Written Review

"Nice hotel. Exceptional staff"
We just returned from our trip to Bahama House. I traveled with my teenage daughter from March 30-April 3. First of all, let me say, we did not rent a car, so this is a pedestrian point of view. I had never flown through Daytona Airport before. It was so nice, efficient and clean. Only a short cab ride (20$ fare) from the airport to Bahama House. We stayed in an ocean view efficiency on the fourth floor. The room was clean and spacious with a nice view from the large balcony. The kitchenette had everything we needed to make some simple meals. All dishes, utensils and a small coffee maker. House cleaning came up everyday at pretty much the same time and did a wonderful job. We also appreciated the continental breakfast, which was basic: Juice, coffee, pastries, cereals, bananas. Happy hour was also a nice treat with a very hard working bar tender serving mixed drinks, beer and wine. There are also fresh baked cookies at the reception desk throughout the day. I only had a few questions and interactions with the staff, and they were all met with a smile and knowledgable answers. Very helpful and friendly!!! We spent most of our time on the beautiful beach just steps away. A rental truck with beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc was parked right outside each day. Reasonable prices. There was also a food truck with cheeseburgers and fries a short walk down the beach. Even an ice cream truck came down the beach a few times a day. That was fun!! We walked to the pier twice. We took our time walking down the beach and it took us about 90 minutes one way. Plenty to do once we got there. Shopping, restaurants, carnival rides. We definitely had a wonderful time and I would recommend staying here.
"Great hotel in a great location"
We stayed here for two nights during spring break and really loved this hotel! From the great hot tub and pool, to the complimentary happy hour and continental breakfast, the Bahama House really goes the extra mile. The room was also really great, very large and semi beach view. Can't wait to visit the Bahama House again for our next "daycation"!
"Nice location for Bike Week"
We stayed here with our two teenaged kids during the last weekend of Bike Week. It was a little too far to walk to Main St & the boardwalk but we actually didn't mind. It was just far enough to have a break from the craziness. We had an ocean view room that was perfect for watching the sun rise every morning. We enjoyed sleeping with our patio door opened every night. It was a large enough room for a family of 4 with a full size fridge, microwave, sink & stove top. Although on the older side, we found everything to be very clean & in working order. The complimentary happy hour was just right & so was the continental breakfast. The staff was friendly & helpful & we loved the fresh baked cookies every day! The only small complaint we have is that although our 3rd floor room was non-smoking, our hallway smelled of smoke. We checked other floors & did not find this. It was not that bad as it stayed contained to the hallway & not our room. This will not be enough to stop us from booking next year.
"2nd time was a greater charm"
This was our second visit to the Bahama House. We first went in 2011 for a summer weekend and said that we would be back. We came back to find the same great customer service, very friendly staff and super clean room and property. One of our highlights was the daily happy hour which was very busy during our 3 day stay. We had extra special entertainment from the University of Wisconsin singing troop down for their annual spring break. The whole stay was once again very pleasant and we are looking foward to going back in July. I would say if you want a peaceful stay away from some of the rowdiness a little further north you do not have to look past the Bahama House.
"Loved this hotel!"
Great hotel with a great location. Directly on the beach and the rooms have a beautiful view of the beach. On the quiet end of the festivities, which I thought was nice because I thought the board walk was a bit much. FABULOUS rooms, what a great surprise! Rooms were very big and balcony view was great. Free happy hour - you can't beat that! Nice pool and hot tub. Very nice hotel overall! I am a very happy customer and would recommend this hotel to anyone!
"Nice place for a weekend!"
We stayed here for two nights with our two young grandsons. Had a room on the 9th floor on the side of the building with a balcony that had a good enough ocean view. Room 909. The location is not ideal if you want to walk to restaurants or bars for lunch or dinner. You need to either drive, or order delivery. But the complimentary Happy Hour from 5:30 to 6:30 is just above and beyond what is necessary..........seriously, this was terrific. The complimentary breakfast is not bad at all, pastries, cereal, bagels and cream cheese, toast, orange juice, coffee. The workers are efficient and friendly enough, not overly so though. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub area, it's well maintained and good sized. We definitely heard that people had gotten much better rates than what we paid, but I did not think a total of $300 with all the taxes was bad for Spring Break time. I would not hesitate to recommend this property.
"Does'nt get any better than this"
I've lived in Florida 24 years, stayed at many different places, Bahama House is the absolute best of them all, everything you would expect a hotel to be. I was there for bike week 2014, Bahama house made it the best trip ever. Super clean, polite staff, the continental breakfast was plenty to get your day started, Kept full and fresh right up to the end 9:30
"Great place in Daytona"
I give this hotel 5 stars! Very clean, all the workers were so friendly, rooms were very large & all had atleast a partial view of the Atlantic. Each night they have happy hour with free drinks & snacks, as well as activities for the littles! Pool was nice & warm, hotel is directly ocean front! Quiet end of Daytona couldn't ask for a better place! Only downside is that you are on the quiet end, so if you do have littles you will have to drive everywhere. Adults can easily pull off the walk though!
"Nice accomodations on Daytona Beach"
Spent three nights in an "Ocean View" room. Bahama House is a bit dated, but really nice for the price. Gorgeous pool. No bar or restaurant, but they there is a simple breakfast bar in the morning, and a "happy hour" each evening. I would definitely stay again.
"Clean, Consistent, and Fairly Priced"
I pop into the Bahama House from time to time, and I am always impressed by the consistency of this place. It's been around for a while, and the service is still always prompt and friendly. The rooms and common areas are always clean and updated, and there are always little extras, like the cocktail hour and free breakfast, to help you feel at home. It's attention to detail which sets hotels apart, and Bahama House has it!
"Taken care of just like we were home!"
We are a group from North Alabama that came to Daytona to get some work accomplished and we were treated like royalty. If it weren't for the beach views and sand in our shoes, we would have thought we were at home. Our Mommas and /or wives couldn't have treated us any better. The only thing that would have made our stay better would have to had our families with us. This wasn't our first stay and certainly won't be the last. Thanks to all the staff for making our visit so pleasant.
"Vacation"
Nice hotel, but not alot to do. Everything was clean and well cared for, but there is no restaurant, bar, exercise room or arcade/play rooms. The staff was very friendly, the happy hour was great, but the continental breakfast could be improved.
"Feb trip to Daytona Beach"
The 1st impression of the lobby was clean and the staff was very friendly. I was surprised to see a daily newspaper delivered outside our room each day. The happy hour every night was nice and a bonus of popcorn was a highlight of my husbands. There are fresh cookies daily in the lobby in the afternoon and the breakfast in the morning was served at times to accommodate everyone. The weather was not great when we were there so spent more time in our room so was glad it was quiet and clean. We were on the 8th floor and didn't worry about the pounding rain and high wind that was happening outside. We would stay again. A lot of little extras that make a difference
"You can't be the beach location or the staff"
We stayed at Bahama House after being in Orlando for a few days. The location was idyllic being right on the beach. We took advantage of the evening Happy Hour and the breakfast each morning. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The rooms were great. A full kitchen was useful (we made several meals) and you can't beat the view from the balcony overlooking the ocean with the sounds of the waves in the background. We enjoyed our stay and plan on returning in the future.
"Another great stay"
We stayed the month of January ( They have great monthly rates ) and although the weather was not up to Florida standards it was a lot better than Michigan weather. We have been staying at the Bahama House during the winter for several years and this was another great stay. The staff is IMHO what makes the hotel special. God willing will be back next year.
"We will be back"
We loved our stay at Bahama House!! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Fresh cookies every day and a very nice breakfast. And then Happy Hour - what a great idea - we met some very nice people that we wouldn't have if not for Happy Hour. PS: Jodie and Lynn do an excellent job
"Excellent location & price"
This was our first time in Daytona Beach as we were attending the Rolex 24 Hour race. We hadn't decided to go until relatively late and checked out many hotels/motels on-line. Tripadvisor's ranking of Bahama House lead us to investigate further and we finally decided to book. The security on the on-line booking did not reassure me that that was the way to book, so I called. The booking agent gave great information and said that she had enjoyed working at the Bahama House for 17 years. The front desk staff at time of checking in was very professional and the lobby was clean and inviting. Our room (ocean view) was spacious and clean. We loved the kitchenette (I am lactose intolerant so stocked the frig with lactose free milk for breakfasts. A grocery store was nearby). The access to a clean guest laundry was great too as the weather was colder than expected so we had to do a wash part way through our 4 day stay. The hotel is one of the older ones however it has been well maintained. Staff are easily identifiable with their bright Bahama shirts and the rooms are nicely decorated in the same theme. The mattresses are firm, bedding crisp and pillows plump. My husband and I were very comfortable and the cost was reasonable.
"We'll be back!"
Just finished a very pleasant 4-night stay at Bahama House. We were in Daytona for the first time, attending the Rolex 24 Hour endurance race. The hotel is right on the beach, near plenty of shops, restaurants and grocery/convenience stores. It was an easy, short drive into town to get to the racetrack and more restaurants and stores. Our room (an oceanfront efficiency) had 2 queen beds, mini-kitchen (full fridge, 2-burner stovetop and microwave), and a private balcony that looked right out over the beach and ocean. The dining table for 2 made for a good workspace (which we needed). Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was small and utilitarian, but also very clean and functional. Housekeeping took good care of us, notwithstanding our erratic schedule in leaving and returning to the room. We had a good, reliable (and free) wifi connection. There is an underground garage with plenty of parking (also free). The hotel serves a complimentary light Continental breakfast every morning (which we took advantage of) and evening happy hour (which we did not try). Breakfast was simple and unchanging -- cereal, bagels, toast, mini-muffins, mini-donuts and danish, bananas, orange juice and coffee -- which was perfectly fine for us. Note to business travelers -- the hotel does not have a business center. However, the front desk staff was unfailingly gracious and helpful when we needed to print out a few work documents. This was our first trip to Daytona so we don't have first-hand experience with other hotels in the area. When we checked in, however, we ran into friends who are here every year and who have settled on Bahama House as their Daytona hotel of choice so I am quite comfortable saying that Bahama House should rank high on the list of Daytona Beach hotel options. We certainly enjoyed our stay, and look forward to coming back for a future visit.
"Unexpected excellence"
We were in Daytona Beach to see our granddaughter in a State Cheerleading competition. We found the Bahama House on line and what a great find. Excellent location about 1.5 miles south of the "Entertainment District." Right on the beach. Our room had a balcony overlooking the beach and Atlantic Ocean. The rooms were standard motel/hotel decor but clean and modern with a fully equipped kitchenette. There was WiFi and free onsite self parking. Despite the fact that our hotel was filled with pre-teens and teens, our room was very quiet. Oh, and a free breakfast. Highly recommend.
