"Amazing Views and Outstanding service"
This was a surprise find of a resort. I was staying at another hotel that was really nice and quaint. I stumbled upon this property while I was on the beach. I inquired at a local art gallery and was invited to spend the day as their guest. The catch was to attend a short non pressured tour of the property. I have been to time share presentations, so, I was skeptical about this...but open to it as it looked beautiful. The property was beautiful, from the beach club, cabanas, infinity edge pool, bar, and restaurant to the lobby. I was blown away with how beautiful the rooms were. The presentation was informative and made me want to be a part of this concept. Every person were above and beyond my expectations. I decided to join this club and became a member immediately. I moved from my hotel to a wonderful room. I was greeted with cold towels and a drink at the front desk. The bellboy Diego, was wonderful. He had my luggage on its way to my suite. The sales people, management, and hotel and Beach club staff made me feel so much at home. I had a cabana right by the pool and a great server. One person that stood out was Maramar (probably spelled her name wrong). She was the hostess at the Beach club. When she heard I had and early tour the next morning, she offered to open the restaurant and have the chef make me breakfast an hour prior to opening.
"Amazing stay at Almar and Mantamar"
Had the most amazing stay here!! My room #802, was beautiful and very spacious. The bed was SO comfy that I didn't want to get out of it in the morning. Enjoyed my view of the ocean, nice touch. I don't think there's an bad view from any of there rooms. Our room had an kitchenette which helped keep drinks and leftovers cold.Best part about my stay was the staff and how friendly and helpful they were. They were very informative on local restaurants and sights. I'm not into big resorts so this was my jam!! Came back from a lovely good time from Mantamar Beach Club (crazy goodtimes were had❤️❤️) to find Birthday bubbles and cake in my room!! I never said anything about it being my birthday. You get in free to the amazing Mantamar Beach Club if you stay at Almar Resort... great music, drinks and people. Drinks were tasty and not that pricey. Staff was also amazing there.. remember to tip the staff, they work really hard to make your stay unbelievably amazing and relaxing at both places. I can't wait to come back
"Good location in Zona Romantica"
In A Nutshell: -Almar Resort is not the correct name listed here on Yelp, the correct name they use (in addition to Trip Advisor, Hotels com, etc...) is... -Almar Resort Luxury All Suites & Spa - Caters to Gay Men -I'm always skeptical about low/limited Yelp reviews, so I like to check out reviews on Trip Advisor and Google Maps, especially in foreign countries (Yelp is mainly used by Americans). -I thought it was funny that a week prior to arriving, the title of the hotel was edited from "Adults Only" to "Caters to Gay Men". -Gay men have exquisite taste! -This is a really beautiful & relaxing place to stay. -Located in Zona Romantica & steps from Viejo Vallarta (where all the street food vendors are located) & close to the malecon (boardwalk). -Very walkable, but you might get tired of walking up the small hill after a long day of excursions & exploring. -Use the fully stocked kitchen utensils & shop local produce to make your own cheap, healthy meals...you'll save a ton of cash. -There is some construction happening but, I barely saw or heard it during my 5 days. -I think if you pay for the cheapest rooms you might end up w/ a bad view of the construction & hear it more, so some reviews reflect that. -The pool club down by the beach looked dirty (scum floating on top of the pool), but the music sounded good (HOUSE MUSIC ALL DAY) & it was crowded so I didn't use it (even though you do get free access to it w/ the bracelet you get after checking into the hotel). -The service here is very, very good. Like Diego kept telling me, "mi casa es su casa", sure felt like it. -I plan on staying here again next time I'm in town!
"Great Amenities"
Amazing service, amenities, and room! The free breakfast every morning at Mantamar was such a good deal and fantastic. Loved every attendant I met from the front desk to the beachside cocktail service. Special thanks to Manuel, Oscar and Gerardo! The view from the room was gorgeous, and there were so many shops and great restaurants within walking distance. Other reviews complained of construction noise but I didn't hear it at all, although you can see it when you walk down to the beach. Absolutely will be back.
"Luxury Enveloped With Authentic Care and Attention To Detail"
I've been coming to Vallarta for years and have stayed at some of the best resorts available. Each time I've been faced with the challenge of finding a first class experience in the Gay Friendly Romantic Zone. Upon arriving at Almar Resort Luxury All Suites and SPA, what resonated with me, was not the beautiful facilities, or the prime location at the very center of the Gay Beach, which are absolutely amazing. It was the connection to the people we encountered working at the resort. Immediately we felt welcomed and wanted. The care the front desk staff demonstrated was genuine and sincere. Our concierge, Aida, promptly introduced herself to my friend and me, and let us know that even the smallest request would not go unfulfilled, but receive the highest level of service. Our experience over the week of our stay was proof that her and the rest of the staff's commitment was not in word only, but was lovingly executed with care and genuine concern. Next we immersed ourselves in all the property had to offer. The Mantamar Beach Club provided exception dining, lounging and pool time as well as a relaxing day at the spa and beach. The property has it all, and more is to come. The Sky Bar will open in the fall on the 12th floor overlooking Vallarta and Banderas Bay, setting Almar apart from all the others. Four more floors of rooms and a Grand Pool and Restaurant with swim up bar will set Almar Resort above all the rest. When we booked our stay at the Resort, we did not know it was a time share property. But after the connection we made with the people that make it happen, we knew we wanted to be a part of it. And both I and my friend became members in Puerto Vallarta's ONLY Five Star LGBT (Straight Friendly) Resort. We can't wait to go back!

This building is beautiful and in an unbeatable location. The staff treats everyone like they are their only guest and go above and beyond with everything they do. The views are breathtaking and the beach club is fantastic. Plan on returning to this place in the future. For the price, you can't go wrong.
"Fabulous"
We were booked to stay for one week at the end of March but I loved it there so much we extended our stay an extra four days. The room was spacious well decorated immaculate love the double sinks in the bathroom wonderful ocean views. The beach club was nothing but perfect with the pool on the beach and the staff throughout was very attentive and friendly and accommodating at all times will definitely be back next year!!!
"First time with friends in Puerto Vallarta from other countries"
My experience at Almar was incredible!!!! I totally recommended!!! The staff were fantastic I personally met Alan and Alberto they were such a great hosts they where super accommodating and gentle. Ana she works the night shift and she was an amazing receptionist together with Reyes providing me with whatever my need was and right on time. The staff at Mantamar beach club were amazing! The rooms were fantastic! The beds super comfortable and the views were breathtaking! plus you have L'OCCITANE for toiletries in your shower and bathroom. What else can you ask for? The cleaning lady's where amazing. In one sentence I totally recommend staying at Almar resort luxury all suites and spa. I'm very picky traveler I have stay in some of the most amazing hotels all over the world and for me this place was amazing! Thanks to all who work at Almar I had a gear and pleasant stay at your resort!
"Highly recommend"
I was very impressed, especially after being a little "iffy" after reading the construction noise reviews. There was none! The hotel was beautiful, with rooms overlooking the beach, the staff was very nice and professional, and the service overall was excellent. The included breakfast was not your ordinary continental breakfast..it included amazing fresh squeezed juice, coffee, bread, and lots of tasty egg/pancake/fruit options! I was highly impressed by the whole stay and can't wait to come back!
"Outstanding!"
I was somewhat tentative about my stay based on some of the reviews regarding construction. I was pleasantly surprised and experienced no construction noise issues other than the entrance being built and some distant jackhammering the afternoon I arrived. The room and staff were fantastic! I had a large king room with an incredible full ocean view. My room did not have a fridge and lacked a wardrobe or closet but this was not an issue for me. Otherwise it was large, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bed was amazing and the huge bathroom and shower... fantastic. The staff and service rivaled some of the best. Full access to Mantamar Beach Club was the icing on the cake. This is the most high end facility on the beach. The hotel on the next block does get loud at night but only if you have the balcony doors open. Once the construction is complete this will be a 5-star plus facility. I would stay here again on future trips and recommend to friends.
"Suave!"
I booked this hotel/resort last minute on HotelsTonight App (my go to app being a last minute traveler who works for an airline. I couldn't believe the price I received for 4 nights in that location. I read some reviews about noise because of nearby construction that made me skeptical but luckily I only saw construction in front of the building and never heard it. The photos represent exactly what you are getting. Amazing rooms, great air conditioning, water pressure, beds, toiletries (L'Occitane), views of the beach, access to the beach club and LGBTQ friendly. Immediately upon arrival I had help of bell boys retrieving my luggage from the taxi and a scrumptious was waiting for me while I checked in. Everyone was super friendly, spoke both english and spanish and greeted me. Checkin was easy (minus the part of the selling/promoting of the beach club cabanas). Security or hotel personal were always around to assist me, especially when I rolled up at 4am dying of hunger. They gave me a menu and my order was at my door in no time (ordered room service 2 nights both at super late hours). Only sad part: no tequila by the shot via room service?! My room had everything from a refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine and an array of dishes, cutting board, bottle opener, etc. The staff helped me with everything from calling mexico phone numbers, locating food and getting me a cab (when mine failed to show up). Given the service and friendliness of the staff at the hotel, I will definitely make this my go to hotel in the future. Thank you for a great weekend!
"Great location"
This is a great location. We stayed on room 814 for a week. The room was great with ocean view (part to full). Very clean room with a nice full kitchen, dining table, multiple seatings. The shower worked very nice. The bathroom had a great working fan. Everyone was very helpful. Constructions were going all around the PV, but we were lucky that never heard anything. Our only complain is about neighbors. There are doors connecting the rooms on both sides. Those (and the walls) were not sound proof. For couple nights, we had neighbors coming in to their room after 3am or 4 am and screaming while having action with their guest. The breakfast was included on our reservation and it was satisfactory. At Mandamar beach club, you can easily reserve your beach chairs and the staff was very friendly. If their prices stay at the same level, we will definitely stay again.
