"Had a Good Time"
The new owners are busy updating the property. Should be great when done. I was most impressed by the friendly, hard working staff. They have a lot of busy people keeping things clean. Wasn't so bad without a balcony because all rooms face the ocean...nice! Right on the beach with plenty to do all around the area. We will stay here again.
"Awesome"
Even though the hotel needs some updating we had a wonderful time. It is family friendly and is quiet. I could have not asked for more on my mini vacation. The staff was friendly and courteous. I had an awesome time. Thank you so much. I too work at a hotel and know how we stive on meeting gye6st needs and you all have done that for me. Kudos!
"kid friendly"
We come to Daytona every year. We have stayed at the grand seas the past 5 years. My kids love it here. Theres a kiddie pool and 2 big pools outside and indoor pool. Theres FREE golf. My son is there daily! They are in the process of remodeling the whole place and cant wait to come back and see. Its older but very clean and the staff goes out of there way to help make the stay better! I would recommend this place to stay
"Great amenities and staff, but in need of updating."
I read mixed reviews before the hubby and I stayed here for the weekend in an oceanfront one bedroom suite during Biketoberfest. I was pleasantly surprised. Meeting the front office staff made for a great first impression. There are tons of great amenities here along with the beautiful beach. Beds are older and need to be replaced, but we still slept well. Even though this was a busy weekend, we did not hear any noises. We did notice many areas outside of our room that needed scrapping and painting (salty air creates that monster). A new management organization has taken over and hopefully they'll invest the money for some much needed maintenance. We would definitely stay here again. Oh! No balconies like many of the other hotels along the beach, but a big window that opens made up for it (mostly).
"Best accommodations in Daytona Beach for a family."
I was nervous by reading reviews but this resort wplenty nicest we have stayed in in Daytona. Located directly across from restaurants and a nice shopping center, we never had to move our car. Between Walgreens, Publix, a bowling alley, the shopping center across the street has everything you need. The resort was very clean compared to all others we have stayed at. The workers were very nice and helpful. The brought us everything we needed. There was a safe in our room free of charge. There were three large swimming pools and three hot tubs so there was never any over crowding. The full kitchen made dinners very easy. They even had a toaster. The view from the room was breathtaking. We preferred being off the ground so we could see the ocean. With the window open you could hear the waves sitting on the couch. We felt very safe, far away from the riffraff that the main street brings. No vagrants or callgirls hanging around outside like many other places we have been. The room was huge! There were two televisions, living room, and in the bedroom which helped the wife and I not have to watch Sponge Bob.
"Awesome family paradise.."
I came here with my family of six...from check in to check out, staff very accommodating... The rooms were very clean, service was excellent...perfect location on beach...pools are clean and well taken care of...when it rains they have an indoor pool, which is great...when it's not raining two huge pools with kiddie pools outside. "The view from the room is amazing as long as...."
Hotel staff is really nice. It is a wonderful resort as long as you get a room on at least the 3rd floor. The rooms have huge windows to the ocean. Amazing views. Awesome feature. But it's a gamble. They will not tell you what room you'll get until you get there. If you have a first room floor you will not have the amazing view to the ocean. Some 2nd floor views are blocked by stuff. Rooms are clean. TV's in the master bedrooms hum and make a weird noise. Tv's are decent, not great. Not HD and no guide so finding tv shows is aggravating. They don't have enough pool chairs so selfish people put their towels on them and leave them there all day. Pools are nice though. Way to much smoking and drinking going on there. Mixed bag. Some things were very nice. Some things need improvement. But again the view from the room is amazing.
"Drive on Beach"
This is MECA for spring breakers, for bike week, for Daytona 500, but it's very good the rest of the year. The staff does a wonderful job. The facilities are beautiful, and are on Dayton Beach. You can "drive on the beach". They have restaurants, bars, gym, shops, and if they don't have it. It's on A1A, right outside your door.
"Would stay again!"
We've stayed at the Grand Seas for several years (each summer my husband and I go and the past two winters we've stayed with our two teenage children). I'm not going to say it's the most luxurious place I've ever been, but great staff and the location is perfect for our needs. Anytime we've needed maintenance help, they are there right now and very helpful. We like the option of the two pools. I'm convinced the ocean air and moisture are hard on buildings and so we've come to expect a little "wear and tear" and don't get too worked up by the appearance.
"great place to stay"
This place might seem a little rough on the outside but the rooms were great. It was very clean and the view is amazing. You are within walking distance to the pier(2,7 miles) also the staff was very friendly. all and all we had a very nice time and we will be back again
"Great Stay as Always"
We stayed for a full week; Saturday to Saturday. Everything was great with the exception of the fact that they did not have any children activities scheduled other than Surf Camp the week we were there. We got there at 6am on Saturday Morning; check in isn't till 4pm, yet they allowed us early check in; we got our wristbands and were able to hang out at the pool and use everything there till our room was ready. We went fishing at the pier; While our room was being cleaned and were actually able to have access to our room at 2pm :) Everyone was great. Very pleasent. The rooms are lived in, yet have everything you need inorder to cook there. The weather was perfect; somedays were over cast, but it was still warm enought to get in the ocean. We had a GREAT stay as always, and look forward to returning next year. We may try later in the summer next year for warmer weather though. :)
"Beautiful views, right on the beach, comfortable stay"
I checked into the Grand Seas Resort on Memorial day weekend for a two night stay. I chose a oceanfront/ocean view room with King size bed.[ St Lucia room- 1 bed room]. It had all that i needed for this stay. Full size fridge, small apt size oven[ but worked for what I needed it to do], a dishwasher, plates, cups, utensils etc.. the bathroom had a deep jacuzzi tub/shower and it had a sofa and table with chairs and a bedroom. What else do you really need? I was one person, but found that a couple would be fine in this type of room. I was overlooking the pool area and ocean. Unbelievable views. The elevator was tricky to find, and it is SLOW!! but works fine[ I wasn't in a rush]. they have a few pools. One kiddie one, and one good sized pool with slide[ under 100 lbs weight limit :(] there is enough deck chaise's for everyone, and if you feel cramped in the pool area- there is always the beach[ ten steps away. ] Be aware that cars can drive on the beach. Condo was decorated nicely. But the steps and the grounds could use some sprucing up[ new paint etc]. But as long as I am comfortable, and the room is clean. I am a happy camper. There is free parking at this resort[ for only ONE CAR PER ROOM],however, there is a resort fee of $3.00 per day that is paid at the end of your stay.
"Love Grand Seas Resort"
I live in Orlando Florida and we spend several weekends every summer at the resort. It is very clean and spacious. My kids love the water slides & playground, I enjoy the outside bar & beautiful ocean view. The beach is easy to access and the location is great because its close to the boardwalk, but yet not near as much traffic on that end of the beach. The prices are unbeatable!! We get the 1 bedroom suite to have privacy from the children and it cost less than a regular room at other hotels that aren't near as nice. The only downfall is no balconies!! It is a bit hard to book last minute, but a few weeks in advance is never a problem even during the summer. I highly recommend Grand Seas and from the other comments glad I never considered timeshare!!
"A wonderful vacation"
We stayed a week at the Daytona Grand Seas Resort to escape the longest Ohio winter in our recent memory. Although the weather was less than cooperative our stay was amazing. The rooms were big and bright and the view was BREATHTAKING. Everybody was very friendly and helpful, any question was answered quickly. We'll stay again. :) Great value and beautiful beachfront view.
"fantastic!"
The online photo's don't do this friendly hotel justice at all...Staff were so helpful and chatty...the rooms have a fantastic sea view...the restaurant did fabulous breakfasts and evening meals...bar prices were reasonable...access to the gorgeous beach is easy..good choice of shops just across the road or a short bus ride away.... the gym and indoor pool are excellent overall a good place to stay in Daytona Beach. I'd recommend it to anyone!
"Grand Seas; a Grand Place for the Price."
We travel to Daytona Beach every other year and really enjoy our stay. We love getting the two bedroom right in front of the playground. We can sit on the patio and watch the kids play on the playground while we are still in the shade. Plus you have space to put your "sand toys" without them having to be brought back into the room. I wish all the rooms had balconies. Only the ground floor does though. The rooms are very spacious. They are lived in, but for the price it is a great stay. We stay a full week and pay just at $1,000. It is a great buy for a family of 5. The staff have always been GREAT, and if anything is ever needed fixed; they have it done very quickly. We really look forward to our trips to Daytona Beach, and are breaking routine and going back this summer. Usually we try different places everyother year; but have really been spoiled with the quality we get at Grand Seas
"Great!"
The hotel is directly on the beach, no balconies but the windows do open. The room was well kept, clean. The room had all the supplies we needed for our stay, kitchen and bathroom stuff. The only thing was the location was a little further away from the main area of Daytona, the pier area- easy drive to get to, within in minutes. Across the street was a Publix which really came in handy-clean store. We would stay here again-the price was good, hotel nice, staff pleasant.
"Excellent"
When we arrived the rooms were ready. They were very clean with plenty of towels, blankets and anything else we needed. If we wanted clean towels or more soap, shampoo or coffee they were more than happy to supply whatever it was.The girls at the front desk were friendly and helped with whatever we needed. It was one of the most enjoyable trips we have ever had. Family came by for 2 days and it was great.Lots of room. The restaurant and bar was so convenient. We were treated very well.I certainly would return to Grand Seas Resort again.
"right on the beach"
right on the beach, and a comfortable stroll to the pier along those magnificant sands. we were in room 1054 which is ground floor. from your own patio just walk across the mini golf enclosure or the outdoor pool and you are direct onto the beach. Excellent location. room large and well fitted out with good kitchen area and big fridge, bedroom nice, bed very comfy. with tv. bathroom ok .convertable sofa / bed in lounger across the main road is a good supermarket for all your kitchen needs with plenty of parking. .....love Datona
"Timeshare Exchange"
During our 1 week Timeshare stay at the Grandseas Resort, the service provided by the staff was outstanding. The Resort had all the amenities one could desire, along with a Restaurant and Bar. The Beach view from all the Units are terrific. We will defiantly return here.
