Courtyard by Marriott VA Beach North

I ended up staying here for a business trip and it was entirely comfortable and welcoming. Every member of the staff was gracious, friendly and always willing to help. For being 8 weeks away from home it was fantastic.

This will be my 5th or 6th time to stay at this hotel. Staff has always been friendly and helpful and the rooms are comfortable with excellent views. Always nice to walk out on a balcony in the morning and see dolphins swimming. Only hotel I stay at in Virginia Beach.

Having stayed in many Marriott branded hotels, this is a pretty traditional courtyard property with a great ocean view. The lobby is slightly more updated and larger than the average courtyard. Small pool, and decent gym wrap up the amenities. Highly recommend the sap king rooms with ocean view, they're very nice and the jacuzzi tub is setup so you can watch tv and unwind.

I stayed 1-26-2014, James provided great personable service throughout my stay. He helped with a dinner reservation and directions. He greeted me with a smile everytime he saw me. The hotel was what I have experienced with other Courtyard Marriotts. Bistro Service was also great for breakfast. Stairs exit to the outside and one of the meeting rooms. All rooms face the beach, parking on site or across the street in Courtyard lot. I will stay here again.

We have stayed here several times while visiting the area, and we love it. Great people, friendly service, beautiful ocean view, pristine rooms. James helped us and was extremely gracious; we even got a complimentary room upgrade. We'll certainly stay here again.

We stayed her for New Year's Eve 2013. It was most certainly the off season, but we really enjoyed it. Beautiful, clean room overlooking the ocean. King size bed was incredibly comfortable. Within walking distance to great places to eat and friendly front desk staff. The kids enjoyed the heated indoor pool too! Only wish they had a continental breakfast, however, that would have prevented us from going to the pancake house down the road, and that place was great too!

This was a getaway overnight for my husband and me and we are definitely planning to return. Parking was convenient, the ocean views were amazing, and the room was clean and extremely quiet. Every employee we encountered greeted us with a smile and and an inquiry as to if we needed anything. Polite every time!! Check-in and check-out was easy.

I really liked the set up of this Courtyard. It is a long room and we had 2 beds - I think they may have been Queen beds. What a view from our room. We were on the 11th floor - which I would highly suggest. The balcony was good size. We arrived around midnight and left around 9am the next day, so our stay was very short. I had a very discounted rate, which is why I chose this hotel. I believe the summer time rates are 200+. I do not think I would stay at that rate. My rate for this stay was under $50 a night. But if you got money in your budget, the view is amazing. The evening and morning we were there, it was 40 degrees and rainy, so we did not explore the beach or the board walk. This is a very convenient location in Virginia Beach.

I've stayed here many times in the past on business, and will continue to do so as work brings me to the area a few times a year. Friendly, attentive, and professional staff. The beach view is always a plus, even in the winter.

Cold mid December trip on special offer from Travel Zoo, why not? Excellent off season offer and a great suite on 7th floor with super view. The hotel, being ocean front takes a beating from salty weather but is well maintained with an obviously well trained and disciplined staff. Always greeted with friendly hello when entering front entrance. All employees were polite, friendly and most helpful with any question, etc. which reflects on good management principles. Bistro comp bfast excellent. Loved standing on balcony to see NAVY fighter jets approach from ocean & fly directly over hotel to land at nearby Oceana Naval Air Base, wow! Recommend.

My husband and I spent several days here and we absolutely loved it. He enjoys playing golf in Virginia Beach and I enjoy sitting in my beautiful, spacious hotel room enjoying looking at the ocean and beach. The room was clean and the service was perfect. Everyone who works at this hotel was helpful and very nice. We ate at the hotel restaurant The Bistro and it was delicious every time. I will definitely return (hopefully soon). A plus is that it is located near many area restaurants and shopping.

THis was such a good courtyard! I am so impressed with this location and the staff. Rooms were very clean and I had such a good view. Not certain why it was made a Courtyard...I think as far as business travel goes. I will definitely return next year!!

Very comfortable weekend stay to attend a family wedding. We booked 2 rooms both of them were suites, the rooms were very large and nicely appointed with incomparable oceanfront views. The staff was very attentive and the package we booked included breakfast which was cooked to order. Overall a great experience will definitely recommend this location to friends and family.

My husband and I stayed one night at this property last weekend. It was one of the most enjoyable stays we have had in Virginia Beach. The facility was well maintained and our suite was clean, neat and very practical. The front desk staff were extremely pleasant and very accommodating. They answered our questions, gave directions, were friendly and just added to the great experience we had. Customer care and service were definitely high priorities for them. All staff that we encountered were also very pleasant and helpful. An added plus was the free hot breakfast and free parking. Nice touches for Virginia Beach. We are definitely planning to return.

I would like to thank Again Shakella for going above and beyond on her service She brought me a specialty coffee from the starbucks in lobby while I was having Breakfast I was kidding when I asked her for it!! Next thing she had it in her hand!!! Also a Huge group of us go there every year for the Walk for Breath "Team Rick"...They even had a welcome sign for us! We vacationed at the Courtyard Virginia Beach Oceanfront/North from Saturday 10/5 to Saturday 10/12. This is our 3rd vacation to VA Beach in October but the first at this hotel. Our DD and her family came with us for the first few days and we were to 4 more days, decided to extend an extra day. The majority of our trip was rain and wind soaked with thick fog (although the first 3 days were perfect fall beach weather). As such, we spent a great deal of time in the hotel (with a very active 3 year old). So having a hotel that was enjoyable was a major relief. We had the large one bedroom suite on the 9th floor (DD & Family had a lovely queen suite). We all loved it!!! Our room was on the corner of the hotel which goes from the front to the back of the hotel (ocean and dolphins at the back, street on the front, and ocean/pool/street views from the windows on the side). It has a separate king bedroom, large living/dining area, tvs in both rooms and more closets than my first apartment Travelers always talk about courteous, friendly staff. The staff at this hotel was just what they were talking about. James, Josh and Danielle (and many other staff whose names I dont have) were amazing! They were responsive, helpful, always had a friendly word and smile (and I saw some travelers during our stay that put that to the test). I cant say enough about them. They gave us recommendations for restaurants, shopping, etc. and the recommendations were spot-on. If we had a question or a concern, it was addressed immediately. At one point, my husband couldnt find his credit cardwe knew it was in the room but not where. They sent someone up to help us look. We had a few tiny room issues and maintenance was there immediately. When we needed additional pillowslightningthey were there. Housekeeping was friendly, responsive and called us by name in the halls. We love this place. If youre looking for newly installed, designer dcor, fusion dining, a concierge behind every plant, and a housekeeping staff that comes in once a day to shampoo the carpet and scrub the tile--dont stay here. But if youre looking for a friendly, clean, comfortable hotel, right on the quiet side of the beach, with amazing views that turned our regular frantic, beach hangout vacation into a lovely read-a-book, browse bookstores, and explore lovely little shop refuge, book here immediately. We'll definitely be there next October.

We travel to Virginia Beach for 2 days Oct 9-10-2013 staying at the Marriott Courtyard North Beach. We decided on this hotel after reading reviews on trip advisor of hotels located on the beach. The hotel was an excellent choice for us. First the room was very clean and spacious with a great view of the ocean and a nice balcony to enjoy. Second the entire staff provided excellent customer service and you could tell that they took great pride in making you feel special. The hotel was a great value for the price.

This clean and spacious hotel is on the famed boardwalk and steps away from the sand! This hotel has every ammenity you need in a resort, from pools, tiki bar and lounge area. The one bedroom suite was plenty of room for all five of us in our group - with a great ocean view balcony to watch the dolphins throughout the day. We were in town on the last busy weekend of the summer and this hotel was full - but it sure didn't seem like it! Plenty of space for everyone. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our only complaint was that the outdoor pool was freezing cold- on a 85* day. The ocean was at least 10* warmer! Am not sure if heat was an option for management, but the lifeguard on staff said it had been cold for several weeks. Would have spent more money at the bar had the pool been heated and we could have swam ther during the afternoon. This is a hotel we will return to! Perfect for a family trip, a romantic weekend for two or a girls weekend! It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the staff and rooms make up for the bland exterior.

I stayed at this hotel for a few weeks on business. The staff was very amicable and catered to my requests. They were diligent about passing information to the oncoming shifts, and were quick to remember the names of my colleagues who also stayed for a few weeks. Clean facilities, the pool and Jacuzzi were adequate. Prime location, the back entrance opened to the boardwalk and beach. Short walk to many restaurants and tourist attractions.

On the last day of my stay, I wanted to find the General Manager, and ask her what she is doing to her staff; do they get daily naps at lunch?? regular bonuses?? free cake and cookies?? Whatever it is she's doing, she's doing it right!! I'm a blue collar thinker. If you complain on review sites because the a/c unit was too loud, this review is NOT for you (not that the a/c unit was loud by the way). While at this property over the holidays, I was personally greeted by EVERY staff member I walked by! While I sat on the beach during one of the warm December days, I looked back and saw one of the housekeepers squeegeeing the balcony door windows as if his goal was to turn it into a mirror. You just don't see that kind of motivation and level of pride at all hotels. I could go on and on, but trust me, this is the place to stay!
