"The greatest time of our lives"
I would like to thank the Aloft for a wonderful time....we came here to celebrate our anniversary along with another couple. .. "Modern and hip"
The staff was great. The room was nice. Very nice for couples. Romantic. It was a very modern style hotel located near the tanger outlet mall and coliseum and airport. The hotel was beautiful. Had an indoor heated pool, fitness center, and lounge.
"Modern out of town hotel"
We arrived in Charleston without having booked anywhere in advance, so we stopped at the Tourist Office and they were very helpful in finding us somewhere to stay, Ideally, we had wanted to stay near the beach, but there was nothing available so we opted to stay out of town. This worked out well as we drove into Charleston each day and it was no problem. This is a very modern hotel and the check in was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and also had a microwave, fridge and safe. There was also free wifi. Our room looked out over the front and in the mornings we were fascinated to watch a family of ducks who seemed to keep crossing the busy road. Breakfast was included in our room rate, but it was not great. There is a food area where you make your choice and then it is bought out to you all wrapped up, I chose a muffin with Eggs, Ham and Cheese, it was un-naturally hot and it did not really have a lot of taste. We did not bother with breakfast on our second morning. There are several eating places nearby the hotel and we ate at Big Billys Burgers which was great. We received good service, the room was clean and it was good value for money.
"Nice Hotel, Wonderful Staff, Great Location"
Close to the highway, short drive into downtown. Nice area with lots of restaurants, and shopping. We had a large room with two double beds. The decor is funky and fun. There is a pool table in the lobby, a bar, and sitting area where they had entertainment on a couple of the nights we were there. The front desk staff was excellent! Warren was professional, yet friendly and oh so kind! It was nice to enter into the hotel and be greeted by a big warm smile and a welcome! I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay outside of downtown Charleston.
"Per friendly and very accommodating!"
I absolutely love pet friendly hotels and the Aloft was very accommodating - they even allowed us to have our two medium breed dogs out by the pool table with us, and even brought us a water bowl! Great service - had to change our reservation several times and everything went smoothly.
"Perfect sized room"
I loved the showers that were designed for tall guests, the room doors which had peepholes designed for shorter guests, the retro idea of filled dispensers in the showers (instead of small disposable bottles of shampoo and soap), and the shades which do not collect dust the way that curtains do. My favorite thing was the Re:fuel eatery: great selection of items, reasonably priced, easily accessed, and a perk of staying at a great hotel.
"Cool hotel, Great staff!"
My family and I stayed at this hotel the first weekend of August for our family vacation/reunion. There were 14 of us total and the entire staff made us feel very welcomed and never that we were a burden with such a big group. The staff was speedy in fixing the light bulb that went out in the bathroom in mine and my mom's room. I could just go on and on about the fabulous staff! Also, the shuttle driver was amazingly friendly and was always helpful in taking us to and form the outlet mall right around the corner or to Wal-Mart. The lobby was great for when we would arrive back at the hotel and were just hanging out and we could just sit around and talk or play pool. The breakfast at the hotel was superb as well!! We could definitely stay here if making another trip back to Charleston!
"What a secret!!"
As lifetime Gold SPG we were very impressed at the quality of this hotel and the standard of its fittings, decor and amenities . Everything has been thought through. The staff are delightful - Michelle Ford in Reception and the shuttle drivers could not have been more helpful and friendly. The location is right next to the Tanger Mall - wife loved it!!! We'll be back.
"Great, Contemporary place to stay!"
We visited Aloft in March of 2013 for a weekend getaway. We loved the contemporary/European feel of the hotel. There is a coffee bar as well as an alcoholic bar in the lobby. The price was very reasonable considering the stylishness of the hotel. They also allow pets. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Tanger Outlets. Overall, great stay great price! The front desk staff were not very polite, but other than that we had a great stay.
"Aloft Hotel Right place to stay"
From the moment we walked in the door ,We were greeted with a warm smile and someone who even though we had no reservation treated us like she had expected us and had the perfect room for us. This is our first time staying at Aloft Hotels and if everything is as wonderful as our front desk experience we will be back. Michelle F. had already made our visit to Charleston wonderfully warm and welcoming. Thank you Aloft.
"Good fun experience!"
Great hospitality, friendly employees, wish they made food/bar available much earlier on weekend. Great location, you can walk to restaurants, shopping, liquor store!! There was great fun, music, great folks there. Meeting room space was great. Very accommodating and excellent service.
"Chic...Contemporary atmosphere...Excellent Choice!"
This hotel has an eccentric appeal. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and there were flat screen TV's in each room. There is a lounge with a bar, swimming pool and a work out room (all in great condition). I liked that fact that everything was close by.... Tanger Outlet Shopping Center is literally down the street and there are tons of restaurants to choose from i.e. Golden Corral, Five Guys, Chinese, Qdobe, and a host of others. Walmart and Dollar Tree are also within reach. This was my first stay at an Aloft Hotel but will definitely not my last. Excellent Choice!
"Nicely Unique"
This was our first stay at an aLoft, but not our last. We only stayed over night, but this chain moved to the tops of my search for future stays. The reception was in the middle of the main level adjacent to the lounge area and everything was in plain sight, nothing hidden...like say, a loft. Very unique! After spending all day sight-seeing in the Southern heat, we arrived about 10pm and check-in was fast! Employees seemed liked friends versus employees, very friendly. Very clean lobby as well as room. Beds were very comfortable, even considering I have daily back pain. Although selling as an airport hotel, I heard nothing of the sort. Roughly 15 minutes from Market Street and other downtown restaurants and sights. Right off I-26 for easy on/off highway access. I will return to aLoft on my next trip to this wonderful city.
"Great location, excellent service & cool hotel!"
During a recent overnight stay to attend a morning conference in North Charleston, I stayed at Aloft and found it to be quite pleasant! Check-in was quick and easy, my king bed room was nice and clean, as were the overall conditions of the hotel, i.e., quite nice. This hotel is extremely convenient, with incredibly easy access to freeways, restaurants, shopping, Historic Downtown and the beaches. To add to my surprise, there was live music and food & drink specials at the WXYZ lounge, which was a really nice hotel bar! Rachel was the bartender and she made excellent margaritas, as well as provided helpful & knowledgeable conversation about the area. The lobby and bar areas of Aloft Charleston, with cool modern design & decor, are great features to this hotel and make the guests and/or bar visitors feel very welcome. I would return to Aloft Charleston without hesitation and recommend it to business travelers or couples desiring a nice hotel with very good amenities at a very convenient location to stay in when in North Charleston. My least favorite aspect of Aloft Charleston was that there are no scenic views from its location...but, hey, its North Charleston, not the Historic Area!
"A cool hotel and friendly service"
Only stayed one night but a good deal for the price. The vibe is hip, the rooms are clean and the staff is very helpful and responsive. Great location to the airport and an outlet mall. I give kudos to the manager, Jing, for being very helpful. I mentioned a slight problem with my room ( I was not complaining, just informing) and she took it seriously by adressing the issue immediately and giving me points towards my Starwood Hotels balance. She didn't need to do this but it shows a commitment to very good customer service!
"Clean & Cool"
We stayed just one night, but had everything we needed. The room was just the right size and very convenient to downtown Charleston, SC We did not partake in any pool time, breakfast, or happy hour, but Check in was easy and Checking out was a snap. Outlet malls are very close and there is also a hotel shuttle that will drive you within 3 miles of the hotel. That is a PLUS.
"Welcome to vacation"
My husband and I were at the beginning of our much needed vacation. We were spending one night at the Aloft in Charleston before meeting my husband's family for a cruise. I was tired from a weeks of stress and anxiety. Aloft was a perfect place to start a vacation. The shuttle picked us up quickly and got us to the hotel safely. The gentleman at the front desk gave us a very animatic and descriptive introduction to the hotel. I couldn't think of one thing he didn't tell us. I love staying at a place where I know what is going on. It was a very relaxed environment too. People were having a good time in the bar area, including a wedding party, so we went over there. The bartender was going to close at midnight, but stayed open to give us a couple of rounds, which we much appreciated. The room was clean and modern looking. This was a great beginning to our vacation.
"Top review best stay you can ask for"
I stayed at the aloft hotel I absolutely loved the modern decor I've never stayed anywhere with such unique decor it's nice to go somewhere were everything Is not very original or common also The pool area is magnificent and enchanting! I'd love to have the same decor and furniture in my pool area at my house. The breakfast buffet is more than enough to choose from with fast and rapid service! The chef on duty Shannon even crisped special sausage for me to my likings. This was absolutely the most courteous service I've ever gotten at any hotel breakfast. I love the special little names that they give each area the bar is called the wxyz, and may i add i loved the lights on the bar they were fabulous and also made it unique,the breakfast and snack area is called refuel, too fun. And I loved the fact that you are dog friendly that's a hard quality to find and I also appreciated that it was on the first floor it's as though it is its own part of the hotel I've never stayed anywhere better and will most definitely be recommending thank you so much for your services!
"GREAT HOTEL!!!!"
What an amazing hotel!!! There was a bit of confusion with our rooms, but with there being a basketball tournament and a couple of weddings going on at the same time, it was no wonder. The staff was REALLY cool and the vibe of the hotel was SO very hip!!! I will DEFINITELY stay here again!
"Great customer service!"
We were coming back to the States after living overseas for two years and this hotel was just want we needed. It was a pet friendly and clean. Lysey at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. The driver Freddie was amazing! He took the time to help us pick up our car from storage. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area!

I can not say enough about how friendly they are. To both four legged an two legged. Finally someone gets it!! The hotel was so well set up. A great court yard with fireplace. Hang out with your pup and a glass of wine. The staff check several times making sure the pups received their gift bag
"Great Experience!"
We stayed over the weekend in this little jem. Drew at the front desk was excellent and you could see he went out of his way to make all guests comfortable. He even made up ice bags for guests to take up on the way to their rooms each night. There was a really nice bar area for the perfect night cap before bed. The room was super clean and very quiet. The next morning we met Steve Spear the Manager in the lobby greeting guests and leading his team in service! What a great guy and you could tell his team was working like a well oiled machine. We had some mis-conceptions that the bar would be loud as it looked a party hotel and that we could hear the planes flying over. That was the farthest thing from the acutal truth. The next time we travel we will be looking for an Aloft, thanks to Steve Spear.
"A very nice and vibrant hotel!"
It's wonderful to find a place away from home that I don't feel Martha Stewart is the interior decorator. The interior is contemporary and funky. The rooms are just enough room and have the basic necessities which is perfect for someone like me. (I hate drawers and dressers) the hotel has an indoor swimming look which is heated I myself swam a few laps before enjoying a buffet style breakfast that was only six dollars! The front desk clerk shay or Che was wonderful and very helpful. She and Shannon made my morning that much better. They also have a shuttle that goes to the airport and I tanger. Really nice hotel I'd recommend it def!!
"Euro style hotel put some fun in my dismal day"
Stuck overnight after my plane cancelled, and got a distressed rate with a free drink...which i needed. Wasn't sure what the hotel was about, but gave me some fun. Two young ladies were handling the desk, bar and restaurant, and did so with smiles and great service. Room was very comfortable, with little tweaks which made the otherwise bummer night, somewhat enjoyable.
"Excellent service with a lost ring"
The Aloft rooms are good, comfy bed, and they give you 2 free water bottles each day. Nice also to have a mini fridge and a microwave. My last night there I lost my wedding ring in the fitness room or in my room. Told the front desk person on my way out early morning. A couple days later the GM calls me to say they have my ring. Amazing! any number of staff people could have pocketed this. They FedEx'd the ring to my home. Superb!!
"Fantastic hotel - great location!"
First impressions mean everything, and the Aloft gives a great first impression. We arrived late (around 1am) and the front desk staff was as courteous and welcoming as they would be mid-day. In addition, the hotel decor and layout was very appealing. More modern style rather than a traditional look that most hotels have. I loved it! Rooms were layed out with plenty of room and nice amenities. The location was right by the airport and close enough to the highway to get you to downtown Charleston quickly. Also to note: Thomas Foy, sales coordinator, was so incredibly helpful with our team. He accommodated me and my travel party throughout the duration of our stay. I highly recommend any teams or groups look to work with Thomas for their time at the Aloft hotel.
