"Perfect from start to finish"
From the time when we checked in (and the professionalism of Michael at the front desk) to our check-out, we could have not asked for a better experience. Location is one thing, but what set this mini-vacay apart was the staff. Everybody was attentive and helpful, and really seemed to care. We highly recommend the Bilmar Beach Resort.
We stayed for 5 days in December with a 6 and 8 yr old. The rooms are a bit dated, but the hotel and facility is clean and the staff are exceptionally friendly! The front desk personnel were always happy to see us. People were always cleaning and sweeping. The parking lot is small, but the parking across the street is not that cumbersome. The resort fee covers breakfast for both kids, beach chair rental, kayak/paddleboard rental for 1 hour a day(didnt use - too cold),and some other amenities. Heated pools were clean and warm. The fee was fair, given what other hotels charge. They dont restock the coffee/tea/water in your room unless you ask...so make sure to ask! Overall, its a great family friendly hotel in a great location central to many activities and dining options. The onsite restaurants were good too - we had breakfast at the cafe and dinner at Sloppy Joes twice. We will likely be back!
"Relaxation and close fun"
I really enjoyed the location of this hotel and the fact that I could watch the sunrise and sunset. I loved that the rooms and grounds were clean and well maintained. The cafe cage and the sloppy Joes restaurant were on site and both had delicious food. I would recommend the egg omlet and the gulf sandwich. The shrimp and fish tacos at sloppy Joes was very good. Parking was good. The location to happening spots was perfect.
"Wonderful 3 days in December at the Bilmar!"
We arrived at the Bilmar early afternoon on a Thursday. The people at the desk were very nice and I assume because of it being the second week in December, it was a little slow. To our delight we got a free upgrade to a Deluxe room on the 7th floor of the tower. The room was awesome! Balcony overlooking the beach and pool, neat, clean and comfy! The Bilmar has two restaurants. One at the tower which served lunch and dinner, and another a little up the beach (north?) which served a great breakfast. Both restaurants at reasonable prices. Food was very good and the service was good too. The Bilmar is centrally located near John's Pass (very cool), Madeira Beach, St Pete Beach, and Pass-a-Grille Beach. We even mingled with the locals on a Christmas Stroll Friday night in Sunset Beach! Lots of fun!
Walgreens, and Publix are within walking distance, and a great bar, Ricky T's, is right across the street. Saw a great Bluegrass band there... Corn Fused. And at the end of the night, just walk across the street and you're home!
We really enjoyed our stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.
"rooms modern neat clean, beautiful view of sunset, nice restaurant and outside dining"
really had a good experience check in staff friendly and courteous, rooms updated and modern and clean. took advantage of the island hopper which was recommended by your staff. would love to come back in October of next year
This is our second time to the resort and it has become a favorite! From the time we checked in to we were treated very kindly! We happened upon the resort through AArp and like it because you can walk to restaurants, you have a great view of the Gulf and even out the front door you can people watch! The walkway is great for exercise and just strolling. We cannot wait to go back, and watch the weddings on the beach to the sandscupture competition along with beautiful weather!
The young man who checked us in gave us awesome and fast friendly service with gifts and coupons for breakfast! Love Love Love this place!!!!!!!We travel plenty!
This is our 3rd time at this resort and It was wonderful. The staff was great and easy to talk to, the room was very clean and the complex is very well kept inside and out. The location is perfect. Can't wait to go back again next year.
"Great for newlyweds"
We stayed 3 nights at the penthouse suite for our wedding weekend and we absolutely loved it! Great customer service and the view is beautiful! We had a hotel room block for our guests to stay as well and everyone loved it as well.
We enjoyed the surroundings, the room, staff, food~ overall = wonderful! It was just what we needed to breathe, soak up sun, rest~ and enjoy the festivities! We went at the end of the Treasure Is. sand castle building~ which was fabulous! Gorgeous weather, a great balcony view of surf n' sand! Enjoyed the beautiful sunsets, too!
"Another excellent vacation!"
Rooms are comfortable, clean and modern. Great amenities which allows me to keep snacks and beverages in my room. Location of the resort is perfect, in walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Staff are always willing to help you out and provide recommendations for dining and entertainment. This was my third solo vacation to the Bilmar and we already have it booked for spring!
"Great place to stay!"
The location is awesome! Our room was ready and so clean when we got there. It continued to be cleaned well each day. We enjoyed the balcony facing the ocean. The on-sight restaurant was very good and we found the staff to be helpful.
"Some relaxation in the sun."
The staff at the Bilmar Beach Resort are so friendly and accommodating. They provided the best experience I could have ever dreamed of. Bringing my sister who needed wheel chair assistance was not a problem at all. They even offered a chair to cruise on the beach with.
"Wedding at Bilmar"
The Bilmar Beach Resort was an excellent place to have a wedding the atmosphere, Staff and the location was in a centralized location which made it the idea Resort for our stay. The price of the rooms was great and the location to the beach and the views were awesome.
"2 Day Birthday Getaway"
My sister and I stayed at the Bilmar for my birthday. The resort is very nice and clean. The staff members that checked us in were very nice (do not remember the gentleman's name but he worked the evening of 12/4)... the epitome of customer service. The room had a beautiful view of the beach and sunset. There are two heated pools and one hot tub (hot tub wasn't "fully" working while we were there but it was ok). The hotel has a restaurant, items are moderately priced. Breakfast is not included. The beach was absolutely gorgeous and clean...not too crowded. The hotel gives you beach chairs if needed. There were a few restaurants in walking distance. I would stay here again.
Absolutely one of the best places to stay. Got married on the beach & had a wonderful time. The staff was astounding. Right in the center of all the action. Everything is in walking distance. Us & our friends will be back next year. The sand carvings were great. A great time to go.
"Stayed one Night and loved it"
We stayed here during a wedding and the party had reserved a block of rooms. The room had a great view of the beach. It was very clean and the shower had great water pressure. I was a little disappointed that our room only had 2 double beds and not 1 large king. My wife and I really enjoyed it though in the end. We were out late and crashed hard. After sweating it up in one bed I was able to get into the second and go full starfish.
What really made things excellent though was the amenities. We enjoyed our meal at their beach front restaurant. We also took advantage of the free bike rentals on our lazy day the next day. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely return again.
Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff, our room was big, clean, & comfortable. They have a lot of amenities included. There are 2 restaurants on property with beachside seating & the food is yummy. The prices weren't bad compared to some of the other beachside dining we had during our stay. We came as a couple but will definitely return with the children. I am not easily impressed by hotels but I just love this place. I felt welcome, comfy, & relaxed. I highly recommend the Bilmar. I can't wait to visit again.
We had a Gulf of Mexico view. It was fantastic. The rooms were clean. We loved all the restaurants around the hotel. We could walk pretty much anywhere. The beach was fantastic as well. They gave you 2 free chairs and you could use a paddle board or kayak for an hour each day. When I got stung by a stingray, the hotel staff was fantastic and took care of my injury. It was nothing serious. The hotel staff our entire stay were great and gave us great places to eat. We vacationed with an 11 and 12 year old and had a blast. It was sad to leave and I would love to go back!
Stayed for 6nights, they upgraded our room at no extra charge. We had beachfront out patio doors and pool right out back door, awesome. Weather was perfect, went for sun and heat and got both. On the day before we left my husband was stung by a stingray. Hotel staff was amazing in their handling of this. They treated it the same way it would have been looked after if we had gone to the hospital. Thank you, you were all fantastic. Great food, spotless room, and amazing staff, we couldn't have asked for more. We will go back.
Also went to John's Pass, ate at Friendly Fisherman restaurant and Sculley's Restaurant, both places were awesome busy but worth the wait. We sat out on the decks overlooking the water and watched the pelicans and egrets fishing, fantastic.
We also went on the "Dolphin Quest", which was wonderful, I have wanted to see dolphins up close and this tour didn't disappoint. I got some amazing pictures. Thank you.
"Unexpected respite by the Gulf."
Booked The Bilmar at the last minute when my husband's back surgery in Tampa was cancelled after 4 very stressful days, couldn't fly back home for 4 more days. We had stayed at the Bilmar twice in the past and had great experiences both times, wonderful memories, and decided to get the heck out of Tampa to head for Treasure Island for some Gulf therapy. We knew we would be treated wonderfully and weren't disappointed. We hope to return soon, for a longer stay next time. Can't say enough good things about all the staff.
"One of my favorites"
I stay here pretty regularly with my family. my wife and I got married here six years ago. Although the outside is a little dated it's a very charming hotel lots of amenities right in the middle of the town. There's always something going on on the beach in front of the hotel. The staff is always very courteous and friendly. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. The Bilmar Is definitely a regular for my family staycation's.
"Great Property Right on the Beach"
This is not a new property; it's been around for a while, but has been kept in very good shape. Rooms have been up-dated periodically. Everything I needed was there - Sloppy Joe's is a great restaurant, two pools, one just below my room in the towers, wifi, TV, and a comfortable bed. I'm happy!
"Great location. Everything good"
Stayed here for a week. The location is excellent. We had a seventh floor room with a beautiful view of the beach. Sitting on the balcony was heaven. The beach is so unbelievably clean, there were three weddings on the beach while we were there.
The room was spacious and had everything you could need. The room was cleaned to perfection every day. Absolutely spotless.
It was a short walk to local restaurants. We particularly liked Captain Bills. The local Bilmar Cafe and Sloppy Joes are also good.
A great place to stay on Treasure Island.
