We stayed here on a recent visit to the Phoenix area. This hotel is in a great location, easy to get to, yet in a quiet and attractive area. It is a well maintained property, we were warmly greeted upon arrival, our room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast area was clean and well stocked with the standard hotel fare. What more could you ask from a hotel? This is definitely on our favorite list.

"A Good Choice in Scottsdale"
We stayed here on a recent visit to the Phoenix area. This hotel is in a great location, easy to get to, yet in a quiet and attractive area. It is a well maintained property, we were warmly greeted upon arrival, our room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast area was clean and well stocked with the standard hotel fare. What more could you ask from a hotel? This is definitely on our favorite list.
"Excellent hotel"
We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights using IHG rewards points. Our room was fine. Had a refrigerator and free Wifi. Staff was friendly. Had a good breakfast every morning (included). Nice pool and large hot tub, which we took advantage of. Well padded lounge chairs. There was a back door from our room which led directly out to the pool area. Only 10 minutes from the closest casino, What impressed us the most was the front desk clerk. We had leftovers from dinner. We had a refrigerator to store them in but no microwave. We inquired at the front desk and the clerk said no problem - we could use theirs. He took the time to go to the kitchen and wheel out the microwave for us.

Really nice hotel, it was made super special because of dan..super nice@!! And what a great sense of humor...he really made a big difference with his super friendly attitude...thanks for a great stay. He took us where we wanted to go with a smile.

Our family loves this Holiday Inn Express! It is in a great location - walking distance to Old Town Scottsdale. The hotel is spotless, has a great breakfast, nice outdoor pool and hot tub, and is quiet. I would highly recommend staying here!

Amanda was great, worked hard at an early check in due to a funeral I was attending. She went over an above the call of duty. As I came back to the hotel she engaged me and ask about the service and was great and very pleasant. My compliments to her and the entire staff.
"Super friendly & helpful"
A crazy storm knocked out several power lines and the heat was too much for our family. We were able to get right in and special requests were promptly addressed. Ivan, at the front desk, was very kind and allowed us to cancel or second night when power returned just before we were going to check in. The breakfast however, really won the kids over. They asked if we could go again for the breakfast.
"Great Stay"
Chose the hotel for location and consistent experiences from Holiday Inn Express hotels. It was a good location, easy to find and ample parking. Great breakfast in the mornings and friendly staff. Good room, comfy bed and pillows. Made use of the pool during a very hot day, very refreshing!
"Amazing Stay and Great Staff"
This was our first visit to Scottsdale. Our original accommodations did not work for us so we switched to this hotel. Amanda checked us in early so we could get an early start to our sightseeing and continued to be amazingly helpful throughout our stay! The room was very comfortable. In the morning when we came down For breakfast I noticed that all the dry cereal had sugar. I explained to Lillian, the kitchen attendant, that I was Diabetic and asked if she had any cereal that did not have sugar. The next morning she had plain Cheerios for me and every morning of our trip she'd bring out the bag of Cherrios that she kept for me. We had an amazing vacation and an amazing stay at the Holiday Inn Express!
"Great stay!"
We had a great 4 night stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The pool area was comfortable and clean, as were our rooms. Breakfast was very good, always fresh scrambled eggs or cheese omelet sand sausage or bacon, fruit, yogurt and pastries. Location was within walking distance of some stores and restaurants, and the hotel has a great free shuttle to anyplace within 5 miles, including Old Town for shopping. We would definitely stay there again.
"Plush rooms & great location"
We stayed here for 8 nights in august - off peak and we got it for a great rate! plus free breakfast every morning. We had the pool and hot tub to ourselves most of the time. The service was great - free cookies (that had to be hidden from non-guests!) and refreshing lemonade to . They upgraded our room due to our membership. The mountains and sunset hit the pool nice and location was just off our our favourite locals - chop and wok Chinese restaurant and paradise valley mall. Would definitely return here. They were so great even when I left 8 pairs of shoes in my room and returned to collect them they were very helpful!
"good hotel"
Really enjoyed this place. Staff very nice, breakfast good and there was GF options. However the first morning they were not out, the second I happened to hear someone ask the staff for them, and the third they were out. Mind you those options were for muffins or bagel, besides the usual breakfast items. However all in all we will be back when we have to be in town overnight.
"Best Yet!"
We only stay at Holiday Inn Expresses. Clean clean clean. Always updated. The one near mount Rushmore was even themed. Anyway we arrived early. It was 110 in the area and my wife was feeling sun sick. We didn't say anything. We just asked if we can check in early. Shelby, the young lady we dealt with said let me check. She said it looks like we can get you in now. I then thanked her and explained my wife was feeling ill. She immediately changed our room to a first floor stating it was cooler. Now here is what i must stress. The concern she showed was human not employee trained. Not only did she move us to a first floor cooler room but stopped in the middle of the check in process grabbed two cold waters and came around the counter and gave them to us. What a wonderful PERSON. In the morning we my wife was feeling great. Back to normal. We came out for breakfast and she was at the counter. She remembered my wife and immediately asked how are you feeling? Holiday inn express needs to keep an eye on this one. Shelby has earned them customers for LIFE!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR THOUGHTFULLNESS!!

We had a perfectly delightful time. Close to some great places to eat. Staff wonderful. Rooms quiet and new. Enjoyed the clean sparkling pool. Iced water and lemonade in the lobby was welcome when we returned daily from sightseeing. Hope to stay here again

We had a great time and were so surprised at the pink decorated room and bathroom. My daughter and niece loved the doll bed to keep. Great location, awesome shuttle service, nice pool side room, good breakfast choices. We definitely want to return
"Great property, great staff, great value"
I stayed at this property for a weekend getaway after being in the area for work. This property offers great value in a convenient location with an incredible staff. The staff; from housekeeping, breakfast area and front desk will greet you with a smile and make you feel like part of the family. Kudos to front desk manager Amanda. She's a rockstar!
"Great place for a comfortable stay"
Having traveled to the Phoenix AZ metro area we have stayed at several properties and the Holiday Inn Express on Gold Dust in Scottsdale was one of the best I've experienced. The customer service was perfect, the grounds were clean and well maintained...nice pool and the morning breakfast was always good. The location is just off the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Shea which is not far from the 101 and surprisingly very quiet. There are several eating and shopping venues within easy walking distances. We will most definitely return to this property.

"as expected"
one night at this hotel was scheduled a few weeks before. An uneventful stay. Quiet room. No problems. I had breakfast in the eating area just off the main entry and elevator lobby. Its a typical hotel breakfast. With a good variety of average and freshly prepared food. Looking at the variety I would think that anyone could find enough to eat. But its not a restaurant. Fair enough. 20 minutes to eat and i'm on my car and on my way. Parking was adequate. This place is a bit off the beaten path. But maybe its worth traveling a few extra blocks for quiet. So why rank a hotel where everything is adequate with 5 stars? Because that it what was advertised and provided. Have I stayed at better places? Yes and lately. But i'm a business traveler. So I got good value for my dollar. the most important thing to me however is not the total charges. It's a quiet nights sleep and uneventful stay.
