We just finished a week vacation at the Grand Sirenis. We booked through BookVIP and I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the entire trip, all the way from booking through the conclusion of the trip. We got a phenomenal deal and had an excellent trip!

    "Anniversary Vacation"
My husband and I come to Charleston 1 to 2 times per year. We have stayed at hotels all throughout Charleston, however since we discovered West Ashley Hampton we only want to stay here at this hotel. We love everything about it and feel that we have found treasures in the staff and property. The staff make you feel like family. It is our home away from home when we are in Charleston.
"Great Hotel, Great Location, Better Rates Than Downtown"
I'm usually not a big fan of Hampton Inn as many have gone downhill lately, but this one is great! Beautiful lobby and great room with wonderful hot breakfast. Outdoor pool in courtyard that leads to separate building for the fitness center. Room was great. We actually had the choice of a standard room or 1 bedroom suite for the same price. We of course took the suite. Suite was clean with wet bar with mini fridge and microwave. Separate bedroom, all clean and comfortable. Great location at the end of I-526 in West Ashley area of Charleston. Close to Airport and just minutes to Historic Charleston. Rates much lower than in the historic district. Plenty of restaurants nearby as well as a major shopping mall. Great hot breakfast in the morning, included with the room rate.
"amazing hospitality and bigger than most hamptons"
Our family had 2 rooms for 4 nights and found first this was a good location close to Charleston, beaches, Savannah and Hilton Head. Secondly our rooms were larger with a fridge and microwave which is unusual for us from the northeast. Thirdly the staff were efficient yet made time to answer questions and were generally very friendly and helpful. The Japanese restaurant right next door (1 minute walk) was excellent with great hibachi entertainment and selections to please our vegan kids and omnivore parents.
"One of the best Hampton Inns"
I like the Hampton Inn chain, and this is one of the best. The room was very clean, nothing looked "worn". It was roomy and nicely decorated. A large refrigerator was provided (not a bar). This HI did not have warm cookies in the lobby, but they did provide a wine/beer/pop social time each night (which more than made up for the missing cookies!). The location is great for getting to the airport and also for some of the plantation sites. If your main focus is the sites downtown, this may not be your best choice. It is a pretty straight trip downtown but in regular traffic it will take close to 30 minutes to get there. Traffic on 17 is very heavy and there are a lot of stop lights. The trade off is that this location will cost about 1/2 the price of a room downtown.
    "Great Hotel"
During our travels back home from Miami, FL, we stopped here in Charleston for a few days before taking the final leg home. After looking at reviews, we had already pre-booked the hotel before leaving for Miami on the way down. Our stay was from February 28, 2016 to March 1, 2016. After making some lighthouse stops on the way between St. Augustine, FL and Charleston, SC, we finally made it to the hotel around 6 pm. Overall, it wasn't too bad of a drive coming here, even though the eastbound trek from I-95 to there was on US 17. Once we got closer, it was a bit hard at first to find the hotel, as the signage wasn't as great. We did find the hotel and made our way inside to get the room key, as I had already done the check in on their mobile app. Just note that this hotel is not on a beach anywhere, so that will be why this place is less expensive than other hotels. I wasn't really concerned with getting a hotel at the beach, especially since I was coming back from a cruise anyways. Once inside, the place was very nice. It's one of the nicer entrances to any of the hotels that I had stayed in during this trip. It wasn't too busy in the lobby at the time, which wasn't too surprising since it was a Sunday evening. The staff at the front desk were great. They were able to take care of everything quickly and professionally. After checking in, we went up to the room. After getting to the fourth floor, you could see much of the wallpaper off in the hallway. They had a sign noting that they are working on improving the hotel. Once we got into the room, it was clean and had no issues at all. The beds were comfortable and clean. After getting settled, I went downstairs to the front desk to ask for some brochures on what's available in the area to visit the following day since I'd never been here before. All of the stuff for that is actually located on the second floor. The following morning, we had breakfast at the hotel before venturing out to visit the sights and sounds of Charleston. Breakfast was that of your typical Hampton Inn experience and was good. After returning to the hotel the next day after visiting Charleston, we came back to them having a manager's reception. Apparently they do this on certain days of the week. It was nice to grab a quick snack before going back up to the room to see what we would do for dinner that evening. After having dinner at a local restaurant, we made our way back to the hotel, but had lost one of the room keys. I went to the front desk and they quickly replaced the key for me. I thought that it might have fallen out of my pocket or something. After about month being at home, I found the missing key, which had fallen out in my car. Overall, this was a good Hampton Inn experience and would definitely be back if visiting the area again in the future. If you're visiting Charleston on a budget, and want a good hotel that isn't as expensive as being right at the beach, this hotel is for you.
    "Great Hotel to stay in."
The hotel is 10 mins from the airport, 10 mins from downtown Charleston. The location is quiet, and the staff is great. I have been staying here every month and a half for the past 9 years, for 1, 2 4 night stays. I started staying here after staying in another hotel up the street, and absolutely love this hotel.
    "Unexpected but great stay"
Stayed here with my boyfriend on a whim on the last night of our visit to Charleston. My boyfriend had made a mistake when he booked our reservation at the Marriott and didn't book the last night, and they couldn't extend since they were completely full for Friday night, but I am glad we ended up here. This is our second stay at a Hampton Inn, the first being in New Smyrna Beach. I loved that the cost was less than a night at our Marriott hotel we previously stayed at, but included all my basic standard necessities - free Wi-Fi, free hot breakfast, parking and a lovely room. We were pleasantly surprised that our King room turned out to be a suite, with a kitchenette, living room, separate bedroom and spacious bathroom. Not sure if this is their standard room type, or if we received this because we booked so last minute. Compared to experiences at other hotels, Hampton Inn seems to go above and beyond to ensure guest comfort. The public restroom had a basket full of feminine hygiene products, there was hot coffee in the lobby and there were toiletry items outside of the norm in our room (hand sanitizer, makeup remover wipes). My only con, and it's not a big deal, is the distance from downtown, as we spent most of our time there. But even thought our previous hotel was very close, we still ended up driving my car into the city and paying for parking. So in the end, I wished we stayed at this lovely and comfortable hotel all three nights, even if it meant staying a little farther out. Since we only stayed one night, I can't say much about the quality of housekeeping, but all the staff we passed in the hallways and etc. were very courteous. I was also concerned about noise since we had a 1st floor room, but that was never a problem.
    "Loved the Couch"
This room was with King size Bed and also had a sleeper/sofa. So often simular rooms have 1-2 chairs but the sofa made it more comfy. Hotel was in a nice location for us, close to downtown Charleston and close to Folly beach
    "Love this place"
We checked into the 11/26 and checked out 12/1. We fell in love with this place. I have to let y'all know that there are 3 front desk ladies who made our stay more than we could of ever asked for and they are Lashae, Gernette and Stacey. You can count on us being back to see these ladies. I could of not asked for anything better, this place gets a 5 star with everything! Thanks for the great experience and look forward to coming back soon!
    "Hampton Inn & Suites"
Charleston / West Ashley, SC Located on Hwy. 17, it is an easy drive into Charleston, about 6-1/2 miles away. Besides offering all the amenities expected at Hilton's Hampton Inns, the staff was exceptional here. Gernette at the front desk was very professional while being very friendly. The breakfast area was well stocked and quite clean. I didn't see anything during our one-night stay that wasn't well-cleaned. It was a great stay for us.
    "Good Location and Good Price"
We stayed here from July 1 - July 3, 2012 and had a pretty good time. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff was very friendly. We stayed as a family and had two rooms both were just regular rooms, not suites. Breakfast in the morning was very good and the staff worked very hard keeping up with the guests needs. The pool was excellent as well. Location wise it is in a good spot by being south of downtown Charleston right off of Hwy. 17. It is about a 10 minute drive to the historic areas and the visitor center, as well as being only a 10 to 15 minute drive from Folley Beach, so you get the best Charleston has to offer within 15 minutes. The hotel is a good place to stay and I look forward to going back.
    "14 in 1 review"
This hotel was chosen for its location for a seminar being held for a group of professional auctioneers. Fourteen men & women auctioneers from 8 different states had nothing but A+ rating for this fine hotel and the management. Located just a block from a bus stop then 10 minutes into historic downtown Charleston. Less than 10 minutes to the airport and about 20 minutes to famous Folly Beach. Extra comfortable and priced right. Thanks.
"Off the beaten path but close to the action"
The Hampton Inn was a little difficult to find it is tucked away behind a car dealership and the side street is not well marked. We booked a 1KB, 1RM suite which had a large living area, a kitchen (although just a sink, mini-fridge, microwave, and counter, cupboard). The bedroom was good sized. The hotel is a little dated (no flat screen TV, aged carpet) but not too bad. The pricing was 60-100 dollars less than a hotel in Charleston and parking was free. The high speed internet worked great. There were plenty of restaurants nearby on Sam Rittenhouse Blvd and a small mall with a Target. It took only 10-15 minutes to drive into Charleston attractions and we were able to get parking easy within the city. There was a managers reception (not used to that at a Hampton, more like a Embassy Suites for that amenity) with free beer/wine in a real glass and munchies. Breakfast was like a traditional Hampton, breads, cereal, two hot items, biscuits, and fruit. There were treats set out, choc chip cookies one day, donuts the second day. We would definitely stay here again as we liked the quietness as an escape from the hustle and bustle (the pool was refreshing after a hot long walking around the city).
    "Very nice hotel"
Great hotel, very clean, nice staff, beautiful outdoor pool and breakfast area. Room was a bit small, but okay. Beds were very comfortable which is one of the reasons I like staying at Hampton Inn's in general and this was no let down. The property was excellent. We stayed here one night on a Saturday night and was looking for a better value than being downtown. This is about a 10 minute drive from downtown and was very easy to find. Lots of restaurants in the area, but only a couple within walking distance. There wasn't really anything to do in the area, but we were just looking for a nice place to stay and being that we were heading up to Magnolia Plantation the next morning, it was on the right side of downtown Charleston. Breakfast was better than most as they had some hot items on the menu that seem to change daily, it was biscuits and gravy and eggs that day we were there. Our 7 year old son loved the pool. The only complaint I had was that when we first checked in, we were given a room that when we arrived at it, the bathroom was being worked on. It was a quick fix, but it was still a bit of a pain lugging allt he luggage to the 4th floor and then having to go back down and get a different room. That shouldn't have happened, but it was a quick fix. Our replacement room was on the 1st floor and appeared to be a bit smaller and I didn't like that we were on the 1st floor and had to keep the drapes drawn due to the parking lot being right outside, but I was surprised that the noise from the parking lot did not affect us, the room was very quiet.
"Outside of downtown and cost effective"
Let's put this into prospective. The options for a decent hotel around the Charleston area is relatively hard. Outside of the downtown Charleston hotel which roughly cost between $200 and $300 a night, there are very few cost friendly places to stay without being in a well, let's just say less desireable place. Price was a mere steal for the hottest time of the season for the city. First impression was interesting. The location is about 15 minutes away from downtown, either via 526 all interstate or via route 17, which is shorter but has stoplight after stoplight. Hotel sets at the end of 526, and right behind a car dealership. When they built the property they put up so many trees and plants, that you barely know it's there. It's within walking distance of a McDonald's, Food Lion, Ruby Tuesday's and Firehouse Grill, along with a couple of gas stations. Very safe and secure location. Parking is not a problem, not unless you get back at 1 a.m. on a Saturday night. Check in and staff were extremely helpful. Answered every question I could possibly come up with kindness and a smile. I purposely made up some to test them. I even got my double bonus points on my hilton rewards and a thrifty car rental bonus reward. All staff members were dressed nicely and "hello" was heard often. One remark of note "Is there anything else I can help you with?" after every remark I had. That is outstanding service. Onto the room. A nice room with a view of the pool area. King size bed, and 27 inch tv. Cable channels were plenty. A nice loveseat couch and a desk and chair that was comfy. There were some marks on the carpet, that could have been cleaned, but overall a very nice room. Bathroom, was clean, and had anything you might need. I had forgotten my razor and I called down, and they even brought me one to my room. Bed was nice. 5 nice poofy pillows. The day we checked in, there was a managers reception. Basically it was between 5-7 and they had some food, wine and beer offerings. A nice touch. Made me relax. Breakfast time. Plenty of food. Bagels, danishs, cereal, eggs, sausage, apples, doughnuts, bananas, oj, apple juice, and coffee. Trust me, there is plenty. Lobby area was roomy. Newspapers were provided everyday. Hotel has an elevator, snack bar, and workout room. You get keycards, not actual keys. Complimentary water and cookies in the room.
    "Charming, Convienent & Value - 3 in 1!!"
I visited this Hampton Inn & Suites in West Ashley on a business trip and had to stay over on a weekend due to other travel cancellations. The staff was completely helpful in recommending what to do in the area for "fun" and from "a local's point of view." All employees that I encountered were very friendly, and the front desk even went the extra mile to remember me & greet me by name daily! The hotel is extremely clean (or should I say spotless...) they also offer not just your ordinary complimentary breakfast...but a wide assortment of items including biscuits, southern gravy and grits. And during the week, the managers host a free happy hour. I highly recommend this hotel to any Charleston visitors whether it is for business or personal travel.
