We just finished a week vacation at the Grand Sirenis. We booked through BookVIP and I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the entire trip, all the way from booking through the conclusion of the trip. We got a phenomenal deal and had an excellent trip!

What Our Customers Are Saying

Written Review

"Girls Mexico Trip"
We had 6 girls and had a GREAT time. The location was great. The food was what you expect in an all inclusive resort. The sit down dinners were good and the buffet was typical. Drinks were easy to get and of course, FREE! The beach was nice. We were close to a lot of nightlife. The rooms were better than average.
"Beautiful Resort! Great for group trips"
Celebrated my friend's bday in cancun and his gf chose this resort. Its a beautiful resort with great food and as usual, the staff was great. This is my second time staying at a Riu resort and so far, i love it!!!! The first Riu i stayed at was in montego bay (Riu Palace). This hotel has one of the best views for sunrise because of their beautiful infinity pool. (See attached photo.) During my stay, it was peaceful and quiet, which i loved. The beach was really clean and i had such a great relaxing stay. The rooms were well kept and clean. Very big and spacious. I love how close the walk is to towards the clubbing zone. A quick 5-8 mins walk. I will def stay at another Riu property which i am looking into at the moment for costa rica.
"Great second visit"
What can I say it is a Riu and as always it was a great vacation. This is our second time staying here but the 12th staying at the Riu chain of resorts. We stayed on the 8th floor with an ocean view, nice. I find it hard to say anything bad about the RPLA and very easy and happy to say the resort was spotless, clean rooms, and all the people I came in contact with were very nice and helpful. The food was good and plentiful and as I have stated before if you can not find food to your liking then you must be one picky eater. My favorite two restaurants are Krystal and El Romero Staek House. Los Arcos is great for grabbing a bit to eat late at night. Since my last stay in March 2014 they have completed the boardwalks which has helped in enlarging the beach. I heard rumors that the RPLA is next on the list for remodeling sometime in 2015?? As I posted when I was there I visited the Riu Cancun and was very pleased with the new and improved Riu Cancun very modern look similar to the Riu Peninsular. We ha\ve stayed at the Riu Cancun about 8 times so the change was big I felt I was at a new resort, but I saw alot of the same friendly faces that I have come to know over my visits. I really like all the wood in the RPLA so if they do remodel I hope they can incorporate the existing wood. If your next vacation is to Cancun and the RPLA is on your list of places to stay then book, relax and enjoy.
"Love this resort"
I have stayed at this Riu five times now and love it. Rooms are very nice, staff I great and it's in a good location. I have stayed at two other resorts in Cancun that did not even begin to compare, one being the sister hotel Riu Cancun. The others were the Westin and the Royale and they weren't even in the same class as the Palace. For starters, if you stay in that area of Cancun the water and undertoe are so much rougher that going into the ocean isn't even enjoyable. The beaches are bigger over there but the water isn't fun. Another thing the Palace offers is bar service on the beach and the other hotels did not;. Personally, I don't like having to hike up to the bar to get a drink. The actual beach at the Palace is small but very nice. There is great snorkeling right there as well. A small reef between the two Rius have a lot of wildlife and we all enjoyed snorkeling right there at our hotel. The restaurants are all very good as well though sometimes a little difficult to get reservations. It definitely has a superior buffet to the other hotels I've stayed at with a lot of variety. It is a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for.
"Great hotel"
We stayed at the Riu palace for two weeks for some much needed sun. The hotel was so good, the food was of a high standard, they even had a 24hr restaurant open for snacks etc when you returned from a late night out. We don't really do all inclusive, but this was really good. We went to the beach most mornings for swimming, and the sand is always raked every day. Also on the beach, in the afternoon for cocktails, which was refilled by the most hard working waiter, ever. The rooms were huge, and we had a great view of the Sea,and the lovely pool area. The entrance and lobby was outdated, but I think they have refurbished it all now. The evening entertainment was good, and the bar never too busy. We really enjoyed our stay,so much that we didn't even mind the jet lag.
"One of the best Riu Hotels"
We decided to try this Hotel for the first time. Although this Hotel is just beside the Riu Cancun Hotel, Riu Palace Las Americas offers better food and higher beverage level. You con relax in a very nice location with personnel who is always eager to help. This hotel has a very convenient location near the best nightlife attractions of Cancn. If your are looking for party, this is not the right hotel for you, you'd better try Riu Cancun which is next door but you can always spend the day there with all the all-inclusive benefits if you are guest of Riu Palace Las Americas. It is a good place to relax and take it easy.

"Just returned from Paradise!"
What a wonderful, Hotel, professional and friendly from them porter opening the door! Quick and efficient check in with a drink offered as we did this! Soooo clean everywhere, rooms very large with everything you could possibly need. Food great and service and entertainment very good. Would definitely return
"Suenos hecho en Mexico,"
This was my second time staying at this hotel having been previously in 2005. Having read some of the reviews prior to going I was a little worried that the hotel had fallen into decline but I needn't have worried. Upon arrival we were treated like royalty, comp upgrade to a sea view, welcome drink while checking in which after a 10hr flight was a welcome treat. I really do hope they don't revamp the old girl too much, yeah the rooms could do with an update, new furniture and refurbished bathrooms etc, but I really hope they don't rip the public spaces and restaurants apart. Throwing up purple plastic chairs and cheap cheap shiny stuff over the place will ruin it. The Riu Cancun next door now looks like a shopping mall when you walk in. RPLA still has the jaw dropping wow factor :) Room was spotlessly clean and was kept that way throughout our stay as was all the public areas. Restaurants were fine, always plenty on offer in the buffet, we ate in the Steakhouse, Italian, Mexican and Krystal. Didn't have an issue getting a reservation. Staff as always are the jewel in the crown of this place. They all work so hard and always have a smile on their faces, Juan kept us hydrated by the pool during the day, Watch out for Dennis running about like a manic in the buffet restaurant and Ernesto in the terrace bar by the showtime serving up Scooby Doo shots like they're going out of fashion, great guy. Plenty to do near by close to the strip with Coco Bongo a 10 min walk away. Bus stop outside the Riu Cancun costs 10.5 pesos single trip worth it if your heading into downtown or along to La Isla shopping centre. Loved it hear and can't wait to come back.
"Great time in Cancun at the RPLA"
We arrived and were greeted by Daniel at the desk, he was great. Very friendly and eager to get our vacation off to a great start. The hotel was just what we hoped for, very clean but not too modern. It had Caribbean charm. The food was good to very good, there were some items that weren't great but the buffet had enough options to keep everyone happy. We did try most of the restaurants and they were good as well. The pools were very nice, Juan our server at the pool always kept us with fresh drinks and great service. We also spent time in the lobby bar with our bartender Abu who also gave us great service. The room was clean and was kept that way our entire stay. the location was good walking distance to a couple of the local nightclubs. We would definitely go back. We did visit the other RIU next store but it had been updated and we didn't like the more modern look and preferred our hotel. The beach was great, smaller like some have said but very nice and better than the beach at some of the hotels next store. Room had a mini bar and fridge that they kept stocked. The view from the room was excellent we were on the 5th floor. We stayed for 8 nights and the only negative thing would have been the ice machine in the hall was noisy, they did fix it the day before we left :) There are souvenir shops within walking distance and there is a bus stop in front of the hotel next store so it can be easy to get around.
"Great Hotel!!! Loved This All Inclusive"
Long and short of it, WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK!!! I really had a great experience at Riu Palace Las Americas. I will recommend it to all my friends. A few people said it needed to be updated and I disagree. I loved the old world charm of it. I was talking to a lot of people that had stayed next door, prior to it being renovated and they said they didn't do a renovation they did a ruination. So I went next door and it was way to modern for me. I like the one we stayed at. I took my son for his graduation present. It was like spending 7 days in paradise. I did not smell mold or mildew and I thought the place was absolutely beautiful. I loved all the wood. The buffet was great, all the time. The restaurants were nice, the drinks were great, food was great and the people that waited on us were out of this world fantastic. You could not want for a drink or for our table to be cleared. They were the most attentive, friendly people I've ever dealt with. They were also cleaning all the time. The resort was so clean and so well taken care of. Next time I go to Cancun, I will definitely go back.
"Can't go wrong w/ Riu!"
Clean, relaxing, beautiful pool area, and excellent service in the restaurants! Buffet was more than enough and we enjoyed the specialty restaurants. We have stayed at several Riu resorts in the past and, as always, this was a great value!
"Second time even better!"
My heart is just full of happiness and gratitude to all of the employees that make this hotel what it is. First time I stayed as a couple--third floor overlooking the private hot tub, room and beautiful was wonderful. This time I took my daughter to celebrate her 32nd birthday. When the hotel learned of her birthday they went above and beyond any of our hopes--even had complimentary champagne and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room. She also was dealing with some health issues and they were so accommodating to make her feel as comfortable as possible. We lost track of the names, but--Daniel, Pablo, Ernesto you will always have a place in our hearts. As far as food in the main dining room, I don't see how there is room for complaints. It was beautifully presented and we didn't have anything that wasn't delicious. I tell my friends the sand feels like wet powdered sugar. The hotel is opulent but comfortable. And I slept like a rock on the beds--and I have sleep issues. When we had a problem with the toilet the staff was there within ten minutes to fix it. Our favorite bar was the outdoor "tequila" bar. You make instant friends. I have yet to smell any of the smells talked about here, its humid and I don't know if that has anything to do with the comments. My only criticism may be about the "reserve policy" for the beds by the infinity pool. We noticed people put out their towels the night before to have them...beach is better anyway :-) And be sure to do the water yoga at the party pool...these things being said, now make a reservation and make some memories!!!
"Superb service and very clean."
Good food plenty of choice. Good variety of brand drinks. Very large rooms and bathrooms. The service is excellent from the dining rooms, the bar, the sun loungers, pools and beach, they come round all the time offering drinks. The entertainment which started at 9.45 was good most nights and the chairs very comfortable. two big pools one of which was quiet and the other was for drinking and playing games including Aquasize every day and Table tennis on the poolside. In the room they provided a coffe percolator which we used to make tea by getting t bags and milk from the outside dining area. We had a problem with our toilet and they fixed it within 10 mins of reporting it. On our last day we discovered a good area above the dining room with sun loungers and jacuzzi which overlooked the party pool. Overall a great hotel.
"Consistently Awesome!"
I have stopped counting the times we have made the journey to the RIU PALACE LAS AMERICAS .... just returned and it was, as always, like going home. Wonderful to see so many of the same staff year after year as they have become family to us. To Jack, Vanessa, Julian, Wilbert, Alex, Uzi and the rest of the gang, thanks again for making our visit so special. This is the most beautifully classic, clean, service-oriented resort we have ever stayed at ... period, One favor to ask: Please, please, please .. keep the classic beauty of the Palace as it is and if you have to renovate, do a little work on the rooms .. guess they could use a little refurbishing (although I think they are fine the way they are). Not a more classic Mexican resort anywhere .. in its physical beauty and in the beauty of the people that have always made us feel welcomed. Viva Mexico!!
""Vacation at our home away from home""
We just got back from our vacation at the Riu Palace Las Americas. This was our 3rd stay at the resort. We were excited to see that they have added more beach to the resort along with 3 piers since our last visit in February 2014. Our service was top notch as always and the food was wonderful. Employees were more than accommodating and extremely friendly and passionate about serving you. The hotel is beautiful inside and out and very well maintained. Our room was always spotless and our bed was turned down every evening. We highly recommend this hotel. We look forward to our next vacation in the near future.
"Wow, perfect family reunion"
We held a family reunion at Rui in Cancun and it had something for everyone. The rooms were very nicely appointed, clean, spacious, bright and comfortable. The pools was amazing, large enough that I didn't feel like I was being splashed by some else's kid. The main pool had a comfy seat so you could order drinks and watch the sunset. The beach was perfect, very clean and clam... Absolutely perfect, it's not large but it was prefect to get both the pool and beach experience. Let's not forget to mention the food.... Oh the food.... I'm still in a food coma! Yes, it was buffet style but everything was fresh and nicely prepared/presented. The evening restaurants offered a great option for everyone to meet at the end of the day to dine together and the food was delicious! I have no complaints. Overall great vacations for everyone. I would go back again
"Had a wonerful time!!"
We spent last week at the Riu Palace Las Americas and had an amazing time! Being right in the Hotel Zone, it is at the center of everything - shopping, nightlife, beaches - making it easy to access outside activities. The hotel itself provides great activities there at the hotel. The wait staff was great - Honorio, Alex, and Jair were especially attentive and their interaction with us was amazing! Most everyone was very friendly and eager to make you smile - right down to the lifeguard, Jose Luis. This interaction with the guests is one of the things that will definitely make me want to go back! The only thing that I would say was a negative was that they allow people to smoke everywhere, including the outdoor restaurant. There are no designated smoking areas. While eating, it was common to be breathing in cigarette smoke from the table next to you. Regardless, I gladly give this hotel an excellent rating and look forward to returning soon!
"Awesome!"
Hotel is beautiful. The staff is great. The sports entertainment staff is the best! They are why we keep coming back. The keep you entertained and enjoy your stay. They keep the fun going all day long. Great job: Jack, Vanessa, "Uzi" and the rest of the sports entertainment staff!
"Classic Long Weekender AI Resort in Cancun"
We just got back from a 4 day and 3 night stay at the Riu Palace Las Americas, located at the northern tip of the Hotel Zone in Cancun Mexico. I have not gone to an all-inclusive for years (as I think they lack any local culture) but that is what we needed on this trip-- just a nice hotel with a beach and some pampering... This resort is a classic old Spanish decorated hotel that offers a very upscale all-inclusive experience. Having the opportunity to do a trip sans kiddos we upgraded to this resort vs the other RIU options and we are very glad we chose the palace. The lobby is enormous and beautiful with tons of hardwood and iron accents, a stained glass mural on the high ceiling and many beautifully placed chairs, couches and artwork that feels very old world, upscale and classy. The front desk service was outstanding. We were offered a free upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite with an ocean view and a balcony. The room was covered in granite and hardwood accents and the view of the pool and the ocean were incredible. We found the food to be very good and also extremely plentiful in options. The evening buffet has many of the same items daily but they did rotate the theme each day. We found no problem getting a salad at all meals (the Italian restaurant in the lobby has an amazing salad bar for lunch) and we were able to dine in Krystal and Japanese specialty restaurants even without reservations (the restaurants were never more than half full due to no-shows so you can go at the 630pm seating and take a table if available). Breakfast was good and they have fresh made to order omelettes, waffles and a 7-option fresh smoothie stand in the mornings. Lunches were very good and on the weekend they did an outside buffet with ribs, chicken, carne asada, seafood paella and tons of grilled vegetables. It was all prepared on the grill or in huge cooking pans for all to seequite the spectacle and an amazing spread! I was very impressed with the fishMahi Mahi and Seabass were both cooked very well in the restaurants. Booze options were goodDos Equioxx for beer and a good selection of wine and liquor. Nothing super low end and there was never an issue getting a higher qualify liquor if requested. The resort has 2 pools and they could not be more different. The main pool off the lobby was quiet and tranquil and relaxed with big, bed style loungers. It was not uncommon for someone to be sleeping all afternoon or cuddled up with a book. The 2nd pool was more lively daily water volleyball, water basketball, aerobics, games, a DJ and 2 main bars (one a swim-up) gave this pool a full day party feel. Both pools are infinity pools and have unbelievable views of the ocean. The staff was attentive and extremely genuine. I felt as if they had as much of an interest in my vacation enjoyment as I did. The cleaning staff works 24/7 and keeps the resort spotless and clean and the wait-staff was always looking for a way to go above and beyond to please. Thanks to Rico, whom sat us at the Krystal restaurant after the seating time had endedwe are very appreciative of that! The beach areas are broken up and shared with the RIU Cancun next door (with the Palace you can use all the RIU resorts amenities in the Cancun area). There are swimming areas that are accessible and those are very nice. The nightlife at the Riu palace was very minimal, which was fine for us. The RIU Cancun next door has a more lively night life scene, or you can walk into the bar/ disco area of the hotel zone which is a 5 minute walk. Not many kids at the RIU Palacetons next door at the Riu Cancun. My only real issue with the resort was the coffeeI believe it is powdered and tastes pretty bad. We choose to go to the Starbucks down the road (which is a bummer because Coffee in Mexico usually puts Starbucks to shame). I am excited to come back to this resort some time down the road. While some have asked for a remodel I hope they keep the resort the samethere is something timeless about this resort that would be lost if there were dramatic changes.
"Wedding fab holiday, excellent staff"
We got married here April 2014 had an excellent 2 weeks with 20 family and friends. We came here the previous year and again the hotel exceeded our expectations. Great location I loved the la Isla shopping mall 5 mins away in taxi. We also got on the ferry which is a few mins walk from the hotel over to another island where we visited the turtle farm and hired golf buggies to go exploring. Would deffo go back.
"Great hotel"
Stayed here for my brother in laws wedding recently, was definitely one of the nicer all inclusive resorts we've stayed in. The hotel is in a fantastic location about 10 minutes walk from the heart of the hotel zone where you have all the clubs and bars. Manageable enough if you do have a big night out you can stumble home whilst picking up a burrito or pizza on the way. First impressions of the hotel on arrival, the lobby area is beautiful and well presented. Check in process was seamless although due to the late check in I think we missed out on the hotel tour. Over the course of the stay we managed to eat at every single restaurant on site. Breakfast buffet in the main restaurant was delicious - so much to choose from you'd be hard pressed to not find something you like. If I had to pick a favourite restaurant I would have to say the steakhouse. Lunch time they always had something fresh and delicious like ribs or BBQ chicken. Dinner time they have lobster and steak (of course) and it was great by all inclusive standards. Second favourite would have been Crystal. Note that for both those restaurants a reservation is required. The service all around was great, there was not a single staff member who wasn't extremely helpful. All up, it was a fantastic stay I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone. I really did love staying there and would even stay there again on our next trip to Cancun. Hot tip - there is a pharmacy and a convenience store right across the street if you run out of anything.
