We had a nice stay here and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and it had a small balcony and view of the ocean. They had a large pool and patio area, but most of our time was spent on the beach. This hotel is away from the crowds but still close enough to The Speedway and other Daytona attractions.

"Great Hotel"
This is the second year we have picked this hotel for our Bead Weekend Retreat. We had 12 people and had a great time. We rented the meeting room and beaded all weekend. There was a small mixup on my room but it was rectified and we loved the ocean front room we stayed in. The room was great and it was nice watching the sun come up over the ocean. We hope to come back again next year. All of the front desk people were super helpful and nice.
"Perfect trip with two granddaughters"
We loved our trip to Daytona Beach, Florida. The Castillo del Sol always provides us with a happy experience. We like being away from the crowds of Daytona Beach, but close enough to go there when we want to. Our large rooms were well appointed with complete kitchens, comfortable beds, and good showers. The balconys overlooked the beautiful uncrowded beach. A nice touch was the good, strong room darkening shade. Good restaurants are close by and our granddaughters enjoyed the hotel's buffet for breakfast and also the fire by the pool at night. We recommend this hotel for couples or families.

We had a nice stay here and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and it had a small balcony and view of the ocean. "making a weekend trip any day of the week."
we decided to take a 3 day trip to daytona beach last week. we wound up at a hotel we had stayed in with friends many years ago with friends. we liked it them and decided to go there. it was the castillo del sol, in daytona beach, florida. we arrived late on sunday, and were greated by the clerk on duty, natalie hall. she was friendly and extremely helpful. we asked for a 1st floor room and she was able to accommodate us without a hitch. we were in room #107 facing the ocean. it was large, with 2 queen beds (very comfortable) and small kitchen area and a perfectly nice bathroom. tv was new, there was a table to eat on, and an area with lamps to read at, all in all a very nice room. there was no street noise obviously, but the sound of the ocean when the sliders were open was wonderful. even the sliders were heavy, double pane glass that made you feel very secure when closed and locked. we had a view of the pool as well as the ocean. an almost full breakfast, cereals, scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, all kinds of breads and some pastry and lots of other items were included free and the restaurant was open until 10 a.m. i had occasion to go to the front desk late on monday night and had my question answered, but also had a very nice conversation with natalie who was working that night. she is such a helpful, understanding, pleasant person that it was a joy to speak with her and really a good representative of the hotel. we had a wonderful time and we shall be returning to this hotel again and again in the near future.
"Pleasant"
I found the hotel as I had expected it to be - clean, quiet and convenient. Everyone was nice. My only problem was that the clock on the clock radio had its own definition of time. Fortunately, I was using my cell phone alarm anyway. I reported it to the front desk when I left and I am sure the problem has been attended to.
"Weekend Get-away"
We had a very enjoyable stay. Hotel room was nicely furnished and decorated and very clean with nice ocean views and sounds of the surf from our balconies. Breakfast room was bright, spacious and clean, and the many food choices, including scrambled eggs and sausage, were kept well stocked. Hotel employees were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is located close to shopping areas and other dinning. Will definitely return.

I am handicapped and they even took my luggage up for me. These people are very nice and wanted to make sure all my needs were meet.

"Wonderful Time"
We booked at this hotel because of the location. It was a wonderful choice. The price was great, the room was nice with a full kitchen and balcony right on the ocean. It was clean and comfortable, no bugs. The staff was very nice. I will definitely stay here again and again. May become my new favorite place.

Best Western Ormond Beach Florida is amazing! My second visit, my husband's first. We had an amazing time and the staff were great. We will be back soon. Would highly recommend to any one visiting the Daytona area.
"Great location"
The hotel is in a great location just 10 minutes from I95 with its own free parking and right on the beach. We were given an Ocean View 2 Queen bed room on the 2nd floor. The exterior could as always with this type of hotel do with a bit of TLC however, the room was well appointed and very clean. Each room has a balcony with a couple of chairs to sit and enjoy the view. There is an outdoor pool with plenty of sun beds it is just a step through a gate and down 3 steps and there you are on the world famous Daytona Beach sand, Breakfast was the usual Best Western fare not fantastic but enough to keep you going for the day. I would stay here again.
"Great stay!"
I was staying in town for a wedding close by and came across this online. The hotel was great, location is close to I95, maybe 10 minutes East. The room was huge- I asked for a king room with ocean view - it was a 3 room suite- it's own living room with pull out couch, jacuzzi tub in bathroom, separate sink and mirror area and a separate bedroom with the king bed. There was even a kitchen with a table and basic dishes so you can cook. I had 2 balconys looking north towards the ocean. Even though it was not ocean front the view was nice and the huge room was worth it. Also the pool and fire pit area was so nice, lots of lounge chairs and right on the beach. This hotel was worth the price!
"Great getaway weekend - not over priced"
This is an older typical beachfront hotel and while it shows a little wear, it is a lovely and friendly hotel with exceptional views. We found our ocean view suite to be clean and well furnished, the bed very comfortable and the balcony although small was positioned with a great water view as well as a good view up the coastline. The suite had a nice sized jacuzzi which we didn't use but I imagined it would provide a nice relaxing soak. The pool is very large and provided plenty of room to stay away from splashing kids. There were lots of lounge chairs around the pool, enough for everyone for sure. I spent most of my time on the beach and found that the gate behind the pool to be easy access to the sand. There was also a little faucet to wash the sand off before re-entering the pool area. Fairly priced and clean, friendly staff and in a great location with lots of good food options nearby - enough to entice me to stay here again and again!
"Wonderful Experience"
We come down for family vacation and always stay at Castillo Del Sol in Ormond Beach. The hotel is amazing, clean, and convenient. The staff are caring, kind, and helpful. We have stayed there for 6 years, sometimes two or three times a year, and never have a complaint. I recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
"Very clean and beautiful views."
The hotel is very clean and has beautiful ocean front views. It has 7 floors. Not all the rooms are ocean front. It costs a little extra to stay in an ocean front view, but is worth it. The ocean front rooms have little balconies with two chairs. The staff is very courteous and they try to accommodate you based on your request. The rate includes hot breakfast and it's self serve. It has a nice pool and it is only steps away from the ocean. No bugs. It is located at Ormond Beach and only a mile away from the amusement park, mall and other stores. The rooms are affordable and comfortable. They also have free WIFI and the ocean front rooms have a kitchen. Their restaurant is only open for breakfast, so when you get hungry later on, you will need to order food or simply go out to a nice restaurant. Their pool area has many chairs to sit and tan. Overall, it is a nice, quiet hotel to relax with friends, a significant other, family or even solo.
"Great time away"
Love this place!! I've stayed here a few times and will return again as soon as possible. Right on the beach, great pool area, free breakfast, wonderful staff and super clean rooms. We did have a problem with the automatic lock on our door the last night and morning of our stay but in true Castillo Del Sol fashion the staff was right on top of it. Can not wait to get back!

I picked this hotel for my inlaws on their stay from Milwaukee. It overlooks the ocean and the room, the staff and every thing about this place was terrific.The best surprize was the excellent price! I will definitely recommend Castillo Del Sol to everyone!

The stay was memorable from beginning to end. The hot breakfast was well maintained by the staff person. Our housekeeper was outstanding. The view from the oceanfront room is beyond compare. We would stay again without hesitation.

Wonderful location, nice rooms. Very close to a lot of fun amenities. We had a view of the beach & had fun playing in the ocean. The hotel is reasonably close to the Daytona Beach boardwalk and all the fun there.

Our family stayed for the week at the Castillo del Sol and we were very satisfied with the stay. The view from our ocean front room was spectacular, the kitchen was a definite plus and the breakfast provided was absolutely everything our family loved. The entire staff from reception to housekeeping to maintenance were very helpful and friendly. Good job!

We had a terrific girls weekend here. Our room was spacious. Right on the ocean and had a full kitchen. The staff was so friendly and helpful. It was beautiful waking up to the sunrise in the morning and enjoying my coffee while walking on the beach. There are wonderful restaurants very close. A great weekend!

We had the perfect room and location to have my Daughters 23 birthday party at. The room was large and perfect for our get-to-gether. Best Western at Ormond Beach is a great deal and ideal location for any family or personal retreat. Great job
"Our new Summer vacation spot!"
This hotel will have our business from now on! For the last 22 years we have vacationed at the Daytona Beach area. We have found that Ormond Beach is the way to go. The beach is less crowded and more family oriented. The staff at the hotel was very good and attentive. The housekeeping staff was will to do whatever it took to make you happy. Groundsmen always kept the area clean and neat. They were friendly too!! Their free breakfast consisted of pancakes and/or waffles, pastries, muffins, choice of toast or English muffin. The eggs and sausage were cooked perfectly. They also offered a choice of four different cereals, oatmeal, fruit cup, yogurt, coffee, tea, and two juices. More than enough to make a person happy. Pool towels were always available. The pool was kept clean and was very nice. The firepit is a nice touch in the evening to sit and sip on a glass of wine or coffee. We spent five days there and hated to leave but we vowed we would be back!! And hopefully we will be back still this summer! There are great restaurants within a couple of miles, Charlie Horse is a great steak and seafood place, Pizza Hut and Burger King as well as a great Mexican spot. You won't be disappointed in this hotel if you are looking for a clean, neat, happy place to stay. By the way, the beds and pillows were great!!!

staff was very friendly and able to answer any questions. good at giving directions when not sure how to get somewhere. asked for late checkout because had to go to emergency room and wasn't sure how long it would take-they were more than happy to help in any way they could.
"Very impressed"
I was impressed with the hotel when we visited last month. We had an ocean front room on the second floor with a kitchenette and it was perfect. The room was clean, decent sized, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The safe door in our room broke and maintenance was up in 10 minutes to fix it right away. The workers at the front desk were very friendly and helpful as well. The free breakfast was good. The juice machine was awful though, but i'm not going to complain most hotels don't offer free breakfast. The lady who works in the dining area was very nice and made sure everything was filled and stocked. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again.
"Wow"
We have stayed here many times but something has happened! The place looks great . The breakfast was perfect... so much it was crowded every day. Quiet and family friendly. There are new rails on the balcony and watching the sunrise and the waves come in is so relaxing. If there was any room for improvement it would be more towels please .
