"Excellent Vacation"
We had a wonderful time at Royal Solaris Los Cabos. This was our first visit and even though the Hurricane hit the 1st night (pools were closed and some of the restaurants)we met Santos and he made our stay enjoyable. I did not know anything about Cabo and I would have never returned if I wouldn't have met him because the taxi fares are $95.00 to Cabo round trip. He showed us where to catch the bus and all the tips. If you go to San Jose make sure you eat at Jazmin's. Wonderful experience and very nice restaurant. He is the nicest guy that showed us where to go and what to do in Cabo and San Jose. We booked on a promotion and went to the timeshare presentation and we are now members. I cannot wait to return to the Solaris Resorts. I want to also give a good word for Alex. He is a super nice guy! Thanks again Trainer Santos you are the best!!!!!
"Awesome long weekend"
We came to Royal Solaris for 3 nights last weekend. We were very pleasantly surprised!!!
I saw from other reviews that after checking in, they turn you over to a timeshare sales person. This DID happen, but they also seem to work as concierges for the resort. "Dr. J" was super helpful and gave us a map, activities schedule, explained all the restaurants and where they are. He even helped me make dinner reservations for that same night, which was my husband's birthday. We declined the timeshare presentation, and he never bothered us about it again. He even sent champagne to our room for my husband's birthday!
We loved our room. It was very large. The shower was fantastic, with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. We had a room with a view of town, and the balcony was small, but nice. We saw there was a little strip mall directly across the street with a spa and a market and pharmacy. We went to that spa and got an hour massage for $40 and it was fantastic! Much cheaper than the resort spa too!
The buffet was great for breakfast. We asked for bacon every day and they brought us a huge plate of it from the kitchen! Good juices too, not watered down!
Most days for lunch we had nachos or pizzas from the snack bar palapa place. We did buffet dinner one night, which was set up down by the theater. It was a good selection. The show was going on, so we ate dinner at a table with a bunch of strangers, so if you eat buffet on show night, go early!!!
We ate at the Mexican restaurant, Panchos, the first night. It was delicious and the service was amazing! Don't order every single course, or you'll be so stuffed you can't walk!
Most of the time we were here we stayed at the adult only pool. Plenty of seats in the shade and the pool is gorgeous! We had a bar waiter there, Eduardo, who was fantastic and kept drinks and bottled waters coming all day! He was excellent! Nobody comes early and reserves all the good chairs, so getting a seat every day was no problem! The beach is gorgeous. Lots of vendors but they don't really bother you. The waves are huge, so we saw right away why you can't swim here, but the pool was so nice we didn't even mind.
Of course, we wish we could have stayed longer. This resort was so much better than we expected! The other guests were very nice, and the staff was so friendly. Almost everyone spoke good English also!
"Great family trip to start the summer!!"
We went here as a list minute trip to celebrate the end of the school year with the kids. My kiddos were 8 and 9 when we went and this place was perfect! There was an amazing kids club, with water slides and endless activities where we could leave them to do their thing. The main pool was great for my husband and I to spend relaxing time alone or with the kiddos. There were tons of activities for everyone to enjoy. There was a very diverse group of guests at this hotel families, couples, and the party crowd, but everyone seemed to mingle well. There were nightly shows put on by the same staff that hosted most of the daytime entertainment. The shows were great and the staff was super engaging!!
"Good value for the price but tons of kids.."
I've stayed at RS Cancun and this one is much better. Pros: got a great 90 degree oceanview, stocked mini fridge, AC works great in room (yes it turns off while patio door is open..no biggie), fun shows in main lobby bar area, separate adult pool, no problems getting restaurant reservations, gorgeous stretch of beach with roped off area of beach loungers and palapas so you're not bothered by vendors if you want, multiple restaurant selections, food okay, staff super friendly, we never had timeshare even mentioned to us once (think the key is to say you're not married!), safe will hold a small laptop, nice bathroom/shower with great water pressure, super clean! Cons: Need ceiling fans at least in lobby bar area as there is no AC and it gets uncomfortable, far from Cabo but cab or buses available (most tours will pick up and drop off at hotel), tons of kids, adults let there kids come in the adult pool with their water noodles etc and waiter never said a word even though a maintenance worker did have them send one out an hour before (told front desk and they did agree that the waiter had a responsibility to monitor that..."to a degree"...what the hell does that mean?! That was the most disappointing issue we had. They need to have someone monitor it hourly) Other than that had a great time and WOULD def stay again! And a lovey lady (forgot her name Abbie?) used her cell phone to call our tour for the next day to confirm as time had changed and my phone wouldn't connect....now that's staff that goes above and beyond to ensure their guests are happy! Bought through Expedia and paid @ $720 pp with airfare from LAX on AA for 5 nights and were given free wi-fi for 7 days which we weren't even expecting. Out of town right now...will add pics soon :)
"Great end of summer vacation"
After staying in Cancun resorts for many years we decided to try something different. We were here first week of August. We are timeshare members, and yes, we were able to eat at a separate breakfast buffet and yes with bacon ....Lol. But in the other buffet we saw people asking for bacon and being served fresh!
We found the resort to be clean and attractive. Our rooms were nice and plenty of space. We found the service to be good, everyone was friendly. We thought the food was good and always found enough to eat. I would agree the burgers were not good at lunch but we found everything else to be good!
The pool was nice - we tried both the main pool and adult only. Chairs in the shade do go early. We ended up getting out there early and claiming chairs under an umbrella if we wanted shade (and our pale bods needed shade! Lol) Beach was very pretty but sand was so hot- you must wear shoes to get from pool to ocean or you will literally burn your feet!!!! We did wade in up to our knees and you could definitely feel the undertow! There were people out much further and usually got called in by security.
Our kids are young adults, but the kids play and waterpark area were amazing!!!! We all wished we were young enough to get in!!!! Lol
Overall I recommend this resort for a good quality vacation!!!! Not super luxury but very nice vacation
"Expectations Exceeded!"
Our first time in Los Cabos and our first time at an all-inclusive, so we were somewhat apprehensive after reading reviews both positive and negative. Not to worry! The property, albeit older, was beautiful, clean and well tended, particularly the day after Hurricane Newton! Personnel were helpful and gracious, and the food was amazingly good, varied and well-prepared. Perhaps the secret was going during the low season (we were there at the beginning of September), but I look forward to a return trip and would definitely book Royal Solaris again.
"Royal Solaris, Santos, & Nathalie."
My Friend and I went to San Jose del Cabo recently and had such a great time. From the moment we arrived we were treated so well. We were greeted by the best advisors and were indeed given all we were promised in accordance to our room. But our main advisor, Santos was just the best.
I cannot say enough, he ensured that we had all of the events at our disposal and sparred no effort to ensure that we had the greatest time. He gave us the best recommendations as well as the best methods of travel. He was more than just an advisor, but a friend, someone who we could confide in when we got lost or mixed up. He even came through for me, along with Nathalie, when I left my jacket and trousers in the hotel room and made sure that I retrieved my precious items in the mail quickly.
The beaches where beautiful, the atmosphere was just as promised, and Santos made it all even better, and Nathalie was there I had taken leave of my senses and left my valuables. I could write about them all day. Thank again you guys! Will be back sooner than later.
"Awesome time!"
Had a awesome time, staff was super friendly. Especially Santos, our concierge. He went out of his was and made our time comfortable. Will definetly visit this hotel
Again! The oceans are great and a lot of fun things to do.
"Great location"
Excellent service and variety of food, staff are extremely friendly and willing to make your stay memorable. When you take the time to get to know the staff you realize that they are genuinely committed to make your stay relaxing and fun.
"It was an experience of a lifetime!"
We just got hit with Hurricane Newton. I have never experienced a hurricane before. The effect to the hotel was quite bad, but at least not catastrophic. I commend all the staff for working so hard, and coming in to work the day of the hurricane and day after. They really tried their best to make your stay as convenient as possible. I know a lot of guests were complaining about the inconvenience, and I feel bad for them as I was also inconvenienced. But it's not the hotel's fault that a hurricane came on our vacation.
One thing that stood out was a housekeeper that was very honest. She found my iPad that I lost in a common area (where other guests could have also found it and possibly took it). She turned it in to the Front desk (others would have probably kept it for themselves). I was already frantic trying to locate it with my tracking device, and then she noticed me looking around, and she asked me if I was looking for something ( she didn't speak much english but I quite understood what she was saying.) I was so relieved that she found it, and I in turn gave her gratuity for it. Her name is Karina S.(4069).
Food and Beverage/ Kitchen staff, I commend you all for working hard!
It's not a 5 star but, I think, it's a good deal for what you pay for.
"!"
The Royal Solaris as a family hotel is well suited as it's equipped with a small water slide and children's pool (for young children) and arcade, ping pong and other various family entertainment. The main pool is fantastic! Located in close proximity of the rooms, and clean. Our hotel room was well kept. The most enjoyable part of this experience was dealing with the staff. They were all so accommodating, and extremely friendly and welcoming. As a gluten free individual I was worried I'd not be able to eat anything on our trip. However, with the help of Fernado, Dorian, Alejo, Arnold and Aimee, who serve at the restaurant's on the grounds I did not go hungry! They went out of their way to request food that met my dietary requirements. Which i can't say how appreciative I am to all of them.
"Lovely resort and staff. Iker made the experience for us"
Right as we stepped foot into the resort, we were greeted by Iker with a smiling face ready to assist us with anything we needed. He helped us our check-in process and informed us with everything we needed to know about the resort. Throughout our time there, Iker would check up on us while we were about the resort to ensure we were having the best time we could possibly have. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ASKING FOR HIM upon your arrival. The resort itself was very clean and all of the staff were very friendly. We booked the deluxe room and it was very open and spacious with comfortable bedding. If you are looking for a nice relaxing getaway, this is your place to go to!
"Very wonderful people and place"
This was an all inclusive weekend with another pair of couples and we loved it. This place was beautiful. The staff was the best part - they were all extremely nice and the service was top notch. Loved it.
"Very Relaxing Stay!!!"
My husband and I traveled 8/29-9/2. The hotel was very nice, clean and safe. We enjoyed the food, entertainment and pool staff. The food in the buffett was mostly mexican themed (your in Mexico). Drinks were abundant. We were approached by a timeshare rep immediately after check-in. We declined and were never asked again during our stay. The grounds are kept up quite nicely, and there is a mega mart within walking distance if you need anything. The staff were all wonderful and very accommodating. We have stayed at all inclusive hotels all over the world and this hotel was very good for the price. The room was clean and comfortable. Our housekeeper cleaned our room each day, including spraying down the balcony. The beach is absolutely beautiful, although not swimmable. The pool bar and snack bar does close at 6:00pm, which I thought was pretty bazaar. All in all we have a great time at the Royal Solaris.
"Great place to relax and gave fun"
We've been coming here for several years and love it. The staff are very friendly Ana greats us with a smile everyday and truly goes out of her way!! The Marco Polo and Pancho restaurants are fantastic and they serve the best mexican wine and go out of their way to get it for us. Every time were there they make sure to have extra!! The beach is clean always and the pool is just the right temperature. The staff on the whole resort is always friendly and they keep the whole place sparkling clean. Ramone at the pool serves us all day and we never have to wait for a drink!! It's our home away from home and they always make us feel like we belong. Can't wait to go back in october to see the turtles and hug my friends !!
"Sanchez Family Vacation"
This was our first time coming to this Resort and we absolutely loved it!! The service here was amazing, all of the personnel were very attentive to our needs we absolutely loved their all inclusiveness, the food was really great we were here for 7 Nights and everyday they had a great variety of food options, the entertainment team is awesome!! I would like to acknowledge Lauren, April , Alanah, Haruy, Maitte, Jair, Juan, Memory and MOTTO! This crew does an outstanding job entertaining throughout the day, there is always something going on.
"Good for children"
It's good place for a family vacation, especially if they young. For adult, it's kind of noisy. Rooms are clean, shower's doors are leaking outside in the bathroom floor. Food is good and variety. Every night show is awesome. Employees are doing their best to please everyone.
They don't wash around the pools or the the seats, that is why there is lot of ants. some hosing every night will wash it out.
"Royal Solaris is our favorite vacation resort in Los Cabos"
We know we are in the best of hands when Anna Estrada is our representative. Our excursions, our reservations for Marco Polo restaurant, and anything we need is taken care of. We are greeted with a hug and a smile. We have been coming to the Royal Solaris for years and it is so much fun. The staff all know our names from Omar taking our baggage, Mathias at breakfast, Isidro at dinner in Marco Polo,Carlos on the beach and. Of course Anna, our wonderful friend and representative. We truly get our money's worth. The excursions we have taken are wonderful. A camel ride, a sunset cruise, a snorkeling trip, zip lining are among many to choose from. Again, the food is great, the staff is friendly, and we are truly at our home away from home. Thank you, Anna, and the wonderful staff for making our trip so much fun and worry free.
"Wonderful Oceanview 4 night stay"
We stayed at this resort for 4 nights, Friday to Tuesday. We loved this resort. The room was clean and well maintained, and the staff were always friendly and accommodating. Our room was on the 6th floor and had a beautiful view of the pool and ocean. It was a great location and was very quiet. The poolside bar was fantastic as was the food offered in all locations. We had lots of choices and never got bored of the options. My only tip would be to get to the pool early if you want a lounge chair. We never seemed to use them tho as we were always in the water. The entertainment was great, absolutely no complaints! As stated in other reviews, you cannot swim in the ocean due to the strong current but that didn't phase us. We had a fantastic experience and would definitely go back!
"The best hotel"
Our vacation was fantastic. Ana are member service representative made everything wonderful. We were able to get great dinner reservations and spa reservations. I can't wait to bring my family back. I make certain to request Ana as our representative.
"The staff make this place worth staying"
This is an all inclusive resort. They have so many things/events at the hotel you never have to leave. Ana Estrada was our concierge and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. She was able to handle a group of 25 people like she was dealing with a single couple. She knows the area well and has good recommendations should you decide to leave for other than an excursion. Nubia handled the booking of 8 plus rooms with efficiency and responded to my within a couple of hours. When we stayed the hotel was in transition with their food manager. The choices and quality of food was not as good as it normally is but still well worth the price. That is why I am rating a 4 instead of 5. However Ana and Nubia rate a 5 along with Jose and my favorite bellhop. For some reason his name is escaping me.
"There's always room for important, pretty damn close to perfect."
Two birthdays to celebrate with our party of five. Staff were friendly from check-in to check-out, bartenders work long hours although cater to your request with a smile. Always. Rooms were clean, a bit dated although did the job. Resort grounds were impeccable, maintained daily and of importance for being older. Drinks were cold, food was hot and the weather hotter. Overall, it was a great vacation - reasonably priced with lots of events and variation. We will be back again in the future.
