire and talk to the other guest only if you want then yes yes yes. The staff was amazing remeber tips and the top shelf liqour was great. I hope this helps what a Gem! O yeah my wife would get mad if i did not say how clean it was they cleaned all the time
"The Best Choice"
Last month about 20 of us went to Cancun for my friends wedding. We all stayed at the Bel Air Collection Hotel. It was the best time I ever had. They were so accommodating to our large group and really helpful. The rooms are really nice and clean. The pool is beautiful and the restaurants are very good. The wedding took place at the hotel and it was very well done. As a bonus, it is located only 10 minutes from the airport, which was really convenient. The bars are a bit further north, however it was great not hearing people at all hours of the night. I would really really recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Cancun!
"Beautiful & Cozy"
We arrived in Riviera Maya after 2 days in Honduras jungle and walked into a completely different world. The hotels lounge style with white curtains everywhere a beautiful courtyard where the reception is placed, almost sweped our feet. We had booked a "kool jacuzzi" room and when we entered this, we knew that we had made the right choice. A double jacuzzi, king size bed, a terrace overlooking the infinity edge pool and complimentary champagne in the room. The staff was polite and very informative, the food was great and tasteful, there was free tea, coffe and sweets in the lobby from morning to evening and free champagne at 7 PM. Furthermore they offer free highspeed wireless internet access. We really enjoyed the beautiful beach, although it was very windy, and had a very nice stay at Bel Air. Thank you Bel Air for making our last 2 days in our 3 week vacation in Central America unforgettable. A little warning for other travellers: watch out for the "Green Line shuttle" going from the airport to the different hotels in the area. They charged us $15 per person for taking us to the hotel but a taxi only cost $23.
"We were treated like royalty!"
This is the type of resort you would want to visit if you and your significant other really want to rekindle or fall in love all over again. Its a very romantic atmosphere with the freedom to do and go about as you wish. We were always greeted with smiles and the service was impeccable. We had the All Inclusive package and from the door men to the concierges, bartenders all the way to the chief catered to our every need. Yes! we absolutely recommend the Bel Air Resort Collections.
"THE BEST PLACE TO BE IS BELAIR!"
I and few other family members just went on a mini vacation. Before going, I read all the review and was very upset and disappointed, but when we got there we were so happy. As someone mentioned before we had a Belboy David & Gilberto!!! Awesome people. The representatives were very nice. The Food was very good dessert was good. Best thing no kids, more adult friendly. It was definitely worth the money. I would definitely go again. The rooms were very nice, they clean twice a day, the bathrooms are very nice. You can go for yourself and check it out! I think it was awesome. Thank you BelAir!
"We are loving it!!"
We are currently staying at the hotel and are so satisfied that we felt we had to write a review before we forgot or put it off. First of all, when we arrived our room wasn't available buut we were offered another room with the compensation of a spa treatment or dinner. We were so happy with the room that we asked to stay there and use the difference towards the all inclusive package, which they agreed to. I really can't say enough good things about the hotel. When I walked into the "lobby"( there really isn't a front desk, just a few clean, simple glass desks along the wall beside an outside courtyard) I literally let out a relaxing sigh. The courtyard is surrounded in gauzy, flowing white curtains with green and red lighting. the clerk (Eduardo) was very nice and welcoming. Everything is decorated in white with little splashes of red. We were very happy with our room, although I was uncertain as to how cozy the all white room would feel, but we really liked it, very clean-feeling. The food is very good, above-average, and the room is cleaned beyond our expectations, even arranging our flip-flops for us. The pool area and beach area are amazing, with the softest beach chars you can imagine. The important thing I want to emphasize is the quality of the staff. Everyone, literally everyone is wonderful. The pool bartender (I want to post names, and will later) is very friendly, and it is important to him that you are happy with the drink. The drinks definitely contain alcohol! The waiters try very hard to please you as well. You always receive a call from room service to be sure that everything is satisfactory. Really, it has been a very, very pleasant experience. I've seen a few negative reviews and can only imagine that perhaps some people don't realize that the ocean air is very destructive. Having lived on the ocean front in Hawaii, I speak of this first hand. My metal furniture quickly rusted and mildew is quick to form. I didn't encounter any of this in our room, so i would thnk that the hotel works hard to counteract it. If I were pressed to make a negative comment, I would say that I wished that the pool bar offered snacks before one pm. Perhaps just chips and salsa and guacamole. That is the only negative comment I have. The water and beach is stunning, the pool area, rooms, restaurant are wonderful, and, above all, the staff is amazing. Very, very satisfied!! (I will add photos later, dfficult from my iPad, oh, btw, free wifi!)
"WE GOT WHAT WE PAID FOR"
The moment the shuttle from the airport picked up us we fell in love. The gentlemen at the airport that was waiting for us, not only had a smile on his face and spoke great English. Once arriving to the Bel Air Resort we were welcomed with a glass of Champaigne and the bel boy(David) took are bags straight inside and had them waiting for after we checked in. The lobby of the resort was big and spacious with a great bar and kind staff along with free WIFI that you could use when in the lobby. As we went to are room many of the guests and staff welcomed us with a bienvenidos(welcome). Once we got to out room, it was anything and everything we could imagine. It was spacious, romantic, and very comfortable. We had a king size bed with a pull-out bed and a Jacuzzi in the room that all worked great. The cleaning staff was great and had our room looking spotless everytime we walked in. The restroom had what a restroom would have a toilet, shower, hair dryer but the one thing me and my wife loved is that the shower was big enough for the both of us. The safe was great cause we didnt have to worry about what to put it and what to leave out because it was big enough for all our personal belongings. The All Incluive was great with alcholic and non-alcholic drinks and all the food. The Drinks were strong enough, and the food was great. There is only one resturant but they exceeded our expections there with great service, great food and freindly staff. Our first day at the pool we had towels brought to us so we didnt have to worry about briging ours from the room or having to go look for any. There is no swim up bar but there is a jacuzzi bar which was great with a frienly bartender who loved to mingle and have fun with us. The Beach was wonderful we had private access to the beach anytime of the day with waiters that catered to us. The beautiful white sand and crystal clear Caribbean sea went perfect with our cocktails. They had numerous amount of activities like beach volleyball, snorkling, kayaking and the option to go parasailing at a discounted rate, seeing how they dont offer it dirrectly threw the resort. OVERALLL this was a great resort and we couldnt have asked for anything better. We plan on returing in the near future with friends and family. I suggest this resort to any couples that want to get away and have a fun time.
"amazing!!!!!!!"
Beautiful the staff is so nice, helpful, perfectly bilingual. The place is classy and clean, nice pool and small private beach front. great food, cute open lounge area very modern.they offer nice little treats in room like champagne and cheese and chocolates ,free internet we had a huge king bed and jacuzzi in room the bed is so comfortable and they offer very kind of pillow i recommend to anyone who wants a romantic or peaceful vacation !!!!!
"Best Food, Friendliest Staff, A Great Price"
I want to thank the staff of Bel-Air Collection Cancun for making my visit to Cancun a very pleasurable experience. This may not be a 5 star hotel, but they treat you like it is. It's simple Mexican Elegance with class. The food is off the hook, we tried almost every item on the menu and it was superb. The staff is exceptionally welcoming, firendly and always willing to share a laugh. I spent most of my time while at hotel down by the pool and the swim up bar jacuzzi. These are the folks that stood out to me because they were in contact and helped me along while on vacation for 2 weeks at Bel-Air. First the Patron-Eliseo, very nice man-will take care of any requests, Carlos-Capitan, nice fellow, always smiling, working, making sure your stay is going well. In no order specifically these folks were exceptional. Maricela, Ysenia, Juan, Baltizar, Gilberto Karen, the entire lobby staff. Julio. Lorenzo, Othono, Angel, Patty, Mary-my cleaning lady, very sweet. Alma, If I have missed someone, let me say I did not run into any attitude on my stay, only grace from the entire staff. Gustavo Zozaya
"We LOVED it!"
We had an amazing time here, we wanted to have a romantic trip where we could relax and enjoy of beautiful Cancun. This place is PERFECT for that! It is a small hotel which makes it really nice and private, the attention is so personalized and they make you feel like family! Karina was amazing and really helpful just like the rest of the staff. You deff need to go to the spa and get a massage and a facial, it is a MUST! If we ever go to Cancun again we will make sure to stay at Bel-Air!
"MANY THANKS"
Very good for middle-aged couple for relaxing. Great room with the view over the see. The staff was super - Carlos in the restaurant and Brenda at the front desk. The staff at the swimming pool was super also - drinks, meel outside. Thanks for the romantic dinner too - me and my wife we had both the birthday in the same date.
"The greatest service"
I recently stayed at "Bel Air Resorts and Spa" in Riviera Maya and had a wonderful experience. It was my first time there and I wasn't sure what to expect, but was most pleasantly surprised. I have traveled extensively but have to say that the service at Bel Air beats any prior experience that I have had. The staff could not do enough to make us feel like we were their absolute top priority. At the front desk, Dayen, Brianda, Karen and Jorge were all extremely attentive to our every need and wish, no matter what they were. At the pool bar both Baltazar and Marisela anticipated what we wanted before we even had time to articulate it, improvising cocktails if we requested something unique, always jovial and extremely friendly, as we relaxed in the hot tub by the pool bar. The intimate feel of this hotel made all the difference in our experience. In addition to the superior service, its location towards the end of the hotel zone strip made it much more quiet than most of the other hotels in the middle of the busier section of the Cancun hotel zone. We could enjoy the quiet while still being just as accessible to everything. The decor was tasteful in its delicate simplicity with a white theme that, next to the blue ocean, reminded me of the Greek islands- a serene white and blue. For me, this decor had great appeal and contrasted with the business and sometimes exaggerated decor of some of the other resorts. It provided a calm and pleasant setting to enjoy the ocean and relax. The food at the Bel Air restaurants was very good and there were plenty of choices on the menus. This resort is a very good value, and excelled in service. Thank you to all the staff, the ones whose names I remembered and mentioned here and the ones whose names I don't remember, but who all made our vacation so special. I cannot wait to go back!
"We love this hotel!"
My husband and I loved this place! The food is excellent, the view is fantastic and it is just a great atmosphere in general with great service. If you have a chance get a massage. The spa is awesome!
"Fantastic Value Getaway at Bel Air"
My wife and I just returned from a recent all-inclusive stay here and I can honestly say we cannot wait to come back! We were celebrating my wife's birthday and the staff had the room decorated with rose petals, a cake, and a bottle of wine upon arrival (thank you Samuel and Andrea!). The hotel was at the far south end of the hotel zone but was still a short cab ride to shopping and entertainment...while still being away from the crowds and hustle. This place was uncrowded and the service level from the staff was awesome. We had great service on the beach for both drinks and lunch, served by Yese and Marisela, and the bartenders, Juan and Baltazar really made us feel welcome. We stayed our last 2 nights at the Ritz and the straight truth is that our service was just as good at Bel Air, and actually more attentive, and was a LOT better value. The food was really good, and we had no problem with seating of our choice for dinner, or on the beach, or at the pool. The food was good, the service attentive, and the price...a fantastic value. This place is a hidden gem that is in the process of a full renovation--it'll ultimately be a larger resort, and we are counting the days until we return--THANK YOU Bel Air Cancun for treating us like royalty during our stay!
"Excellent Hotel!"
Bel Air is a beautiful hotel with very good rooms and service.I am an Indian also in the business of travel and tours.I will definitely recommend and promote Bel air hotel to Indian travellers when they visit Cancun. And I want to especially add that the staff is helpful particularly Yoselyn who is at the guest relations is a wonderful polite and helpful person. She is great at public relations and will do very well in her career because of her helpful attitude .she very efficiently handled my problems and guided us well which really helped us on our holiday in Cancun. Thank u Yoselyn and thank u Bel Air.
"Don't let this pass you by."
My sister and I celebrated our 50th birthday here. We arrived on May 17th for 6 days. This was by far the best vacation I've had. Every staff member was professional and courteous. Each time we asked for anything, a staff member contacted us either in person or phone, and it was given to us. The room was beautiful (ocean view). The waiters and waitresses (dining area or pool) were right on top of things. Waiters very polite. We had our birthday dinner on the beach. It was set-up very nicely. The food is 5-star quality. Oh, and the wine!! Yummy!! We went on two excursions - and both were a great time!! We were offered shuttle service to the airport. I felt like we were generously accepted, and their staff purpose was to ensure we have a great time. I like to give a big "THANK YOU" to Brianda (hope that is spelled correctly). What a smile!! Thank you for "looking after us and taking care of things".
