"Don't Be Fooled by the bad reviews it's FINE!! We had a GREAT time!"
I was nervous to come here after the horrible reviews given to this place but I was impressed for the price it was great and my family had a wonderful time! We stayed in a one bedroom villa and it was clean, spacious and had 2 nice flat screen TVs and anything else we would need. Beds were comfortable, shower pressure was great with a garden tub. Huge walk-in closet and washer/dryer, etc! The price was a lot cheaper than a regular hotel like Holiday Inn which doesn't have the kitchen, resort style pool with music or tiki bar or kids activities or free mini golf or all the other things included at Calypso Cay. The staff was super friendly and in regard to pool towels you just ask the front desk and they give them to you. I think the people who wrote the bad reviews just had one negative thing happen and then decided to bash the hotel. It's most definitely not the "worst resort ever" and as far as me and my family are concerned for the price it's WAY better than what you get at the normal chain hotels!!! Don't let the reviews fool you, the place is VERY nice and your family will have fun here. If course If you'd prefer to spend an additional $200+ a night for a similar place at Disney you will enjoy it too I'm sure but Calypso Cay suited us just fine and we were very happy with it! I'm glad I took the chance and didn't listen to the negative reviews and instead listened to the positive ones!
"Is a nice place"
I was concerned about coming to Calypso Cay, but found it to be quite nice. There are three pools. Two pools for kids/families and one more for adults, can swim laps. The service at check in was fast, friendly, and efficient. The Tiki B ar was open until late and the service and food was good. Our room was clean, had a washer/dryer, ironing board, vacuum. The appliances were not top of the line, but they worked well. The place was clean and there were no odors. There were flat screen TVs in both the living room and bedroom. The WiFi worked OK. I would stay here again.
"Repeat Visitor"
We have stayed at this property for the last two years in a row, this year for 14 days. Our unit was extremely large and had everything we could want or need. Our pull out sofa was old and should be replaced and one of the tubs could use a little TLC but the beds were comfortable and the amenities are exactly what we like. More importantly, the activity coordinator is fantastic and such a great person. She works hard to involve as many of the kids as possible in the activities and both of my boys plan their days around the activities. We will be back again.
"Had A Great Stay"
Listen, is this the Grand Floridian? No. Doesn't claim to be. But we had a 3-bedroom villa for us, our 3 kids and my parents (that's a total of 7 guests for those playing along at home.) And I might add their two ECV's parked in the living room. We still had plenty of room. The room was clean and comfortable (the shower pressure could be better.) I didn't have a ton of staff encounters but when I did they were always friendly and courteous. And the location is great for both major theme parks. We could get to Epcot or Magic Kingdom in 10 - 15 min. You can't even do that from every Disney hotel. My only negative: the fact we had to drive everywhere. The "convenient" shuttle service is not so convenient. Can't accommodate wheelchairs or ECV's and for Disney they only go to Epcot. That may be a Disney thing to keep outside companies out, but it's still annoying. Plus their pickup and drop-off times were very limited. It was worth it to pay the $17 to park. Unless you're going to Epcot at night in which case you might need a ride after! We loved Calypso Cay, had wonderful family days by the pool - the bar staff was incredibly friendly and the food out there was delicious. Try the chipotle chicken wrap (not sure the actual name) - it was incredible! And you won't find $2.75 rum runners at any Disney or Universal hotel bar! This hotel is as good as any Disney Value resort and as many of their Moderates. The only issue was transportation - but if you're really looking to save money and just want a fun place to crash and hit the pool a few times, I'd recommend Calypso Cay any day.

"A beautiful Resort"
I guess not many people read the reviews because the resort is sold out and full of very happy, active families. My husband and I are in our 70's and have stayed in several resorts in this area over the years. Most resorts have issues. This is our first stay here and like many others we were really worried after reading the reviews. I now realize that a lot of the negatives were small things regarding the Inn and not the Villas . Right from our arrival at the Villa check in desk to arriving in our Villa we had wonderful assistance and service. Michelle and Denise at check-in did everything possible to accommodate my husband who is disabled and we thank them. I also watched them try to solve problems for people whose booking agents had messed things up. Attitude means a lot if you want to enjoy your vacation. You can let the little things go and enjoy yourself or you can ruin your own vacation. This resort is beautiful with 3 pools with water slides, 2 saunas, mini golf, basketball net, game room, etc. It is a great family resort. There is free coffee available 24/7 near the front desk for all guests. The front desk staff at the Inn were friendly and in fact every staff member we have come in contact with has a smile and a hello for us. The grounds are clean and beautiful and the units are roomy and clean with a washer and dryer, free Wi-Fi and screened balconies. Renovations are ongoing so some have been updated and others are waiting their turn. We have stayed in 4 and 5 star resorts that are cold and uncaring and this resort feels compact, inviting and friendly. We will be back.
"Well located, caribbean feel"
We stayed 4 nights at this hotel and focused mostly in the theme parks however there are many amenities in this hotel/resort. We got a room in the 5th floor an have no major complains. Sure the room has had better days but it does perfectly the job crashing after a long day at the parks or oulet stores. The complementary breakfast its ok and the pool area its attractive. I liked how there is caribbean music in the background in most areas. I will recommend this hotel since it is so well located.
"Condo units are great. No troubles."
I was a little nervous of this place because after booking this trip through my condo company I went to trip advisor and read the reviews. It was getting horrible to mediocre reviews. I was given a room accross the street (building 23), which people had complained about. Not a big deal at all. A short walk to the pool areas. My room view was gorgeous, I had the first floor overlooking a small pond. A group of ducks visited daily. When I checked in, the slider door on my patio wouldn't lock. (oh boy, I thought). I called the desk to report this, they sent maintenence over and had it fixed before I was unpacked. The desk actually called me back a few hours later to verify that the work was done and that I was happy. Execellent service. I walked the grounds and road through the resort daily and felt safe (and I'm a worry wart, so that says alot). It's within a half mile of a Walmart, so if you need anything it's not far away. Restaurants in abundance in the area, and very close to the Disney parks. Free wifi in the room, no problem running 2 tablets and 2 phones all week. I enjoyed it there, don't let the bad reviews sway you away.

"Huge difference in reviews"
Again having read the reviews which to be fair were mostly negative. I arrived not expecting great things. My 3 bed was huge and modern. Complex was clean and gardens well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only negative I can find is the WIFI is worse than crap. When available in the rooms it is weak at best and keeps disconnecting meaning you have to continually log in again and again and we'll you get the picture. Highly recommend the place though

I like to read hotel reviews so I felt compelled to say do jot focus on the negative reviews about this place! My family of 5 had a 2 bedroom villa and it was extremely spacious! Each room had king beds and pull out sofas in the living room. The larger unit had huge family kitchen an living space, each unit with balconies. We were overwhelmed by the space and cleanliness especially after reading negative reviews my family and I lugged our own sheets and towels which we didn't need because the linens were clean. Yes the place is a bit dated, older tv units, but who has time to watch tv on vacation. We tuned in for news and our kids were fine with them since there was satellite! My kids loved the grounds playing tennis and basketball and cooling off in the pool. The front desk provided a basketball which we returned at end of stay. Very close to attractions on the tourist strip. Walmart adjacent. Best family stay. Will be back
"Orlando vacation"
Just wanted to write this and say I was very impressed with calypso cay villas been to Orlando 6 times and by far best stay.We were greeted by a friendly staff that helped us when marketing couldn't. This is the closest resort to Disney then any other resort I stayed at.my villa was huge and very clean.when we went to pools the kids loved that they could play basketball and go swimming when they got hot.Great resort highly recommend it
"Amazing place great location"
Lots of activities great family orientated loved the resort had the opportunity to speak to owners super happy with there timeshare I'm an exchanger one of the best properties I've visted.. Also had the oportunity to tour the property and also became an owner with Darren my family and I loved the 3/3 unit over looking the pools also the music the atmosphere was great...... Will visit again can't wait till my next vacation.
"Amazing staff great resort"
To start from the first moment we stepped into the Lobby we had friendly staff, one person specially stud out from the rest, a very happy and bubbly young lady, her name is Glorymar. She welcomed us like if she knew us from a ways away and greeted us with so much joy that we could not help but to smile and laugh right along side her. She really seems to love her job and the guest that come in and out of the resort. As we were done with one of the most pleasant check in, we when to out rooms, they were very nice and clean, yes there were a few MINOR details here and there, the floor needed to be swept it he bathroom, but when I called the young lady in the front desk , the people were here in less than 15 min, and probably less than that. We stayed or 5 days and it was great, as I read a lot of the comments here I could tell they were made by very bitter people, that ar4e probably use to being cattered to, to an extreme or are perfectionist that cant see a single paper out of place, listen nothing inl ife is perfect some pay peanuts and expect to get the royal service, to the point as I was behind a lady that was swearing, screaming over some very nonsense type of thing, and about the front desk, all the comments about them being nasty are lies, the staff is nothing but respectful and kind, and if you are kind you will get kindness in return, if you are mean then guess what don't expect to get treated nicely if you cant even show the same courtesy, lot of people just comes here to batch companies, so shame on you. Finally the breakfast was great a nice FULL buffet of goodies, and tons of activities to do, don't listen to the reviews there just complaining because they dint get there way. Give it a try I surely did and will be coming back next year with even more family.
"Much better than expected."
My family spent the last weekend of November at Calypso Cay. Initially booked through an outside marketer that was terrible service (Newport News travel) and the bad reviews had us all very skeptical. However, for less that $250 we spent 3 nights in a 3 bedroom condo which was actually a two bedroom adjoining a one bedroom. This gave the 6 of us plenty of room and basically double everything including washer and dryers. We did have to participate in a sales pitch for 90 min but the staff were polite and pleasant. Excellent location for all the attractions. 5 min to Old Town. 15 to Magic Kingdom. Both rooms were clean and supplied with toiletries, kitchen soaps,etc. They do not however restock such items so for longer stays you'd definitely want to bring things from home or there is a Walmart less than a block away. The only real complaint is that our building faced the highway so the view wasn't very scenic, but from the area in general I'd say that is to be expected. The decks are screened and we were able to open windows for fresh air, but the truck traffic can be loud. Would recommend this location for staying in the Kissimmee/Orlando area especially if traveling to various theme parks.

This is a great, affordable place to stay. Close to Disney and walking distance to Walmart. Hotel staff is always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is nice, the pools are great, with lots to do such as mini golf, basketball, tikibar, grills, and music!

"Comfortable Stay,"
After an extremely long flight from Australia (32 hours in transit) the Calypso Cay complex was a reasonable surprise. Apartments were above average on what we had read through reviews. Very comfortable apartments, although a little dated and in need of an up grade. We enjoyed our 5 day stay and found the facilities in the resort excellent, pool and spa area was outstanding. The close proximity to Disneyworld and Universal Studios was also a benefit with the resort providing shuttle services to the attractions. Perhaps the highlight and most obliging staff member was Lee who was responsible for the running of the brekkie in the buffet. Yes we would go back to Calypso Cay in Kissimmee, Orlando.

We just got back from a short stay. We ended up in a one bedroom villa, the place was very clean and had lots of space! Was worried with all the bad reviews! Check in was fast and staff was pleasant to deal with! Will be back!!

Wonderful and friendly! Safety is a priority with cameras on property and not letting staff into rooms while you are staying there- important after being robbed the first night at Avanti Hotel Clean, beautiful rooms, lovely pool. Nicest people and extremely accommodating. Would recommend for sure!
"Hotel for Kids"
We have 2 young children and when planning our trips I try to find a place that will best suit them. First, the hotel is now called The Inn at Calypso. When researching hotels I saw pics of a pool with crabs spitting water out and a curvy slide. I figured this looks good. Also looking at some pics I saw a room that a pirate mural with bunk beds. My kids love pirates so I figured this is the pace. I was not disappointed. They had 3 pools on site. 1 big basic pool. 1 pool with 2 straight slides and 1 pool with the crabs and the curvy slide. In addition to the pools the have a spray area with water spraying from the ground and tubes where the kids can run around in and play. Also a hot tub for the adults and a playground. Also on site miniature golf. We were only there for 1 day but we made the most of it with the pools and playground. They have activities everyday for the kids witch i thought was cool. The day we were leaving they were having a movie night with free popcorn. It seems one of there main things is keeping kids entertained. They have a breakfast buffet that was really good. The room was clean. The kids loved there room with the pirate theme. Over all we really enjoyed our stay and plan to stay again. It's not a luxury hotel, but the price is right and the kids had a great time. Staff was wonderful too.
"Resort life at motel price, but 'dated'"
This property is now "the Inn at Calypso". I don't think that they could keep Country Inn and Suites standards. You can see the wear and tear on the building, carpeting, fixtures and decor. That being said, the grounds have resort style pools with zero depth entry, slides, a poolside bar and grill, a splash zone, a miniature golf course, play ground , a large hot tub, basketball court and volleyball court. The pillow top beds were comfortable, and it was convenient to have a fried in the room. The free breakfast was well stocked and a nice selection with hot items and waffle makers. Shop around, and you will get a great deal on the price. The family loved it. Close to all major attractions, easy to get into and out of. although we did not use it, they have a free shuttle to theme parks.

Amazing pools and property. Landscaped and beautiful. They do have issues at check in, but well worth the wait. Clean and curteous staff. Very nice miniature golf course. Rooms were large and well maintained
"Awesome Place for a Family to Stay"
We have stayed here 3 times in the past 5 years. My kids love it. Free breakfast every morning and cookies at night. 3 pools and putt putt golf. Close to Old Town and many restaurants. Disney is 10 mins away by car. Price was very good and property was clean along with courteous staff.
"Multiple pools with waterslides...dream for kids."
The hotel has a breakfast, great pools, wifi, and easy parking Included with the resort fee. The beds were comfortable and you cannot say enough about having a bedroom with a door when you're staying with kids. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating with regards to a late check out. During one of my stays at this facility I witnessed another guest being extremely rude with a staffer who never lost their cool. There are many good deals at this hotel-and as long as you pay a fair price you will be happy. As a sidenote there is a Bob Evans restaurant right around the corner which has good food at great prices.

For the price ($50/night) I can't really complain. The pool was decent and had lots of little things for children. The poolside bar was good to get a drink while laying out by the pool. The room was ok, typical room. It could be renovated a little though. The ceilings paint was cracking pretty bad and the walls could use a touch up.

We were down here a while ago to look for a house to buy and needed a place to stay. Got this at an AMAZING price and was plesantly surprised at the hotel. The location was great... the rooms were very nice and clean, and the breakfast was better than expected! This was an all around great hotel and really enjoyed it. Will DEFINITELY stay here again!

Hotel was way nicer than I expected! We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff were very friendly & went above & beyond to accomadate all of our needs! I come from a customer service background & their service was top notch! The facilities were also super nice. As a matter of fact my daughter wasn't impressed by Disney but was way more interested in swimming at 1 of the 3 pools on the property! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
"Excellent 5 night stay"
Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights last week (now renamed Inn at Calypso Cay). Room was very clean and tidy. Nice views over the pool. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was above average for this type of hotel. Good choice of breakfast items including some hot - also waffle maker for frwesh waffles. Very enjoyable stay. Fortunately the resort fee was waived for our stay, but still good value even if we had to pay it.
"First Trip to Disney and Universal"
Me and my friend had our first trip to this hotel to go to Disney and Universal. I tell you it was the best time of my life. The hotel and people in it were so extremly helpful. We went in November and we are now planning our second trip back here and I would not stay in any other hotel other then this one! Keep up the great work I will for sure be back.

We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites in Sept 2013 and found the hotel to be quite clean, quiet and very pleasant. Our room was really nice, clean, updated. Despite the other reviews, I KNEW ! at the time of booking there would be a $ 15 per night resort charge, and had no problem with it. The hotel gives the guests free breakfast everyday, free shuttle to the parks,(which the hotel pays the bus company for), free parking, so what are you people complaining about ? your just trying to get free stuff or whine about nothing so you get a discount on your room. My wife and I love this hotel and will stay there again. The pool area was really nice and they have miniature golf as well. Hotel is within a 10 minute walk to Walmart, restaurants, shopping on 535 .
"Always a great stay"
This is the second time I stay at a Country Inn hotel and I can say that it's always a pleasure. When I booked this hotel it's name was Country Inn Calypso and upon check-in I figured out the it's name had been changed to The Inn at Calypso just the day before I arrived. This hotel in Kissimmee is located in a calm and silent street. The hotel offers free parking, free full breakfast with waffles, bagels, muffins, fruits, juices, eggs, bacon, milk, cereals and so on, and free wifi in the common areas and in the rooms. Breakfast is served from 7am to 10:30am on weekends and from 6am to 9:30am on weekdays. The have plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate everyone. The have a 24h front desk with friendly people. They also have a tickets counter. The rooms are big and very clean and are provided with a flat screen tv, a coffee maker, a fridge, a microwave oven, a wired/wifi router and heating/air conditioning. The bathroom is clean and provided everyday with clean towels. I had some packages delivered to me and the helpful and friendly front desk took care of receiving and delivering them to me. Yes, they do charge you US$15/day for the resort fee and that is worth every penny. The pools are shared by all the hotels (3 or 4) in the resort and are very clean and have a bar that stays open and with music until midnight. The Inn at Calypso (former Country Inn Calypso) is close to two wal-marts, sam's club, target, fast food restaurants and very very very close to the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores and The Vineland Premium Outlet. If you're not driving, they do offer a shuttle to the Disney Parks. I stayed for 7 days and once again it was beyond my expectations. I would definitely stay at The Inn at Calypso again and again
"Pet Friendly but expensive"
Prices for people is comparable to others in the area. Pets were 20 per pet a night. I have two small chihuahuas so it got expensive. Cookies and water at the door. People working there were very friendly. Shower pressure was awesome.
"Our favourite vacation destination!"
I am at a loss when I read the negative reviews. We just recently returned from our second vacation at Country Inn & Suites. When we were planning this vacation,our kids immediately requested we go back there,they loved it so much last time.We had previously stayed at a Disney resort,and they liked Country Inn more. The staff are friendly and helpful,the rooms are clean,and the hot breakfast is quite a bonus.The pool areas are our absolute favourite feature and the location cannot be beat. We look forward to our next stay!
"Good Experience"
The room, pool, & tiki bar was Great. I would recommend that they order more washcloths & towels because it was really late in the evening before we were able to get washcloths. The front desk staff was very friendly & helpful!!
"Enjoyable Stay"
Stayed October 15 through 17. Our room was excellent.Clean, updated, with plenty of power outlets and a great workspace. I am a Club Carlson Gold member, so I was given a complimentary upgrade to a kid's suite, which has a small, pirate themed sleeping area with 2 beds that my son absolutely loved. The complimentary breakfast was good, nothing special, but not bad either, and saved us time and $$$ as we could fill up before starting our day. If you have kids, this is a great place as the complex has three pools, 2 with water slides. My son had a blast going back and forth between 2 pools, swimming and going down the slides. They also had an activity director who organized games for the kids all day, which was a bonus. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and professional. Overall, our stay was GREAT. My only complaint was the ridiculously loud DJ that blared music at the lighthouse pool from 5PM until 10 PM every day. I'm not sure, what demographic they were trying to appeal to, but I know many people moved when the dj started because the music was way too loud. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially travelers with children.
"Nice Hotel for the Price and Close to Disney!"
We stayed for 3 nights over the last weekend in September. It was a nice Hotel and great price for the quality. We usually stay cheap and this was an upgrade for the cheap price. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning. You can make your own waffles and choose some hot items such as eggs, sausage, etc... It is really convenient to Wal*Mart and we always need to shop there when we are traveling. The personnel were very nice and we didn't have any issues. Will definitely stay again if the prices are around what we were able to get this time. If not, we will look for our next cheap hotel!
"Great Stay!"
We stayed here 6 nights in mid September. Natalie, the front desk clerk, was awesome! She is a multitasking guru and so helpful and friendly. Our king suite was large and clean, comfy beds, clean sheets, plenty of pillows, clean bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, and two flat screens. The pools were nice, no fire ants in the hot tub (some of these reviewers are crazy, don't let them deter you from staying here). The breakfast was really good. They had 3 waffle makers so there was never a wait, pastries, bananas, cereal, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, and two rotating dishes like French toast and bacon, along with fresh coffee, juice, and milk. My only complaint is that the website says that they are 1.2 miles from the parks. I now know that the parks take up 48 square miles of land so that's impossible. The last available shuttle to the parks is at 12:50, so hopping on a shuttle to get dinner at downtown Disney isn't an option. A taxi to the park is about $30 each way. Also, there are no restaurants within walking distance, so that was pretty inconvenient. Overall, I would definitely stay here again! If you booked a room here and are now having buyers remorse from reading the negative reviews, don't. This place is great :)
"Affordable Stay"
Very Pleasent Staff and Quiet accomodations. Rooms were clean and freshly made-up every morning. The breakfest was hot and served with many choices. You won't be dissapointed. ( I did stay off season)
