We just finished a week vacation at the Grand Sirenis. We booked through BookVIP and I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the entire trip, all the way from booking through the conclusion of the trip. We got a phenomenal deal and had an excellent trip!

What Our Customers Are Saying

Written Review

"Wonderful!"
This was wonderful! We stayed for two weeks and loved it! The beach was beautiful. Went walking each day and enjoyed it so much! There are no close neighboring properties, so there is not a lot of traffic at all. Most mornings it was just me and one of my kids out. (Bonus, we got to see two little crabs walking along the sand!) The resort is well maintained and all of the staff speak English well. I do not expect every staff member to speak a language different from his own nation's- so this is a HUGE bonus. The marketplace had many organic items and gluten-free items as well! Excellent!!!! The photographers are amazing- and they will take pictures of your family for free- you just buy the ones you like. SO GREAT! There are a lot of different activities. The kids enjoyed painting tee-shirts, and there were yoga, Zumba, and aerobics classes too. Something for everyone! My husband and kids loved the kayaking the best. The water was beautiful, the beaches were gorgeous, it was so great!
"what a great time"
This resort is a top shelf resort, from the check in staff to the waiters and bartenders everybody makes you feel welcome. i recommend getting an all inclusive pass because the food and drinks are outstanding and you can easily spend a couple hundred a day if you don't have an all inclusive, if you don't want to get all inclusive they have a day pass that starts at 11 am and goes untill 5 pm it only cost's 23.50 well worth it
"Wonderful Vacation Place"
I would recommend this place to anyone! The buffet has great food unlike many of the all inclusives. There is one separate restaurant, but if your wearing a wrist band indicating you are all inclusive you may never get in. They tend to take the time share owners first. When we tried to make reservations they would say they are full well into the week. And they want 24 hour advance booking at the restaurant. They will also tell you that you can not book out past 24 hours. We did eat there one night because someone else a time share owner booked it in for us....so that tells me something. They try to run everyone through the buffet. As it is more cost effective. That's my point of view. Other than that, the complete facility is 4.9 out of 5. Would highly recommend. The staff is absolutely great caring people.
"Great resort for families with young children!"
We stayed at the Royal Haciendas the first week of March with our son (5 yrs) and daughte (9 yrs). We booked this resort after searching for an affordable all-inclusive option in the Cancun/Playa area. I was nervous traveling to Mexico with young children for fear of them getting sick from the food/water. I am happy to say neither was an issue staying at the Royal Haciendas. This resort exceeded our expectations in every way possible. From moment we arrived we were welcomed and encouraged to use the facilities or grab some lunch while we waited for our room to be ready. We arrived on a Saturday so we did not have to deal with any room switching mid-stay. Our suite was on the second floor over-looking the second phase side of the resort. We could see a small part of the ocean from our room, but the pool view was excellent as well. We liked that it was centrally located to all the pools and very close to the lobby bar which was great for running down to get a morning coffee. Our suite was fantastic. The kids got a kick out of the Murphy beds as well as the hot-tub on our balcony. We didn't need to utilize the full kitchen much except when we wanted to wash our thermal mugs we brought from home. We spent much of our time in the pools as that was what our children wanted to do. We appreciated the great service by the pool bartenders and wait staff. We ate most of our lunches at the pool-side grills and our breakfasts/dinners at the buffet, Palapa de Sol. You couldn't beat the view from this beach-side restaurant. The resort wasn't overly busy the week we were there, as I think we were just ahead of the main spring break weeks. However, I would guess this is a quiet resort at most times of the year. Much of the crowd was either of retirement age or families with young children. This probably wouldn't be a great choice if you're looking for a young adult crowd. They have daily planned activities near the pool and activity center, but nothing is intrusive or bothersome if you aren't interested in joining in. Our kids did participate in a few of the kid center activities. We also utilized the kid's pizza/movie night for $5 so that we could have an adult only dinner at the Los Morelas (fine dining-reservation required) restaurant on site. I'm so glad we did, as this restaurant would not have been appropriate for our age kids nor would they have liked the food. We however LOVED it! I was also very impressed by the quality and choices that the room service offered. We took advantage of this a few nights and one morning for breakfast. That was another nice perk the the all-inclusive package offered us. We were only asked once to attend a time-share presentation. We declined without much question from the staff (which we appreciated). I would recommend taking a cab down to Playa for an afternoon if you are looking for cheap souveniers, shopping, even massages, or because you just need to get off the resort for a little change of scenery. You could walk but it would be at least 45 minutes one way and I wouldn't want to be walking through some of the neighborhoods we saw with young children.
"Perfect Vacation for Families"
My wife, four other adults and our 15 month old granddaughter just returned from an enjoyable stay at The Royal Haciendas. We had a really fun time during our 6 day stay at the hotel. The room was on the 2nd floor in the "F" wing and was comfortable for all of us. We had a balcony with an amazing ocean view. The room also had a Jacuzzi on the balcony but we never used it. The hotel is conveniently located close to Playa Del Carmen, so we were able to spend part of a day shopping and exploring. The staff was super friendly, especially the bartenders at the swimming pool. There were pools for all ages, with plenty of seating and all were very well kept. It was a pleasant surprise not to have to get up at the crack of dawn to save a poolside seat as there were always open chairs. The all-inclusive deal was really worth it. The food was above average for an all inclusive, and the drinks were excellent. We ate at all the restaurants and had pleasurable experiences at all. We also took advantage of the room service menu that was actually very good. We had to change rooms on Saturday, but the hotel took care of everything, so it was not inconvenient at all. We will definitely be back.
"Staff and fishing"
The fishing was great with the Rusty Hook. 4 mai mai. The staff friendly. Not a big party place but always can run into town for that. Food very good. The boat captian and mate friendly and talkative.

"Perfect relaxation!"
My wife and I spent a week here and thoroughly relaxed. It's a great place for all ages, and they make a point of keeping the noise down. The only thing lacking was a place for families to toss balls in the pool and use water toys. These toys can only be used in the baby pool. We were alone, so it didn't matter to us, but if our kids and grandkids would have been there, they would have been disappointed. Very clean, super service! We personally do not like to do all inclusive, and you don't have to unless you exchanged through a company like Interval International. In that case, the all-inclusive is mandatory.
"Perfect resort for families with young children"
My husband and I brought our 18-month old to this resort and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Here are a few of the highlights: 1) Resort size/layout - we decided we wanted a smaller resort so we wouldn't have to bring our stroller everywhere. We found this resort to be perfect - everything was within a 5 minute walk from our room. The layout is perfectly spread out so even though the resort was full, it never felt crowded. 2) The food was excellent. We ate mainly at the buffet restaurant and when we couldn't find an option for our toddler to eat, there was a great kid's menu to order from. 3) There are 6 pools to use, and 4 of them have wading areas for the kids! The two "children's pools" were always quiet - perfect for toddlers! 4) The resort is basically silent by 9pm - perfect for sleeping kids! 5) The staff was excellent, the resort was immaculate, and the service was awesome!
"Wonderful Relaxing Quiet Indulgence in Paradise"
After over a dozen trips to Cancun I decided to explore Playa Del Carmen and enjoyed a fantastic week under the sun. The resort was excellent with 4 or 5 restaurants and poolside bars over an expansive design with lush foliage. If you have children there were facilities and separate pools for them to enjoy. NO CROWDS on the beach with peddlers and such. Waves were much calmer than Cancun and beaches very walkable. I felt extremely comfortable and safe on the hotel grounds as well as the beach area. The staff could not have been nicer. "Welcome home" was their greeting at the front door when arriving and that pleasant attitude persisted throughout the hotel. Going into the town of Playa Del Carmen as compared to Cancun was a 100% more delightful. The restaurants and shops were fantastic. Only negative is a Hotel shuttle or cab is required. Nothing beats taking the bus in Cancun. The town of Playa along 5th street was just full of people during the day and night with no hint of trouble. Already looking to go back and bring my grand children. Playa is low keyed and relaxing. Facilities are in excellent well kept condition. The WiFi was a little slow in the early morning hours. For the young people the clubs so I hear open at 11pm close at dawn. All in all as I said looking to go back without hesitation!!! BTW the private hot tub was great and the AC worked well
"Far better than I was expecting!"
We own Week 8 at the Royal Haciendas and haven't been able to travel here for a couple of years. I had been hearing horror stories about the All Inclusive packages the resort was offering to members and had become mandatory for guests other than members. As was explained, members used to fill up the resort to 80-85 percent capacity, which is high in the timeshare business; however, in 2008, when the economy took a tumble, Royal Resorts management had to make some changes. AI was added, and more non-member guests were recruited to bring up capacity. This past week, capacity was at 90 percent what with members and non-member guests. Upon arrival, I found that the grounds were absolutely gorgeous, so apparently the maintenance fees we pay are being put to good use. While some of the buildings are in need of painting, we found that painting is scheduled to begin in a few weeks. Our villa looked excellent, and I really didn't have any issues with it other than the guests staying in the villa above us filling their terrace tub too full and having it splash down on us and the two villas below us. I was happy to see that Security was on duty at the pool and beach this year making sure guests did not save chairs with towels then leave for sometimes hours at a time. In addition, kudos to the RH Security and bellmen. My husband lost his glasses in a taxi, and the staff was able to track down the driver and get them back the next day! What could have been a disaster turned out to be just a nuisance.
"Fantastic Hotel"
This hotel is fantastic, food to suit all tastes every night is themed plenty to choose from very good quality food, pools a plenty, children's pool big pool lap pool if that isn't enough you are right on the beach crisp white sand which doesn't get hot to walk on ideal for children, surf is quite strong at the moment so be careful although they have lifeguards,,please try this place you won't be dissapointed.
"Great resort and service"
We stayed at Royal Haciendas the last 2 weeks of February. Beautiful resort. We rented from an owner, so the AI was optional. When checking in, they didn't mention it at all, so I asked - AI is $69.00 for a minimum of 4 days. We opted to do it for 4 days to get a feel for it, and then decide if we wanted to continue. We preferred not doing the AI, so did that for the rest of our stay. Food was very good everywhere, but not alot of places to eat. We ate at the buffet for breakfast while on the AI, and ordered off the menu for lunch/supper. Service here was a little lacking though. Food/service at the poolside restaurants was great, and a nice menu. Room service was awesome - the food was always good, and arrived hot, always in 30 minutes or less. We were also quite impressed with the prices - very reasonable, and often my husband and I would share a meal, as the portions were large. We also shopped at the market onsite and was quite impressed with it there as well. Yes prices were a little higher than a grocery store, but the convenience was worth it, and they had a very nice selection of food. Aside from service being a little slow in the restaurant, service everywhere else was fantastic. We always tipped, and it was always appreciated, but I'm not sure it would have made a difference in the service. Front desk was always helpful, and I went there for change almost on a daily basis. The shuttle in to PDC was also a pleasant surprise. We used it daily to go to PDC, then would usually take a taxi back. Shuttle was 40 pesos per person, but there were 2 free shuttles at 5:30 and 6:30. The rooms were fantastic. We stayed in a one bedroom in the D section, so had an ocean view, and there was so much space. Very nice kitchen with everything you need to do some cooking, a large bedroom and a large bathroom with an awesome shower. We found the mattress to be a little on the hard side, so requested a mattress pad, which made it much better. Any requests we had (mattress pad, extra blankets) were promptly brought to our room. And the patio was great - I loved the tub, two nice chairs to relax on, and then a table where we ate most of our breakfasts. The only thing lacking in the room were the tvs - old and not a great picture. The grounds have a fair amount of concrete, which would get very hot in the afternoon on warm days. Pools were great - big and heated, and pool chairs could always be found, although if you wanted a specific area (especially if you wanted an umbrella), you would have to get out there around 8-9 am. Beach also good, rocky on one side but swimable on the other. If it was a really nice day, chairs sometimes here were a little harder to find. Not alot of activities around the resort, which didn't bother us. We were in Phase 1, which was where the pool activities were, which would get a little loud in the afternoon. Aquasize was really popular here around lunchtime. There was also pool volleyball and beach volleyball going on. We really enjoyed this resort, it was probably the most relaxing vacation we've been on. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
"Royal Haciendas in Playa- Great photographer that sells jpegs!!!"
Our family- 2 parents and 2 boys- stayed at the Royal Haciendas in Feb 2015. I wanted to hire a professional photographer to do a photo shoot on their grounds & at the beach. Ocean Photography is located in the market, right next to the lobby- and they were fantastic!!! I do not know why the hotel does not advertise them. They take candids during your stay by walking around and taking photos of people on the beach and at the pool, but you can also book a private photo shoot. We did with Frank, and couldn't be happier! He spent 1 hour with us at sunset, and took amazing photos. He was open to our ideas and what we wanted (individual shots of the boys, etc.) and had wonderful ideas too. A day after the shoot, we came back to the market and looked at all of the shots. Your only commitment was to buy at least 10 pics for $13/each. We ended up buying 20+ because we loved them so much! He burned a copy of the jpegs onto a CD, and it was guaranteed for a month, in case you had problems downloading them. (We did not but it gave me peace of mind.) The photos are amazing- and my favorite keepsake of the trip. Wonderful job, Frank! We will be forever grateful :)
"The Royal Haciendas is a Great Resort"
The Royal Haciendas is truly our Home Away from Home. They know us by name when we arrive. Our Concierge handles everything for us and makes suggestions and reservations for us. Great Service! Very Clean! Great Food at the Los Moreles Restaurant and also at the La Palapa . They have activites throughout your stay that you can participate in. A Welcome Party when you arrive, A Cocktail Party on the Beach, A Taco Party, A show during the week and Entertainment in the La Palapa, Johnny Ross was a Fabulous singer and impersonated Tom Jones, Johhny Cash, Frank Sinatra, & more---Very good. We LOVE it at the Royal Haciendas. We come back every year.
"Wonderful Resort!"
We stayed 5 days in February 2015 and had a wonderful time. The resort/property/beach is very nice. Our room was very nice and clean. My only complaint with the room is that I booked and paid for an "ocean view" room, and you could barely see a little sliver of the ocean. Very disappointing. We had no problems getting a cabana on the beach. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Although we did notice that the staff who spoke the worst English were at the front desk...Speaking of the front desk...When you first arrive to the resort and check in they ask you to place $300 on your room. EVERYTHING is charged to your room. You cannot pay in cash or credit card for anything. It is all charged to your room. We booked 2 excursions the very first day so that wiped out our $300 then when we tried to buy some sunscreen in the hotel store they wouldn't let us pay the $10 for it in cash because they will only let you charge it to the room. We had to go back to the front desk and add more money to our account/credit card just to buy the dang sunscreen. We ran into this problem several times during our stay and it was a huge pain in the neck! Definitely the worst part about the service. Other than the inconvenience of having to go to the desk every time you wanted to purchase anything (that includes excursions, spa, transportation, anything in the store) we didn't have any other complaints with the resort. The food was wonderful.
"Had a great time!"
Beautiful well manicured grounds. The grounds are spotless, seriously. The Pools were very nice. If you have small kids there is a wading pool depth that is perfect. This is also a great place if you just want to relax poolside as it wasn't very busy. Have a lap pool (seems like this is where the 65+ crowd hung out), then the main pool. The main pool is very large and nice, but this is also where the bar is so there were a few "grown-ups" that had a little too much to drink in the Mexican sun and were a little out of control. Some people never grow up :). All and all the Poolside service was great and food there was good! We really love Mexico and love the people there!. They worked hard to make sure you are happy. Seen a few complaints about having to sign zero total checks with all-inclusive. This is so you can tip the people that are working so hard for you. Tip these people for crying out load. This is probably the majority of what they make. All Inclusive or not, you need to tip them! End of story.
"Great quality and value"
Stayed at the Royal Haciendas for a four day get-away with my sister about one eyer ago. Superb grounds, staff and location. The quality and selection of food is excellent and consistent. This resort is very well maintained and rooms are nicely updated. The Royal Haciendas is also well-managed, from our arrival to our departure everything was attended to in an organized and caring manner. The resort is also located close to Playa del Carmen and a short drive to Akumal, Tulum and Cancun. I would definitely return to The Royal Haciendas.
"Wonderful Christmas location"
Our stay at the Royal Haciendas couldn't have been better. The staff were exceedingly helpful, the room was outstanding, and very clean. Food was excellent, especially in Los Murales, where we ate four of our seven nights. Winds were fairly high during our visit the first week of December, so most days the "red flags" were flying at the beach, unfortunately, as I love to swim in the ocean. Surf was just too dangerous, though, and I appreciated their concern for guest safety. The pool was wonderful, as were the hot tubs, and I highly recommend the shrimp tacos at Los Lunas poolside grill. We would definitely consider a return trip and will recommend it to our friends!
"Loved more than expected!"
Loved the Royal Haciendas! Was a bit worried now that it is an all inclusive - but I've been going to the Royal Caribbean in Cancun for 20+years so I thought what the heck! Well, I was very pleasantly surprised. The places is just as I expected a Royal Resorts to be: Impeccably clean, wonderful staff - and no one tried to sell us a timeshare. PLUS - I was worried about the food and the small selection but - I booked Los Murales 3 nights out of our 6. The other 3 nights we went to the Palapa and it was delicious and NOT boring. We found beach chairs every morning (but a warning....get them early as many guests put towels on them and then don't show up for hours!). Sadly we ended up doing the same when we learned this trick! My family loves quiet and restful on vacation so the fact that there aren't tons of things to do appealed to us. But if you need entertainment 24/7 this is not the place for you. RH would have gotten 5 stars but the WifI is very "iffy and spotty". One thing my kids demand is good Wifi!! All in all will definitely go back! We had to move rooms as we went on a Tuesday - Monday and the moved us at 10 am and we were unpacked and ready to go at 11. Very smooth transition. The best part of RH? The people! They are so helpful, friendly and eager to fix anything for you. Thank you RH for a wonderful Holiday!! :)
"Perfect Getaway!!!"
My wife and I enjoyed a week with our son and daughter-in-law (Feb. 7 - 14) at the resort. Everything was perfect! They have the week as their winter get-away (8 years now) and we can honestly say that it was a great decision on their part! The facilities are perfect, restaurants offer a wide variety of great choices and the service is wonderful. My wife and I have traveled over the years and experienced many stays in a number of resorts/hotels/condos both nationally and internationally. The Royal Haciendas goes to the top of our list. If we can make the time next year, we'll be back on our own. Special thanks to Manuel and Chris beach/pool side service as well as Sergio La Palapa and Miguel Las Murales!
"Perfect food, drink, people and accommodation"
This resort was absolute perfection. The food was fresh and delicious. I never got bored of the meals even though there was limited restaurants. The servers were attentive and always friendly. The pools are beach were beautiful. The beer included in the all inclusive was delicious. Oh, and the daiquiris are straight up made with blended frozen strawberries. The included room service was a great feature. I seriously do not have any complaints. I was worried that my partner and I would feel out of place as we are a young couple. However, while this resort is not for "spring breakers", it is an amazing spot for young people who are taking it easy. The staff and other guests never made us feel out of place. However, don't be surprised when the bar closes around 11. If you're a young group planning on partying you should probably check out another resort. Otherwise, don't hesitate. If you're in the swim up bar, look for Cristavo! He's an amazing bar tender!
"A-MAZ-ING"
Our family of 10 stayed Jan 31 thru Feb. 7. From the moment we checked in til the moment we left, we felt like royalty. We did the all-inclusive option and were glad we did. The suites were beautiful, big and clean. Our view from the balcony was the best we've ever had on our many stays at Mexican resorts. There are two beautiful large pools, one more quiet than the other. but both were WARM and wonderful. We enjoyed the ocean and soft sand as well. The food is very good and there was a large selection for everyone in our group, with a child's menu for the kids. One evening the adults enjoyed a lovely dinner in the restaurant while the kids were at a movie and popcorn night. The kids club during the day was great too and they enjoyed many different activities. Thank you to all of the hardworking people here! The week was a dream vacation for us, our children and grandchildren. We will definitely return to this resort.
"Great vacation!"
We just came back from a 6 day vacation in Playa del Carmen at The Royal Haciendas. It was a great time! -VERY clean - the grounds were really immaculate. -Beautiful (and giant!) pool area where we had no trouble finding a seat. -Gorgeous private beach - the sand was so soft, it felt like velvet. Very clear and calm ocean that was easy to swim in -Available snorkling/kayaking/paddleboating gear -All rooms have a pool/beach view -We felt very safe and the resort was very quiet at night. -Easy to get to from the airport -Free shuttle to Playa del Carmen where you can go to eat/shop/etc -Good food and drinks at the pool bar especially! The only drink I didn't love was the Mango Margarita because it was too sweet. P.S. we were told that it wasn't necessary to bring bug spray. This is a lie. I got eaten alive so do yourself a favor and bring some!
