We just finished a week vacation at the Grand Sirenis. We booked through BookVIP and I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the entire trip, all the way from booking through the conclusion of the trip. We got a phenomenal deal and had an excellent trip!

Written Review

"Relaxed night in"
My significant other and I arrived and were immediately greeted by warm, smiling faces. Checking in was quick and easy, no confusion or fuss which was excellent after a four hour drive! They had an up and running hot tub (so relaxing and actually clean--hard to find these days so it seems) and not a bunch of kids in it (double plus!) Breakfast was great too..lots of options even with my food allergies which is a relief! We will be back for a longer stay next time so we can get to the ski runs that are super close by.
"Friendly Family Resort"
The two bedroom suite has lot to be desired. The dishes were dirty and smelled musty and windows did not lock and were dirty. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Apollo the airtist was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of activities for young children. The breakfast was fairly good and included in the stay for upto 6 adults. However were very quick to remove everything including coffee as soon as it was 10:00am. The place needs better housekeeping. The location is excellent.
"Great Value, Excellent Staff"
We stayed in the two bedroom suite and it was wonderful! We got a great deal from Living Social and weren't sure how it would be, but it was perfect for us. We were 4 adults, but it would be great for families too. There is a livingroom with a pull-out couch, so you could sleep 6. The kitchen was convenient and well-stocked. Full breakfast is included, very generous with the wine and cheese at 4 pm, and they have activities for kids on the weekends. Craig at the front desk was very knowledgeable about the area and sent us on some great hikes that were perfect for us. Taneka helped us find what we needed in town and sent us to a good pizza place for dinner, Base Camp Pizza. It's also a 3 minute walk to shopping and movies.
"Great Hospitality"
Having a full kitchen and dining area in the room is really nice. The free breakfast is awesome, as are the wine and cheese social, the hot chocolate hour and from the happy faces on the kids, I'm guessing the kids activities are pretty fun too. They also have movie nights and so much more! They are a short walk from the grocery store, shops, movie theater and casinos. Really - maybe 5 minutes walk, so not having to drive anywhere is a huge plus too! Also, the are 2 minutes from the heavenly gondola. The staff is always nice, welcoming and they seem to really enjoy their jobs. Great customer service. The only complaint that I would have is that the rooms are a bit dated, seriously old-school TV and furniture, but everything in the room is comfortable. The prices are so reasonable, I would highly recommend a stay to anyone looking for a great hotel for a great price.
"Great hospitality"
Stayed in the two bedroom suite with four adults. Comfortable space, but I would not consider this totally remodeled. The rooms are old apartments converted to hotel suites. Old kitchen, old bathrooms, old windows, etc., but it was very clean and the furniture was comfortable. Many activities are offered which included wine and cheese reception, free breakfast, artist in house gave a showing, art for kids, movie nights for kids, excercise classes, etc. There was a lot to choose from, very nice and the staff was friendly. Walking distance to casinos, movie theaters, restaurants and stores. Overall I would recommend.
"Family trip to Tahoe"
We got a late start driving to Tahoe so we arrived late at night. We were tired of driving and had no idea what to expect when we drove up. A friend recommended this hotel because we have a 5 year old and a toddler. I thought because of how affordable the rate was that the hotel would be just mediocre however we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel was easy to find and very close to everything in South Lake Tahoe. We pulled up late at night to a well lit covered parking and walked into a big open lobby with high vaulted ceilings, a large fire place and couches. The staff was great! They were professional and happy. There was a coffee station with Starbucks Coffee which made me very happy to know I could grab good coffee anytime of day. We reserved a 2 bedroom 2 bath suit which came with a nice kitchen and a round dinning table perfect for our family. The kitchen was great! It had everything we needed to cook all of our family meals. It was like our own little apartment/condo in Tahoe. Everything in our room was clean and in working order. We didn't have time to get groceries before our trip so we opted to grab some free breakfast at the lobby in the morning. Breakfast was a step up from the normal cereal and milk. There was a full lay out of hot food for our family. We tanked up on eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, yogurt, toast, coffee etc and then we went on our way. This hot breakfast was a huge added value to our stay. Going out to breakfast would have cost us money and would have taken up a big chunk of morning time. So we loved that we left the hotel ready to tour beautiful Lake Tahoe.
"Great short trip"
This was my 4th stay at Forest Suites Resort, and it was just a good as my previous visits. My family, friends and I went to the casinos right next door, right in walking distance and had a great time. Forest suites has a great location to walk to many local places. odds are if you are in tahoe you drove a lot to get there, so why not walk around instead of drive? I really digged the new bathroom set up, and the room's are very nicely sized, big and spacious. plenty of room for the whole family
"Sweet Suites"
I have been booking rooms here for my Tahoe trips for years now, and the staff continues to surprise me with their graciousness, helpfulness, and all around pleasant demeanor. The accommodations are great for a home base away from home, it is perfectly situated in the south lake scene, and I have never felt fleeced when I settle the bill. It has been a number of years now and I have yet to consider shopping around
"Great location with friendly helpful staff."
Great place to stay with a friendly helpful staff. Buildings and rooms are a little dated, but clean. In room amenities could be updated, but overall experience was great. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone wanting to stay near the action of the South Lake Tahoe and Statelines area.
"Guys Camping Trip"
I cannot say enough about Forest Suites Resort! As a frequent visitor to Tahoe, Forest Suites has been my go to hotel since my first stay there 3 years ago. I have stayed there for multiple reasons on multiple occassions. From family get togethers, birthday celebrations, snow boarding couples trips, and then now, for my yearly camping trip with the guys. Let me preface with the fact that this was a camping trip and there were no plans to stay in a hotel....BUT, with the different work schedules, and transportation times, our camping trip started with Forest Suites as our meeting spot. It was last minute, but Forest Suites staff could not have been more accomodating. Even with limited vacancy, Forest Suites quickly accomodated 12 guys with open arms. Our suites were perfect as usual, and it was extremely nice to find they have added to their breakfast buffet! You cannot go wrong when looking for a wonderful, accomodating, close to everything place in Tahoe. Seriously!
"This hotel is overall a one in a lifetime experience."
I got married at Forest Suites about a year ago.. And just returned for a getaway and late 1st anniversary celebration. I can not imagine it being any other way.. They have made every experience memorable.. The wedding staff from the minister, to my photographer, to alesha and victoria.. The Front office staff are so friendly and go above and beyond to make every guest happy.. They made our wedding guest and every stay of ours something to remember.. Every suite was spacious and very clean. Our room was so beautiful we can not wait to return.. We recommend Forest suites to anyone they are such a family friendly resort with hot breakfast and so many activities for guest to enjoy.. Forest Suites will always be a wonderful place full of memories for my family, friends and husband...
"Exceptional vacation stay"
This is my fifth time staying at Forest Suites. The location is perfect for a single traveler. It's a few minutes to Heavenly Village for dinner, shops and Raley's and Starbucks are across the street. The staff is friendly and the grounds are neat and clean. The evening offering of wine and cheese in the bar is an excellent addition to the whole experience.
"It's all in the Location!"
I loved it. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 kids. Booked a 2-bedroom suite through Livingsocial. What a deal it was. First off, the location's terrific. right under Heavenly Gondola, 3-5 mins from the loading station. Raley's is across the street for groceries. On the other side a few mins to Harrah's back-entrance! The suite itself had a warm feel to it. The kids loved it too. There were pony rides in the evening and other fun activities. Breakfast was quite decent. Scrambled eggs, sausages, bagels, potatoes....we were set! Only improvement i'd suggest is that checkin is @ 4pm and check-out is 11am. I wish they'd allow check in earlier...We were asked to wait until our room was cleaned up until 3pm... No big deal, though. Would stay here again anytime!
"Great location, good sized rooms"
We stayed here in June and it was very nice. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. They have fully equipped kitchen & living room. The resort itself is in a perfect location in Heavenly village. Great stay for families with kids as cinema, shopping, grocery store & restaurants are a short walking distance.
"Kids loved it"
Great value for family trip. Took the family to South Lake Tahoe in early September. Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom. Three kids and three adults. Tons of activities for the kids, arts and crafts, movie night, ponys to pet, marshmallow campfire at night, both TVs in our rooms had DVD players and very easy to walk over to the Heavenly Village. Also came with a hot breakfast! Great deal, we will be back!
"LivingSocial prompted visit paid off in a great stay and memories"
We took advantage of a LivingSocial promotion where we received a 2 room suite at a discount. The suite consisted of 2 queen beds, with one of the rooms also having a twin bed. There was also a sofa bed in the living room. The suite comfortable housed us and the kids. The bathrooms were a bit dated. The service in the hotel was great as were the activities for the kids (roasting marshmallows, crafts in the morning, etc.). We happened to check in at the time of the wine/cheese party, so that was a nice greeting. Breakfast consisted of coffee, juices, cereals, bagels, eggs (powdered?), bacon and potatoes. While a bit busy, there were plenty of places to sit for our family of 5. They have a "green" program which lets you receive a bottle of wine or snack package in lieu of housekeeping. I'm not sure how this is green as opposed to labor cost savings, but we did not mind as we don't swap out linens/towels during our stays. The hotel is located right behind Heavenly Village, so its in walking distance to the bars/restaurants in the village as well as the casinos. The hotel staff recommended visits to local beaches and the Taylor Creek Visitor Center, both of which were hits the kids. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.
"A perfect retreat!"
The retreat is just enough off the traffic path to be quiet and serene. There is a doorway in the lobby to the stairs of the Gondolas for Heavenly Valley Ski area. (runs summer and winter). Our experience was good from the telephone call to check on availability prior to buying a fabulous Travel Zoo package through our checkout following our 2 night stay. 2 Bedroom suites are huge. King in one, full plus twin or queen in the other, plus queen pullout in living room. Two baths, both large. Full kitchen, equipped with dishes, silverware, pots/pans and utensils. Bring your food (Raleys just down the street) and make a full meal if you are so inclined. Dining table seats 6. Two TVs, good internet reception(free). Four could stay here for months and not be crowded. Leather chairs/sofa, plenty of lamps so you don't need to feel your way around the unit. And, re Onepinoy's review - yes, the decor is older, but primarily it is "lodge type" not high tech new plastic -- the dining table is actually wood). This is a summer in the woods/mountains and ski resort area, you know. Full breakfast, quite good with scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, juices, cereals, toast/bagles, etc. It was too chilly to use the pool or hot tub but they looked nice, clean and well cared for. We'd come back in an NY minute.
"Great Stay, Excellent Location to Heavenly Village, Fantastic Service"
Excellent stay, excellent location to Heavenly Village and Casinos, great price value for location and full kitchen amenities. Rooms are clean and nice. CD players in rooms. Excellent staff and customer service. Location is great to Heavenly Village Cinema, Restaurants including Base Camp Pizza Company, Gunbarrel Tavern, Driftwood Cafe, Burger King, and Kalanis in very short walking distance. Also, adjacent to the Heavenly Village 8 Plex Cinema and Heavenly Village Ice Rink and Miniature Golf course. Heavenly Gondola is within very short walking distance. Great location and dining/enterainment options.
"Fantastic location, wonderful service."
My husband surprised me with a trip to Lake Tahoe for our honeymoon. Originally we were supposed to go to Ireland but due to work related reasons we decided to stay closer to home (Reno). Upon arrival I didn't quite know what to think. The property looked a bit worn on the outside but I quickly changed my mind when my husband showed me to our room, a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen and rustic cabin decor. The room was spotless. It was so clean and comfortable I could totally see a family spending a week here on there ski vacation. A nice perk was a free bottle of wine for not needing to have our room cleaned one day. It is the perfect property for families because the hotel has arranged fun activities for every age. We enjoyed the wine and cheese social in the evening and the breakfast in the morning. We also enjoyed the pool and spa. I would like to come back and bring our son so he could take part in the arts and crafts activities the hotel offers, pony rides, ice cream socials, and evening story time and marshmallow roast around the campfire. There is also a fitness center on site, massage therapy available, family movie nights and fitness classes during certain times of the week. We had a great stay and urge customers to get back the initial facade because this place has everything! Loved it. Will be back! Thank you Forest Suites for a perfect honeymoon.
"Heavenly stay at Forest Suites"
Just the two of us we never book a suite but the wedding we were attending arranged for one bedroom suites - loved the spaciousness! So worth it. Turned into a relaxating mini-vacation, best nights' sleep. Husband woke up early and watched tv in living room. No time for the wine tasting or 's'mores but used the kitchen. A cookie sheet in the oven was great for reheating pizza from Blue Dog Gourmet Pizza across the street to crispy perfection. Entire staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Suggessted breakfast buffet before 8 to avoid big crowds. Very few people, mounds of piping hot items and good selection of cold as well. Really liked the option of just clean towels and trash emptied in exchange for a gift - chose the movie package: 2 sodas, microwave popcorn, chocolate bar and bag of candy. Some reviewers say its old and needs updating - the important thing is it is CLEAN! Told our son who sometimes works in Tahoe and learned he always stays here. We will go back.
"Another Great Stay"
Over the last 15 days my family and I have had the chance to stay at the Forest Suites Resort in two separate stays. We were traveling through while going to a family wedding and then traveling through to come home. We set up 2 separate reservations. Both we executed flawlessly. This trip we did not take advantage of the area or the other amenities other than the buffet breakfast. The breakfast was piping hot and fresh. When checking in the first night the front desk recommended a time for breakfast when it would be less crowded. He determined this by the events going on in town and the time they started. We walked right up got plates of steaming delicious breakfast. He was correct. The lobby was pack upon check out about 30 minutes later. This was a nice thoughtful gesture. The first night we were on the road and had checked in late. The room was not the temperature we would have liked for sleeping, though the AC cooled it down before too long. On the way back through to come home we were going to be checking in late again. I called ahead and asked that the temperature for the room was set to accommodate our preferences. We were delighted to walk into our room at the perfect temperature. It is these types of thoughtful gestures that will keep us coming back to the Forest Suites time and time again.
"Forest Suites, Tahoe"
Great location, wonderful staff and good facilities. Stayed at this property for 4 nights at the end of the summer holidays. The rooms was spacious, for myself, my wife and 3 kids. Location in the centre of Heavenly made everything easy to walk to. The kids lovely the swimming pools and the hotel had lots of activities each day for them. The breakfast room was busy, but always everything available. Overall an excellent place to stay in South Lake Tahoe.
"Perfect for our family of 6!"
My wife and I have 4 kids, so finding a suitable place to stay can be tough. Forest Suites Resort was better than we could've expected! The suite felt like a spacious cabin. With one room having one queen, a twin, and enough room for a playpen for our littlest one, and another room just for mommy and daddy, it was fantastic! Another very pleasant surprise was the first-rate service the staff provided. When I went to get checked in there was someone ahead of me, and another employee came out of the back to help me. This happened again when I had a question the next day. Very cool!
"Great!!!"
We have stayed here several times. The 2 bedroom condo is great! The breakfast is good and the pool/spa is good too. Definitely will be coming here many more times. Great value for the price. The full kitchen in the condo was great, and Raley's across the street. Made the family trip wonderful!
"Great Rooms and Locations for Families"
We first chose to stay here two years ago because my kids do not like to eat out for the most part. We figured it would save us money and be more convenient if we got a suite here that had a full kitchen for us to cook. It worked out well! We have stayed there 5 times in three years and we go back every time! We have seen a few things as others mentioned with being an older room, but between last year and this year, many of those things were resolved and the room we stayed in had upgraded furniture. (We stayed in this room last year as well) Our room had an entrance right out to the pool, which my kids LOVED! We swam every day we were there. They make it very family friendly and are very responsive. I also like how they have a choice of full service or minimal service with a gift. We don't need our sheets changed every day, but they still gave towel service and replenished amenities as needed. There were a few cons as the bathroom exhaust fan didn't work well, but didn't affect the use of the bathroom and a couple tiles on the pool were coming off, but it didn't damper or hamper our fun swimming experience at all. We will stay here again!
"A great location and "value" property!"
Been there numerous times and the location is outstanding, as it is truly at Stateline and it's very convenient to be able to walk to the Nevada casinos. Wonderful for skiers who can also walk to the Heavenly gondola right next to the hotel. A perfect location for families who want a great "value" experience. Rustic mountain feel and a warm staff who cater to your needs.
