What Our Customers Are Saying

Written Review

"WE love it here!"
We upgraded to an Ocean front room and it was well worth the money, about $20 US a night. I agree that the rooms need some updating but overall very clean and comfortable. The staff make this a great place, I was going to remember all their names so I could give a shout out to them, then realized everyone that has helped as has been fantastic. I can't do stairs very well so we asked for a room with few stairs and got a room on the same floor as the check in with no stairs! The breakfast buffet was very good. We did the breakfast and drink package, what a great deal that is! The entertainment at night has been really fun and we have met a lot of nice people here! They keep the drinks coming, everyone works very hard so don't forget to tip. We will be back.
"A comfortable, quaint little getaway"
My mom and I travelled to the Posada Real in April. We were looking for a quiet girls getaway where we could enjoy the culture, relax by the pool and ocean, and eat good food. We were not disappointed! The Posada Real has a small, family-like feel to it. If you're looking for a place to party and have a little too much fun, this is not the place for you. If you're looking to relax and enjoy the sunshine, this resort is perfect. We booked a garden-view room and were pleasantly surprised to see that we had a bit of an ocean view too! The bars are great and the drinks are just fine. The staff is wonderful, kind and provide exceptional service. We were a little worried that we would get sick of the food, given that there is only one restaurant on the property, but they really mix up the options at every meal. We had the tortilla soup on Mexican night, and I'm still dreaming about it 7 months later! There is also a restaurant near the pool that offers nachos and other snack-y foods during the day. Overall, we were very happy with our stay! Some things could have been updated/improved, but we were quite content with the quality of stay, especially given the price range of the resort. I will definitely be returning soon!
"love this place"
we just booked our 9th return trip to the Posada. it's feels good to return and relax with the ocean right there and i mean right there. we walk or bus to everywhere we need to go and it's always fun just to stay and hang out at the pool bar, nap and read all day long. the poolside food it great. we enjoy the food in the dinning room, but also just having pre dinner drinks and jumping into a cab to grab a mean in town and return to post dinner drinks. I am a school teacher and the price point is spot on, but truth be told, we see big buck type people there too, it's a real Mexico feel and it is chill and relaxed. From the front desk to anybody walking around, the staff is great. Urabano kind and attentive to everybody, he has treated my wife and I like friends that we have become/ I am sure he see's 1000's of people, but he make each feel welcomed. If you want want to brag to your friends about how great your room was on vacation, go someplace else, ( the rooms at the Posada are just fine by the way) or do you want the brag about about being right on the water with great drinks and food and treated like you were a friend while you were there, then book the Posada right now, you will love it !!!!!!!!! It's about the water and the water is right there. Can't wait till I order my martini. Cheers
"A Most Relaxing Holiday"
We loved our two week stay! The staff are the friendliest we have encountered, some of them have worked at Posada Real for 30 years. The rooms are clean and have everything you need, we had a cactus garden, pool and ocean view room on the second floor. The food is great, great variety and nicely presented. We will be returning to Posada Real - can hardly wait!! Thank you Rosita, Raol, Simon, Gilberto, Benito, Jerimiah - see you again in 2016!!!
"Hidden Gem among the forest of large resorts"
I highly recommend this small resort for anyone looking for great value and even better food. The Posada Real Los Cabos has one main restaurant (and a poolside snackbar) and no "a la carte" dining rooms. That however, is no disadvantage as the food in the main restaurant is on par - or better - than the surrounding mega resorts. The chefs were able to provide a wide variety of choices every meal, and their made to order items (grilled, sauteed) were as delicious as any resort at which I've stayed. The rooms were comfortable, not luxurious, and a little dated, but they were cleaned every day. The staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful. A big highlight for us was the baby sea turtle release for which hotel guests assisted. And it is only a 20 minute walk to old San Jose. This resort may be the best overall value of any of our vacations in Mexico.
"Excelent cost benefit"
Nice atmosphere, good infrastrucutre, amazing place to visit in the world. Thats what you will find in this desert plus beach city. Its an all inclusive hotel where you can choose full meal or just drinks. The breakfast is pretty good and the drinks included all day long is really something. Its not a luxury hotel, but its high confortable and a real amazing great value
"love posada!"
If you're looking for a quite relaxing getaway, stay at Posada Real. It is located about 30minutes south of where all the nightlife, main stuff is going on- which I prefer. The staff is very accommodating, check in was easy and fast, my room was cleaned daily, food was great! all inclusive..what more can you ask for? they upgraded me to a balcony ocean view- AWESOME!! I spent most of my nights hanging out on the hammock, few beers and just enjoying the beautiful view.I will definitely be staying here again!
"small resort"
small resort. food at both snack bar and buffet tasty. not very spicy but you can ask for hot sauce. nice pool swim up bar water cold to start but you adjust. Good value for what we paid. on the hotel strip. easy walk to the Mega. downtown short cab ride or a 30 minute walk it is on the sea of Cortez so undertow is strong not recommended for swimming. Entertainment is limited. to mariachi band 2 nights and fun karaoke 2, other night was a singer Spanish and English, some other entertainment like a Spanish xcyelphone Bar closes at 11pm in the lobby so its not a wild crazy place. Service was friendly lots of tip jars . limited English spoken by most staff in the buffet. The room was pretty standard, a little musty smelling at first but cleared up when air conditioner was on. AC was quiet and kept it comfortable not cold. if you like it cold It will not get there.
"Second visit"
Late September for my second time here, first was solo traveler, this trip with the family. As I said last time, quaint and cozy type resort, no time share crap, quiet pool area, just a relaxing atmosphere. First, arrival this time had a couple glitches, in a side I didn't prefer, and the AC wasn't working. It didn't get fixed when they said it would, so I choose to upgrade to an ocean front room instead. I spent most of the time at the pool, not in bed, so not a huge issue for us, but could be for some. Food was very good, just as I had my first trip. Weather was a bit hot to eat out on the patio, but inside is nice, and the staff were all great. One particular note is Benito and Eduardo at the pool. Both went above and beyond in mingling with my 5yo daughter, and they were the highlight of the trip for her. Overall, a nice, although older retreat, great staff, a good variety of food, and a relaxing trip. I've already booked another week in March 2016 and are excited for it to come.
"It's good"
If you want to take a rest it's the best choice it is very calm, if you're looking for clubs and fun this is not the correct place. The food is greeeeeat, the amenities were ok, the location it's far from Cabo San Lucas (where the clubs and tourist zone takes place), but the transportation is very accessible from the airport to the hotel you can take a collective cab ($150 MXN), and from the hotel to Cabo San Lucas you can take the bus ($ 37 MXN) and get off at Puerto Paraiso mall, also a supermarket (Megacomercial) is near from here if you want to buy some food and stuff. It's a traditional mexican hotel, no luxury at all. The pool and the service bar always were good as well. Maybe I'd add a refrigerator in every room but in general you will have a pleasant stay.
"A great vacation!!"
I'm fairly late on my review of this hotel, but I figure as long as I write a review...i'll be okay! I went with my girlfriend April 3-10 of 2015. We are in our mid twenties and early thirties. We weren't looking for anything special, I spent a month or so searching the most affordable options and Posada ended up being the winner. We had direct flights from Winnipeg so that was pretty sweet! Got there around lunch and had no problems getting to the resort. The only thing I didn't enjoy going to the hotel was after you get your luggage, you get bombarded with timeshare people. They will pretend to work for the airlines and tell you "where you are" but deep down, they get you with timeshares. There's a corridor they all stand in, I just walked ahead and tried to ignore them, but they got us, as soon as I knew what was going on, I moved along. Posada has a great charm to it, the food is just fine, that I really don't think you need to go off the resort. Unfortunately, while I was down there, I got hit with a stomach bug, and it was pretty bad, my appetite was non existent, and I survived off of soup for a couple of days! I don't think it was from the food, it could've been from that, or accidently drinking shower water...to drinking the girliest of girly drinks possible...I couldn't figure it out! There were theme nights at dinner time, there was an Italian night, or a Chinese food night, there was always something for everyone. I would've loved more selection for breakfast as I'm pretty picky, but there was always something for someone! There are no a la cartes, which is unfortunate, I would love at least one to change things up a little bit. It's not realistic, but another building would be great that had a restaurant and a place for the nightly activities would be really cool. I'd help you guys build it If you needed! There are 2 bars on this resort, they open at 11 and close at 11. The beach bar opens at 11, and closes around 5 or 6, and the lobby bar opens around 6...I forget!. Personally, I think 11pm is a little too early to close. I know that this is more of a "family resort" but c'mon, make it midnight or 12:30!!! The bars have everything, a great mix of lots of drinks! You cannot go wrong! We did a bar hop the second night we were there. We went with a couple of people from the resort, we went to Cabo San Lucas on a bus, and we went to 4 bars. It was lots of fun, and pretty cheap, I think it was less than 50$ American. There were lots of excursions you could do for fairly cheap. If you go to the front desk there's a list of exursions! I danced for about 5 hours straight and I couldn't walk for two days, so It was worth it! There's a pool, I had no complaints with it...plus a swim up bar. Not bad at all! I think every second day a girl named Rosita does the activities in the pool. She also runs the bar hop too, she was soo down to earth and lots of fun, I highly recommend her. You can't swim in the ocean, the waves are just brutal. I was told if you went for a small walk, you could swim at the beach, but never tried it. You can take a bus to Cabo San Lucas too, it's only like 35 pesos, and in 45 minutes you are there. San Lucas is a cool town, it's more trendy and more "vibrant" than San Jose Del Cabo. San Jose is still a fun town, but it's more quiet if you like that thing. I liked both. If you want snacks or if you want to pick anything up from sunscreen to snacks, there is a MEGA store which is about a 5-10 minute walk. You can't go wrong there! P.S bring lots of sunscreen with you before you come to Cabo, since the prices are out of this world expensive!! If you venture into San Jose, and you love sports, I suggest going to the bar "Shooters" it's so much fun, its super chill, but if you are like me and love your sports, they have everything from football to hockey and soccer...etc.. We went when the NHL playoffs started, so there were lots of Canadians and Americans watching hockey...it was pretty cool! We went there 4 times, and never had a problem. One night was a gong show busy, but It didn't bother me. The rooms were a little outdated. You don't spend a lot of time in the rooms, so it wasn't a make or break for me. I wasn't looking for luxury, as long as the A/C works and the bed isn't hard like a rock, I'll be okay. I think maybe it might be time to touch up the rooms and update it, but again, not the end of the world. Our room was on the 3rd floor, we overlooked the garden, and it was always fun to look to the restaurant and to see if it was busy or not.. lol All in all, Posada Real was incredible! We met so many great people that it made the trip worthwhile! We met an awesome couple from Michigan...Jess and Bill...those two were an absolute blast...BFF's for life! We met a fella from Calgary by the name of Phil. This guy was a character and a half....always a joker. The Flames played the Jets while we were down there, so we had to watch the game together and cheer against each other. We met some awesome people from Winnipeg...Dan, Charlene, Lynette, Shannon, Ashley and Rick. We met another fella from BC, Barry...this guy was a cool guy! Anyway, what I'm trying to get at was this hotel was full of down to earth people who like us, want to meet new people, rest by the pool and just have a good time. That's what it's all about, we work our butts off, it's nice to spend a week and put our feet up. I absolutely loved this resort, it had everything I wanted in a resort...there are some things that I wish changed like the time the bar stayed open till and maybe a bigger selection for breakfast in the morning, but other than that, everything was perfect and I'd go back to this resort in a second! Actually, I think we're going back in March of 2016! I know I probably missed a ton of stuff. **Oh! It'd be nice if they could get a pool table or a fooseball table, or a big checkers game, so there's more stuff to do during the day on the resort because at times lounging around the pool took it's toll. Oh! During lunch, you can order off a menu by the pool, you can get burgers and fries and fish tacos..etc...the food was superb and recommend that if you don't want to do the buffet!
"our first mexican all inclusive goes well"
we came here for my partners 60th birthday and stayed for a week all inclusive.. After looking at about 100 reviews for the area we decided on the posada real.. first of all and not important to us...the rooms are ok..not great they are clean and the bathroms have hot water and clean towels etc(not the hyatt ok) the important thing for us was how important most of 99% of the entire staff made us feel.. we had all inclusive package and they serve authentic Mexican food which my wife loves and we never had a meal we didn't like.. it was buffet style but the change things up daily..not the same old buffet with fresh fish, great chicken ,pork, fresh yummy fruit ,desserts. the liquor if your all inclusive is beer on tap and they make great cocktails using Mexican liquors, liqueurs, wines they have a nice pool with swim up bar, mini golf, volleyball, table tennis, a beach that goes forever in both directions.. only the truly great swimmers would venture into ocean as undertow is extremely dangerous with no rescue team around.. We would recommend posada real for folks who do not have a need for luxurious accommodation.. hope this was a little helpful
"Paradise"
if you looking for a large resort type experience this isn't it, It's on the smaller side but well worth it! Rooms are nice, upgrade to ocean view (cost was about 17.00 extra) well worth it. The food was buffet, but amazing , pool food is to order and very good..the staff go out of their way to make you happy, each of them we encountered were fabulous. Very clean, beach is very close and beautiful..short walk to town.
"Epitome of Customer Service"
This is a model resort for great customer service! Thanks Joel, Benito, Enrichque, & others for my our anniversary trip to remember. I could get past the outdated rooms when every staff greeted me with a smile and made me feel like we were the only customer there. I plan to return for a girls trip next year and years to come! I wasn't crazy about the food but the location is so close to everything, so it did matter. Breakfast was the best, the omelettes and Mexican coffee gave me life each morning. The beach was breathtaking, although I would have preferred not to have to see horse manure daily. The weather was nice, it only rained one morning.
"Friendly with great food"
We booked a 7 day all inclusive with this resort. It was comfortable and the food was great. Yes the rooms could use an update, but they were clean and the staff was really friendly. Keep in mind; it is inexpensive. We liked the layout of the hotel around the garden. I would suggest requesting a garden view room. It has a swim up bar in the pool and is right on the beach. Though be warned that you can not swim in the ocean here as it has an extreme undertow. Cabo San Lucas is one 30-40 minute air-conditioned bus ride away, or a forty US dollar cab ride. Also the small town of San Jose del Cabo is a 30 minute walk or a quick local bus ride away. Both worth seeing. The hotel also has a desk to book outings, from zip-lining to boating, fishing etc... In all, a very relaxing low key week.
"Friendly and Comfortable"
One of our favorite family resorts in Los Cabos with happy and friendly employees, great food and excellent service! The rooms could use a facelift but are comfortable with great views!!! Delicious buffets and varied menus to satisfy ant appetite!
"Best kept. Secret"
Here. Now, small quaint three storey. Mexican resort! All inclusive best for money friendly clean pools overlook water great service eat at the poolside fantastic food Swim up bar......location location Enjoying stay will return has everything one wants but best of all. Cleanliness and friendly. Along great food and service
"First time to Mexico and we LOVED this hotel!"
I read ALOT of reviews before choosing this one...I read some good, some bad, some awesome and some ugly...this one falls in the AWESOME category... Check in: 15 minutes tops...had a tequila from the big glass jar in the lobby while waiting... Room: First room was on second floor and it was lovely....garden facing...you can see the ocean...the pool, the restaurant ...basically everything... King bed was super comfy...there are 5 pillows in the room...even if they are bit flat...there are 5...so no problem.... Bathroom is fine...there is a tub...I love a good bubble bath....so the grout is a bit blah...so what ....do you know the humidity here? A lot of what some might call old and used is because it is hot and wet...the tile floor is lovely....the coffee packets were awesome....we had coffee on the patio every morning... We upgraded to ocean front for the last 3 days...another lovely room...view is amazing and the crashing waves was awesome to listen to...it is a quick stroll over to the pool bar where the lovely gentlemen will serve you cocktails and snacks all afternoon...the rooms are really not as bad as people have commented...I mean I guess if you are used to really fancy then this might disappoint...but really we had a super clean and bright room...TV is fine...we watched a few movies!! We were perfectly comfy in our room... Food: Very home cooked feel to the food...we always found something yummy and some of the things i had were just awesome...mushroom soup to die for...chips and quacamole awesome...clubhouse sandwishes...I think we ate them 4 out of fine days for a snack...breakfast choices are interesting but I like to have cottage cheese and fruit...make a little lettuce and tomatoe on toast....there is pancakes and french toast ...sausage and ham....potatoe dishes, sometimes rice...beef and peppers, sometimes omlettes...cereal, oatmeal...bagels....juices...various local dishes...i love them all...some thing in red or green...tortilla pieces in sauces...I could eat it all day!! Lunch and dinner are also just fine...always something to choose from...I suppose some people would expect something different...we were very happy...pasta night was delicious...ravioli and shrimp alfredo is what i chose...delicious... So generally we always enjoyed our meals...we thought it was beautiful food. Staff: The staff as many have said are the best...we thought they were just the most friendly and fun people...we stay in a hotel in Waikiki that has the same kind of people...love them all...pool service by Benito...A+ bartenders A+ housekeeping A+ desk staff A+ even all the grounds people were freindly and always smiling... All in all we enjoyed our stay so much we will go back there next September for sure. We will look forward to a second vacation and maybe this will be a yearly destination... Another note is there is shopping and places to eat and drink right nearby...we took the bus to downtown twice and had a wonderful time...next trip we will go for longer and venture out and about...we had a wonderful vacation and we thank every one at Posada Real for making our first trip to Mexico a huge success!
"Nice place for the price!"
We decided to stay for one more night in San Jose del Cabo and chose Posada Real because we could walk from where we were checking out and the price was only 134$ for the two of us with all inclusive drinks. We checked in around 12pm and they had a room for us and didn't mind that we were early- we took advantage of the pool and bar for our stay and were quite satisfied. Having been to an all inclusive for the 3 previous days, we were thoroughly disappointed with the meals and found much better food and service outside of the hotel- all we really needed was all inclusive drinks- Posada Real was just the ticket. The front desk staff were excellent and very helpful- Urbano Valdivia and Nagemy! When we were checking out they helped us with getting a taxi to El Herradero (great food-highly recommend!)and told us how much a taxi would be from there to the airport. It's not a luxury resort but it has a nice pool and a great price for all inclusive drinks and breakfast included- if your are on a budget- this is a great place!
"great value, homey feel"
Visited first week of September 2015 with my wife and our 2 teenage children. First, it is an older property and could use some updates. However, it is very clean. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day, the grounds/gardens are constantly being attended to and the pool kept nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All personnel who interact with guest speak good English. The staff learned it was my wives birthday and our anniversary and they set aside a table for us with balloons and gave us a cake with candles then the staff sang to us. We had bought a bottle of wine and the captain personally took care of us and really made us feel very special. Location is great- can walk downtown San Jose in 15-20 minutes and a 5 minute walk to the Mega (like a Walmart). It is right on the beach but you cannot swim there because of large waves and currents. It is a beautiful, very well maintained beach with plenty of chairs/tables with umbrellas. Horses go by every day so opportunities to ride on the beach. It was the season for the sea turtles to lay eggs and we saw several every night. Awesome! There are only 2 choices of places to eat at the hotel but the food was good, they offered a nice variety and was different every day. The pool and swim up bar was nice and service pool side was superb- just a great staff. They have some activities most days at the pool from an outside group that comes in and they do a good job of entertaining and getting the guest to interact. We made some awesome friends there. Rosio headed up the activities and was so much fun. My wife said she wanted to tape her so she could listen to her every morning to get her motivated for the day. If you are looking for 5 Star- this is not your place. If you are looking for a basic hotel with a nice staff and a great value- this is your place. We met a couple that visits Cabo often and they own expensive time shares. They always start at the Pasada Real and stay 3-4 days before they go to their time shares because this place is so friendly and helps them unwind. That is what I like about this place- we would stay here again.
"Nice Visit"
The hotel itself looks like it's getting an update, at least the outside. The rooms were fine; they were clean but tile and things like that could use a good bleaching. The people there were exceptional though! Great staff, very helpful and constantly on the move to help make our stay enjoyable. The food was very good - one of my favorites was the grilled fish and my son really enjoyed the pork. Each day was a good variety and we thoroughly enjoyed trying new dishes. I also loved the poblano pepper soup - it was delicious! They had a selection each night of soups too. Great stay over all. The pool was pleasant, right on the beach, chairs and umbrellas available. Fantastic and relaxing vacation! The only real downfall is that to do activities, you have to travel to Cabo San Lucas and the taxis rides are expensive. We were told you could ride the bus, but didn't find the pickup spot until later. One other thing, there were no elevators so if you need a ground floor, be sure and request it!
