We just finished a week vacation at the Grand Sirenis. We booked through BookVIP and I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the entire trip, all the way from booking through the conclusion of the trip. We got a phenomenal deal and had an excellent trip!

What Our Customers Are Saying

Written Review

"Relaxing week"
We were at this resort from March 5th to 12th 2016, We had a 2 bedrooms apartment in the Esmeralda Building. It was a 5 stars accommodation. The staff was wonderful. The activity ladies by the pool Laura and Gaby were so nice entertaining us Bingo Aqua fit. The bus drivers very helpful and friendly. It was very quiet which we like. we felt we had the place to ourselves. We were disappointed by the beach but we definitely would return to this resort.
"First Time Visit - May 21-28, 2016"
I am a Sirenis Premium Travelers (SPT) member and this was my first to this resort. My wife and I and friends (another couple) made this visit. The resort is quite small but very peaceful. The food and service were wonderful. We got to know that other guests and the staff quite well and had such a fun time! Staff members Olmi, Johan, and David were extremely courteous and helpful! There are certainly advantages to being a SPT member as we received a complimentary upgrade from our Mini-Suite to a Presidential Suite that was spactacular and we were assigned a personal concierge. In our case, Luis and Adan (in particular) assisted us throughout the week arranging transportation to nearby towns and making dinner reservations for us at the Japanese and Brazilian restaurants. This is a great resort for adults and parents with babies or small children. It is a great place to relax with 3 different swimming pools, a hot tub, etc. with a pool side bar. One evening we enjoyed a Mariachi Band that was spectacular. There is also the nearby Eva Mandarina Beach Club (small ocean front beach and restaurant/bar) this is a short drive from the resort. Complimentary transportation is provided to and from the resort hourly. The resort also has very nice Spa services! Overall, it was a great experience and we plan to return. This is a great place to relax and get away; and to enjoy a very peaceful and relaxing environment. Be sure to get to know your staff and the other guests as this makes it an even more enjoyable experience.
"5* Paradise for our 50th wedding anniversary holiday."
We were looking for somewhere special for our 50th wedding anniversary and when we chose here with our close friends, it definitely ticked all the boxes. From the moment we checked in we were so impressed with everything to the moment we left we could not find any negatives at all about Matlali Hills Resort. We are both over 70 and did not find the hilly resort a problem. For anyone who didn't feel like the walk back to your room there are buggies available 24/7. The rooms are very spacious and immaculate with balconies overlooking the jungle. The food was very good and theme nights even better, steak, brazillian, mexican and japanese. A short minibus ride to the private beach and bar overlooking the Pacific was so relaxing with waiter service for both lunch and drinks on the loungers. Evening entertainment three or four tmes a week around the pool after dinner was not to be missed and even karaoke in the bar for all to join in. The infinity pool was great with another pool down a few steps. Even better was the thermal pool which was like a hot bath and a plunge pool all set in amazing surroundings. It would be unfair to name any staff as they were all more than helpful and extremely friendly, all dining room and bar staff, consieges Lena and David who, like all staff, would go the extra mile to help in any way possible. We would like to thank Lena and David for our anniversary surprise when we returned to our room one night of a bottle of bubbles and decorated room of pettles. A very nice gesture, thanks. Also for my birthday decorations another night. The people we met here were also so friendly from Canada.USA and Mexico and UK. All these helped to make our holiday very special, special thanks to them and our close friends who came with us M'Lord and Lady Minas Finally, one of the other main reasons for coming to Mexico was for my wife to realise a lifes dream to swim with the dolphins. We chose the dolphin discovery in the Aquapark not 10 minutes from the hotel. This proved to be more than what dreams are made of with 6 of us swimming with them for an hour at a third of the cost the tour operators wanted. It proved that a little research goes a long way and can save you money. We never go back to hotels previously visited but this one we definitely would. Thank you Matlali Hills for everything. 10/10 +
"Wonderful place"
What a wonderful place the staff could not do enough to help you they were excellent the hotel was fantastic yes it was hilly but that's is in the name matlali hills we had two adjacent rooms block 4021 in the jungle suites they were great big with a lovely balcony the pools were good especially the quite pool with thermal waters we found the food to be of excellent standard for a all inclusive resort the beach restaurant had a fabulous range for lunch and we enjoyed the steak and Brazilian nights very much also they had a japananies restaurant which everyone said was excellent but we never got round to using it what makes this place special apart from the beautiful surroundings that it is set in the feeling of exclusiveness you get at this resort makes it very different now to mention some of the outstanding staff David and lenna in the consieage service are outstanding any problem they sorted it out Jocquim behind the bar top man David gabby and Johan the animations team were brilliant in fact all the staff everywhere were exceptional the only slight negative about our holiday was the airport which is very chaotic especially after a 11hour flight .If you want a quite holiday in a wonderful resort this is the place to go there is one bar open and as there are not too many people there you end up talking to everyone which is really nice made some great friends .
"Beautiful Matlali Hills"
We found a quiet escape here, it was a perfectly relaxing holiday and we loved being up in the hills. If you like hustle and bustle this is not the place for you. We had the beautiful natural pool area mostly to ourselves and we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The staff really cant do enough to help and are happy to deal with any requests you have and they were always friendly and hard working. Its only a short walk to the road if you want to get the bus and we found plenty to explore in the area. You can travel for a few pesos and its worth taking the time to get out and about. The food and its service was lovely, steaks and ceviche, sushi and brazillian, all really nice and if you want something off menu its worth asking because they were happy to assist. Beautiful views of the pacific and Sierra Madre as you dine. Have to give a special mention to the spa and the amazing rebirth "spring" ritual, absolutley wonderful experience and the best spa treatment Ive ever had. Highly recommend it. Beautiful setting, rooms well appointed with everything you need and the balcony was perfect for morning coffee whilst taking in the incredible view. Being in the hills gives the best views. The beach club is an extension of the hotel with excellent service and a place to quietly tan or go for a safe swim. Drinks refreshed all day long. Regular service to and from hotel and dont worry about walking the hill to your room, there's always a buggy ready to take you wherever you need. Brilliant holiday, would go back in a heartbeat.
"Loving it"
We are on or 5 day here I'm here with my husband and 7 year old daughter and we love everything about this place. The resort is very small but the food is amazing the staff takes the time every day to talk to you and repetely ask if you need anything. Our room is the mini suite it is huge and beautiful we have two toilettes two showers one outside bath witch is private and beautiful. There is not much to do for my daughter but she is far from complaining she is loving the pools and the beach club where we did snorkeling and seen blowup fishes. All together I have nothing bad or negative about this place. If you just want to sit back and relax and eat good food and the best mijitos meet awesome people this is the place to come. Oh one more thing that I also like about this place you don't have to get up early to reserve chair there is plenty for everyone with clean towel already on them waiting for you. Thank you Matlalie hills for the great vacation.
"Top Hotel and Service"
Will recommend this hotel to everyone. Staff is very friendly . Rooms are very clean and beautiful. Everything beyond my expectations. I loved the stay at this hotel. The beach club is very close and they take you from the hotel with just one phone call to concierge. All the food was very good , every night they have a diferent type , japanese , mexican ,steak house and more .
We stayed at this resort at the end of March and loved every minute of it. The staff are all fantastic, the hotel it self is gorgeous and the grounds are beautiful! The food is fantastic we ate at all the restaurants and by the end of the trip actually preferred the buffet because the food was so amazing. The head chef, Alex, was fantastic. He is incredibly busy but always made time to speak with us and even surprised me with my favorite Mexican dish one night! His sous chef Karla is also fantastic. She went out of her way to make sure my wife felt special every time we were in the dining room. Alejandro the manager was always a joy to be around and he'd always check in to make sure our family was well cared for. The entertainment staff were very good at making sure there was always something fun to do. We really enjoyed a hike through the jungle with Laura she was great with our baby too! The resort has a fantastic relaxation pool with a smoothie bar next to it. It is essentially a huge hot tub that we loved ending our day at. We treated this vacation as a health retreat and did a lot of walking/hiking, eating well, working out and relaxing. The real beauty of this place is that it grounds are so large you can do all these things without leaving the resort. It is a newer place and they are working out the kinks but it didn't bother us at all! We did miss being on the beach but they do have a beach club... It just wasn't ideal for us with the baby. If you come to this resort knowing you're not on the beachv the rest is fantastic. You will not be disappointed.
"Boutique hotel"
Very unusual layout of buildings up a mountain side. Steep hill sides; however, golf carts are available. Most of the rooms have pools on their terrace. Very romantic ambiance. Service quite good. There were some internet problems, but eventually resolved.
"Heaven on earth... absolute oaradise!"
Wow, I am still in awe. We just got back from a beautiful trip to this resort. I can not say enough about how beautiful and serene this area is. The tropical vegetation, birds, mountains, ocean etc. We felt totally at peace and completely renewed after doing one week all inclusive here. The people and service here is exceptional. We made so many friends and were always taken care of in every which way. The staff here will go out of their way to make sure that you don't have to worry about anything. Manuel always made sure that we had help, and filled us in on anything that we needed to know. Diego was so much fun, and so good with my daughter. He taught us how to salsa dance, making sure that we kept our shoulders relaxed ;) We had fun dancing at the pool bar with Diego. Thank you! The restaurant staff were always attentive and took extra care of my daughter. The food was out of this world. We enjoyed so many meals, and it was of utmost quality. We really enjoyed the tebanyaki show, and the chef did a great job with it. We enjoyed a yoga class while we were there, and many beautiful hikes. The reception staff were great at answering questions, leydy and Alejandra are so friendly. Thank you David for your bright smile and cheerful attitude! You definitely remind us of our brother. Ignacio is a sweetheart and has some great dance moves! The beach club is great because you have your own private area. We brought water shoes because we were told that it was a bit rocky. It wasnt too bad if you stayed to the left side. The food at the beach club was delicious and the staff were great. I cant remember our server's name, but he did a great job also. You have to try the fried bananas! You need to visit this place- it is a tropical home away from home!
"Fantastic Stay! fantastic! Beach club, meh."
I went solely with the intent of trying out the spa rituals and man I was impressed fom start to finish. I was met at reception with a waiting cart to take me to my room. I was able to order a resonable food at 3am. The bars were fantastic. The restaurants were sublime. The Makawe Spa was a transcendent experience. I settled on the Mercere treatment which was a milk bath/massage combo. My only complaint was my service at the beach club/sister property. The drinks were terrible (pina colada with no pina?) and the service was spotty. The Aguachile tostadas were to die for though, so definitely try them! So to recap...Concierge, fantastic! Spa, fantastic! Bars, fantastic! Beach club, meh.
We stayed for a week as new bronze members. We were suppose to have an ocean view. We didn't get one. Two days before trip was over we were moved to one of the best suites with a pool on the deck kitchen living room dining room bedroom two bathrooms. Very nice!! The food was excellent service was perfect entertainment was top notch. Diego Laura and Hector were fantastic and made our stay very enjoyable.
"Just Changed Ownership - Just Beautiful"
We stayed here for a week at the end of January. we learned the name of the place had changed as had ownership. They had just opened a new Japanese restaurant on site where we dined...alone. The food was fine though. We found the food at the restaurants to be adequate, but nothing sensational. The rooms however were sensational as was the staff in the way they handled and cared for guests. Thankfully, the resort was not extremely crowded so there were always a choice at the pool for chaises etc. You do need a car rental (Gecko Rent a Car) if you intend on going to area restaurants, Nuevo Vallarta and Puerta Vallarta, which I highly recommend. Overall, it was a great stay.
we had a villa lots of room place was fantastic the barteners were great overall the entire staff was perfect the grounds were well kepped had two pools hot tub plus a pool in the forest with a bar and washroom just a greatplace to relax had tennis court liked it so much we are booked for next year
"Phenomenal week of relaxation and great service!"
We just finished spending a week at the Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills Resort. From the moment we got there we were greeted with fantastic service and an upgrade to a 3 BR villa. The villa itself was absolutely lovely with a full kitchen, plunge pool right out the living room, and an awesome outdoor stone tub outside one of the bedrooms. The room was very comfortable and luxurious, and the housekeeping staff did a great job each day making it feel very fresh. There were not very many people staying at the resort during our stay, but what might be a downside to some made it very nice for us. It was incredibly relaxing, and the entire staff took very good care of us! From the breakfast crew each morning making sure our coffee and juice was always filled, to the pool bar staff serving us drinks and food all day, and the dinner crew always greeting us with a smile in the evening for whatever themed dinner we had that evening. There are only 3 restaurants, but they rotate every evening to the point that you really do get to have a good variety even after eating out for a whole week. As mentioned before, the staff is really what made this trip 5 stars. The activity crew with Diego, Laura and Gabby were always willing to go above and beyond to create fun activities for us and to really personalize our experience. In addition, Hector is an amazing bartender! He made us some of the most delicious drinks I have ever had, and the creativity and skill really shined through in his service! We also really enjoyed our spa treatments. The spa is beautiful and luxurious, and Luis was incredibly professional as well! I'd say the biggest downside of the resort is that the beach is a shuttle drive away, but the tacos al pastor they make there can certainly make up for that! They were absolutely delicious! The worst part of our trip was really just having to leave! If you are looking for a relaxing, stress free vacation where the staff is absolutely incredible, then this is for you.
"Family Vacation in Paradise"
My family just returned from the Grand Sirenis in Puerto Vallarta this week. We went there as a Sirenis Premium Traveler after buying into the program last year while we were in the Dominican Republic. For this trip, it was my wife and myself, our four kids ranging in ages from 18 to 26, and one son-in-law. Upon check-in we were graciously offered an upgrade to a huge 3 bedroom, 5 bathroom, Villa complete with negative edge pool, patio areas, and full was fabulous and it was just what we needed for a group of 7. We are very glad we purchased and travelled to Puerto Vallarta. The weather was incredible, the resort was extremely well laid out and well stocked, the food was amazing, the drinks never ending (we were on an all-inclusive deal), and most of the all the staff was world class. From the moment we arrived on Sunday night (Leydy and Adan were great at check-in) we felt welcomed and empowered. Even though it was late, they were ready for us with an incredible Japanese dinner that was stunning. Throughout the week, the pool bar staff (Hector and Joaquin) was so kind and friendly that we felt like special guests. Every meal we went to, whether is was a Brazilian night, Italian night, Mexican night, or every mornings breakfast, the talented and friendly staff (Jesus, Ruperto, or Mario) were always one-step ahead of us and never left us waiting for anything. The hotel staff was on top of any issues (thanks David for getting all of our Wi-Fi devices connected so easily) and anything that came up was rectified quickly. The resort has a couple of beautiful pools onsite and we thoroughly enjoyed each one. Also, they resort has a private beach area that you can get to via a private van that runs on the hour. The beach club has a Ramada area and many beach chairs and umbrellas for your use. The staff at the beach club (led by Carlos) was very nice and extremely helpful and made some good drinks...however...when you go there....DO NOT MISS OUT on "Taco al Pastore"...they are "delicioso". The beach also has a volleyball net that we put to good use. The only drawback to the beach area is the rockiness in the water...but since we weren't too concerned with getting in it wasn't a big deal. All 7 of us also took advantage of the onsite spa. I can say first hand that my 110 minute hot rock massage was the best I have ever had (thanks Vivian). Finally, the entertainment staff was hands down our favorite part of the stay. Diego and Laura were absolute gems and we really feel that we have some new friends for life. We will definitely be back in the future and if you want a great, relaxing, not-to-crazy vacation, with great food, great drinks, and incredible staff....I highly recommend this resort.
"Perfect relaxing escape"
Well what can we say! Stayed here for one week in March and wish it could have been longer! We were so impressed by the hotel that we are currently sitting by the pool with margaritas writing the review. Fantastic hotel, secluded in the beautiful hills with stunning views. The staff are so attentive- there are golf buggies to drive guests around the hotel grounds and at breakfast they are so attentive, making sure you have everything you need- barely even carried a plate on holiday as the staff were so keen to make us as relaxed as possible! The bar staff were exceptional and would come to you with the menus and bring cocktails to you in the pool. We didn't really participate in the activities at the hotel but what we saw looked brilliant. Staff were very informative about places to go in the nearby area and our rep was fantastic- we booked a brilliant day trip to the hidden beaches, which was phenomenal, and had the opportunity to snorkel and scuba dive, as well as ride on horseback. We also went downtown on one of the days, which was beautiful- true Mexican fand el to it- and had lobster on the beach, which was ridiculously cheap compared to UK prices. The drinks and food options were fantastic- the hotel has three restaurants as well as a pool bar, but due to small numbers of guests, the restaurants alternated each night. We still had a completely different menu each night, which was delicious. The cleaning services were brilliant and the hotel and rooms were spotless. We stayed in a standard room, which was spacious with a large bathroom and shower, and a huge super king bed with a balcony. We had thought about upgrading to a room with a private pool, but the hotel was so quiet, that we didn't feel the need- most days we'd be the only ones at the pool and had the jacuzzi pool to ourselves- ideal for a relaxing holiday! The only negative would be the lack for free wifi- there is free wifi at the pool area but it doesn't reach anywhere else in the hotel and you would need to pay for wifi elsewhere; however we had booked the holiday to relax and to be honest, the lack of wifi did just that! We also went to the spa, which was a terrific experience- brilliant masseurs and again very attentive to your needs. In all, we had an absolutely terrific holiday, and we cannot wait to book our next visit to this beautiful hotel!
