Barcelo Tucancun

We (Myself, Wife, Daughter, Son-in-Law, and Granddaughter) stayed at the Barcelo TuCancun on August 28-September 1, 2014. We were very pleasantly surprised with a villa stay and I have to say we had an excellent time and stay. Both your staff and your accommodations were very much appreciated. The villa was beautifully welcoming and your staff (as they always are on all of our stays with your hotels) were helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant. They made our vacation wonderful. We hope to see you again in November. As always, we remain very happy clients and patrons of your establishments, and in particular of the Barcelo TuCancun!

This is a good quality 3 star hotel. I booked 2 rooms (adjoining) for four of us which were both spacious and clean. The hotel staff are very friendly - particularly in the restaurants - though the food there could do with more vegetarian (main course) options. The drinks from the pool side and lobby bars were great and have no complaints. Pool and surrounding areas are kept clean though you should be wary of wearing anything white in the pool as it will go green! I would definitely have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would stay there again

first time in mexico staff are always willing to help very friendly from the maids to the pool entertainment team no eceptions food in all resteraunts was always fresh and delicious rooms were large and very comfortable the only downside here is the evening entertainment once the shows have finished lobby bar has no atmosphere and can become boring the beach is wonderfull we had areally enjoyable stay and would visit here again well done a lovely place to visit

This was our third stay at this hotel. The staff is always friendly and the beach has always been nice. There are nightly shows in the main theatre room ( the magic show was entertaining). The one thing I enjoy is the diverse culture staying at this hotel. Some resorts seem to cater to USA or other groups so it is almost like not even being out of your own country. I saw people from South America (Brazil and Venezuela), England , Poland, Japan, etc. one last thing that some may enjoy when you want a short break from the beach. A mall is very close. If fact if you walk out the front door of the hotel and down the walkway you enter the back door of the mall.

We stayed there from Aug. 22 to 29, 2014 We had the best trip ever again. This was our 8th time at this hotel and the second time in 3 months. I think this speak for itself. This hotel is the best hotel I have ever been in my life and I will continue to go to this place as long as it exist. It is not a 5 stars hotel so don't expect that. It is a solid 4 stars (for me, it is better than a 5 but this is my opinion). It has 338 rooms and everything is easy to find. There is 3 nice pool. We got there at 6h30 pm and the check in went well as always. When we got there, of course we were excited to see our friends. The General Manager, Mr. Ricardo Reina was there to welcome us. We were so happy to see him again. He is such a good General Manager. The best this hotel has ever had. We were given a Villa right on the beach... WOOOWWWWW what a nice villa it was. We had welcome gifts (we are repetitive gests, so we always have some gifts in the room). The temperature was very hot in August and we had 7 days of sun ;) what more do you want. We went to all the shows every night. Even if we know all of them, we still go see them. I recommend the Magic Show, the Mexican show and of course, the Michael Jackson show. If you go there, you need to try the Mexican a la carte restaurant. Just go at the front desk in the morning to make your reservation. For the first time, we did the romantic dinner on the beach for 120 US for 2. Filet Mignon and Lobster tail... OMGGG this was the best dish ever. The set up is magnificiant and they play some romantic music for you etc... this is a must. We had the chance to see some baby tortuga come alive and we put them in the water at night wowww. Again, I would like to thank every single person who works in this hotel. Especially, Ricardo Reina, Adriana Luna, Gonzales (bellboy), Angel May, Gustavo Mendez, Enrique, Elena, Gaby (kids club), Gabrielle and Martha (our waitress), Felix and Antonio (Bartenders). We already miss you and we can't wait to see you again in April 2015. Love you guys Mel and Mart xxxx P.s. Be nice with the people working in the hotel and they will be nice with you. It is a 2 way street.

We stayed in Barcel Tucancun in March 2014, 3 adults with 2 rooms. The hotel is a little old and tired but the rooms were nice and clean, the shower is huge and well stocked with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, and my room was huge! We didn't have a great view but I don't go on holiday to sit in my room. The pools were always clean and we had no trouble getting sunbeds. The bar service was good if a little limited in cocktail choice. I also felt at night there wasn't much entertainment or many bars to use. The food was nice, the a la carte restaurants could be used as often as you liked so we went to them for dinner every night which was much better than the buffet. Overall, for the price, I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is great, very clean,wonderful staff. the food, entertainment is awesome. the only bad side is the elevators there was no air circulation, I hope they are able to do something about it, I will stay there again

My first vacation in four years, Barcelo was wonderful for a nice quiet relaxing trip. Food was wonderful, lots of choices, and since I'm a vegetarian that was really nice. The staff was absolutely amazing!!!! Everyone was all smiles all the time. The staff made of point of remembering you and knew what you wanted before you even had to ask. Our bartender at the ADULTS ONLY POOL!!! (what a great idea) had our drinks ready without asking. The rooms were spotless and so was the beach. Got a kick watching them rake the sea weed every morning. I read some comments about the hotel being old and needing renovation, did not see that at all. All inclusive made it really nice, did not have to worry about carrying money around. If you want to venture out, shopping and other eating establishments are very close. I would go back in a minute.

I stayed at the Barcelo. Fantastic staff, great all inclusive offer, amazing pools and entertainment, food was good and the beach is amazing! Travel links and shopping on the doorstep, couldn't ask for much more for the price! Id stay there again.

I'm married to a Latina..I'm white..our expectations don't always match. I starved the first two days as the buffet contained nothing I wanted to eat...until I found breakfast at the seafood restaurant near the pool. Go there...meets an american's choices/preferences. Also..have dinner there..all the time.! Te food is amazing. You may end up changing rooms a few times before you get it right...ask to see your room first. Decline it if you don't like it. We saw 4 before choosing one. Get the coupons at the desk and use your upgrade credit.

reading all the review had me nerviest about the food and hotel but it was a great stay at this hotel loved it .Great price the food was good the staff very friendly . nice room view . you have to judge for your self for any hotel i think.

Very cozy, and clean hotel. The rooms are large and all meals were very tasty and good. They have four swiming pools, one very large where the most part of people go to do the hotels activities, two other from where you can see the beach and other one only for adults more private with a wet bar.

Really good hotel ! Antonio in the lobby bar and Roberto in the fish restaurant were fantastic really made our holiday !!!!! Would definitely recommend the fish restaurant !!! Really clean and no problems at all !!!

First stayed here 15 years ago an been back a few years ago, the location is great as it's on the beach with the mall immediately behind, just a beautiful beach,hotel, everything is perfect.you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful Hotel with amazing service and staff! Pool staff extremely helpful, friendly, welcoming and overall great people to be around, especially Gustavo Mendez and Jaime Jimenez! Second time staying here and would 100 percent stay again and would recommend to all family and friends!!

Barcelo Tucancun Beach offers great bang for the buck. The hotel is located on a beautiful part of the beach. The food is very good, and the staff are truly excellent. They were always happy to serve and make sure your having a wonderful time. Special recognition to Mitchell and Jaime, the pool staff. The bartenders and waiters Edgar Ramirez, Marcos, and Francisco, happy great people.

I was skeptical at first because of the room they placed my girlfriend and I in but then I made a deal with the representative at the front desk and got the top floor oceanfront room for 80% off. From there it was a very nice stay. The food could have been better at the buffets but the food at the restaurants was good. The staff worked very hard and we're really nice. The beach was amazing but the water was rough which was my only concern. Overall a great place to stay!

From day one this hotel has been amazing. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The restaurants serve delicious food all day. And the hotel room is awesome. I had to contact the front desk for more coffee for the next day and never needed to call anymore for the week. They go out of their way to please you and ensure that your stay is everything you need it to be. I look forward to another trip very soon!

I stayed at the Barcelo Tucancun for a much too short birthday holiday from the 8th to the 11th of July. Don't believe every review you read about this place but take the opportunity to make your own judgment! My experience at this hotel will make me a repeat visitor to this property! Food really good at the specialty restaurants, room spacious and extremely clean with an amazing balcony and view (5003), staff for the most part friendly and accommodating (big kudos and saludos to Olivia at the front desk and Antonio the best bartender)! Is the property a 5 star? No it isn't. If you're looking for a nice, clean smaller hotel with one of the most beautiful beachfront locations one will ever see then this is the place to visit. The only negative comment to make is for the duration of my stay my minibar was never refilled, though I asked twice.

Absolutely loved the barcelo! Great reps who knew everyone personally and got everyone involved in the games around the pool. The food was amazing! The weather was perfect and so was the location- right on the beach!! Would highly recommend this hotel!

My family of 5 and two other families totaling a party of 16 spent a week at this resort. The villa is the way to go...spacious and right on beach. Our room was warm and we could not get the thermostat to go low enough for our comfort level. We also had issues with getting refrigerator restocked with water and beer. Staff was excellent! Especially in restaurants and entertainment staff! We had a great vacation...I would recommend this resort.

Rooms had ample space with a lovely big bed in ours! No mirror in bathroom but just outside by the sink area. Balcony was quite small but we werw hardly in the room anyway. Bus stop just outside which went all along the coast line to the louder party place. Was full of restaurants and bars. Shopping centres etc... You have to go to cocco bongo!

We booked this through Virgin Holidays a year ago and was very apprehensive to see negative reviews when it was time to holiday here. When we arrived a very lovely lady at reception told us what condo we were in and more info about the complex and how to get to Walmart. We found the condo much bigger than we expected, very clean and comfortable. Most times we used the pool we were the only ones there as it was very quiet. Our teenage boys both said they loved it and would like to return to the same complex. We had a cleaner come in twice in the two weeks we were there which was included in the holiday package who left the condo spotless for us. As this was our first visit to Florida we have not got other villas or hotels to compare this one to but we would recomend this to friends and family and hopefully one day we will return!
