Sunset Marina Resort is one of our favourite places for a quieter vacation. The staff are great, the food has enough variety, and the small boat allows us to move between the sister property (Royal Sunset) and this one easier, to enjoy the ocean, the various restaurants, etc. It's well kept, the room was perfect, and we received everything we wanted and asked for. We'll be back !

"Sunset Lagoon was fantastic!"
The Sunset Lagoon was fabulous! The staff was amazing - Cougar, Johnathan, Alex, Alexi, Pam, Cynthia, Pepe - everyone! No, you can't swim in the lagoon, but the ferry and bus will take you over to the sister hotel for free every hour. The beach at the sister hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The water was warm, clean and soooo blue! However, at the Sunset Lagoon they have a swim-up bar in the swimming pool, which is very cool. The setup of the hotel is really neat - it's all open (no doors), and the tropical walkways to each room are so pretty. The food was pretty good - I especially liked the breakfast buffet. Lots of choices. The nightly shows were really fun too - especially the Carribean show and the International show. Definitely would stay there again!
"IT IS THE BEST!!!!!"
The view at Sunset Lagoon was beautiful! I went with my boyfriend and sister and neice. We all had a wonderful time! I miss everyone including Cougar,Johnathan,Irma,Fernando,Rudy,Pepe and all the staff! I miss Alex and his many iiiijaaas. All the staff really completed my vacation. We will return next year with alot more people beacause we want to share in the pleasures that we had! THANKS!!!

ME and my husband love the Sunsetlagoo, looking at packaged in the sunset lagoo I came across this webpage and decided to share the awsome time we had, the staff is the best out there, Isabell the night bartender, Cougar, Nancy and everyone else made the trip to Cancun one to remember and one to look forward to on our next tripp. GREAT FOOD.

The staff is excellant and go out of their way to make you feel special. What can I say, these guys do it up right. My wife and I had a wonderful time. We left there feeling like we were leaving long time friends, and we were. You will not regret staying here. Everyone knew every one's name. What a blast. If you do not want a time share, just say no no no no no no! Cougar and the crew are great. We will be going back with the kids very soon.

Wow... I dont even know where to start... I have never had so much fun in my life. I always told myself that Florida was the best place ever, was I ever so wrong. Cancun has been a big dream for me and I got to go finally. I miss Cougar,Johnathan,Tere,Irma,Adrian,Alex,Gustavo, David,Pepe,Fernando,Juan,Rody,Rudy,Pam,Nasario,Alexis and many more!! I am a shy girl... I felt like I really opened up to all the staff then i could of ever imagined me doing, they were fun to talk to, fun to party with, and easy going. All I can remeber is at least meeting half of the people up above on the first day! They made me feel so special, everyone of them! I wish I was there right now! Hearing Alex saying iijaaaa! Or Couger saying Papa seito!! Or Johnathan with his warming smile always on his face! I miss all the night shows, I miss singing follow the leader leader leader, and dancing to the music. I know i cant dance but when your there your having such a wonderful time you dont even think about it. I've told many of my friends about it and I'm bringing alot more people with me next year! I'm sure they will all love it! All I can say to the staff is thanks! and.... NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA HEY HEY HEY GOODBYE!!! luv yah!!
"This seems to be the best hotel!!"
I stayed at this hotel for the first time during SPRING BREAK in 2001. After three nights there I decided to book for the following year. If your young, SPRING BREAK is the time to be here. This will mark my forth year down to Cancun and I decided to Stay for 16 nights and 17 days this time. I met alot of the staff from coming to Cancun and staying at this hotel and now as I thought that I would have to watch out, they call me part of the family. Yeah, I though that it was kinda funny and didn't really trust any of them until one night the manager said, hey why don't all yor friends and some of us from the hotel go out and get a bit to eat downtown, a little worried we did and kinda funny they bought. Now two years later not only do just My friend and I go to the hotel, I bring ALL my friends to Cancun and stay here. GREAT PLACE, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, WONDERFUL STAFF, GoOd FoOd!!!!! UNTIL THEN...........
"Great time"
I stayed at the Sunset Lagoon Aug11-18th and it was one of the greatest times i've had, not only was the service excellent, the atmosphere and the staff at the hotel are very friendly and courteous....i met alot of people from the states and we all became good friends...i highly recommend this hotel to anyone lookin for relaxation or also if u just wanna party, cause the nightlife is hopping...i loved it and plan to go back very soon......
"Sunset is "Sun"sational!!!"
We bought a timeshare here last year and this was the first time we stayed at the Sunset. We stayed for 2 full weeks and everything went smoothly from making reservations to arranging for transportation. Our room was EXACTLY like the display room and was gorgeous. The minibar was stocked daily and when our babies fell asleep early one night, we had steak, baked potatoes, and salads delived right to the room. (No extra cost for all inclusive!!!) We have stayed a lot of places in Cancun and no place has ever been so accomodating and clean. My 2 year old daughter fell in love with Rudy, who came up with cookies and milk for her snack - even when these items weren't displayed on the buffet! This place must be the best kept secret in Cancun. We napped in a hammock one day, sat in the jacuzzi on our patio another day and then lazed in the shade under an tiki hut on another. If you are looking for relaxation, this is where you want to go. The vegetation growing all over the winding path to your room makes you feel like you've stepped into another world and the (included) boat ride across the lagoon to the sister resort gives you an awesome view of the entire resort from the water. The staff is incredible. I can't say enough. We traveled with a 2 1/2 year old and a 9 month old and we felt as if the entire staff became a part of our family. We were given as little or as much attention as we needed. If you want to be pampered, this is it. All the little "extras" will make us return every year with our family. Terri, Cougar, Make, Rudy, Rodrigo, Carlos, Juan and everyone - you made the Sunset Lagoon into my vacation paradise!
"Fabulous Staff!"
Our thanks go to all the staff at the restaurant: Rudy, Raul, Gonzalo, Dalia, Aurora, Sergio, the younger and older Franciscos, Higinio, and Miguel for impeccable and friendly service. And to concierge, Arturo. And to Fabian who greeted us with a smile. Our room was wonderfully clean thanks to Francesca. We had skillful massages by Pety and Rosa. To the resort boss, your staff is your best asset!!!! We enjoyed the beautiful pool, the view from our balcony onto the lagoon, the yacht ride to Isla Mueralis was spectacular. Be sure to take care of that coral reef...it is one of natures beauties. This resort is laid back and quiet but there are many opportunities for noise and gala easily available.
"FANTASTICO"
I really enjoyed staying at sunset marina with my family there was plenty of opportunities to swim in both oceans and pools best of all the service was excellente!! Especially Ceferino,Zacarias and Henry who looked after us in the restraunt area but also in the lobby 10/10!!! The activities was great especially bingo,volleyball and water aerobics even the spa was amazing I highly recommend the resort
"WHAT A WONDERFUL STAY ONCE AGAIN!!!"
As members of Sunset World my husband and I decided to stay at the Sunset Lagoon this year and brought my mom for a vacation after recently loosing her mother my grandma. A much needed break we all needed and again no complaints!!! The resort was wonderful! We stayed for 2 wonderful weeks and would highly recommend everyone to stay. From the wonderful staff at the front desk Helena, our maid Flora, our amazing spa days with Rosa and Peti, the friendly and always helpful bartender Raul (and very talented he carved beautiful birds out of watermelons, and made some out of bananas) my mom was going to bring him home, the restaurant staff starting with the forever smiling Rudy, Zacarias, Henry (who saved both my mom and I when we were not feeling so good!, Sergio,Gonzalas, Higinis, and Dalia. Daily by the pool we were entertained by Vania who we played Bingo, and other games. And yes she even had us doing excercise's in the pool on holidays. We met wonderful forever friends whom we will meet there again next year and look so forward to seeing all the staff whom are now our extended family. Miss them all and the resort as well.

The friendliest staff I've ever encountered at any hotel (and we travel a lot!). Granted we got to know them pretty well as we spent a fair amount of time at the bar, but they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They even packed us all (group of 4) lunch packs with sandwich and fruit for the plane trip back to Canada! How nice is that?!?

"Amazing Place just a Paradise"
was perfect place to relax and Have an excellent rest. view of the hotel and grounds make this a true paradise. The variety and delicious meals. the attention of the hotel staff is the best. in this hotel you can find diferents During activies all day And Also at night. Besides all room are very bigs, you have a lot of space and the room cleaning is every day. the staff is very friendly and polite, all are always in birndar disposition of any help or indication.

I had a wonderful time with my best friend. We upgraded to a 1 bedroom with a wonderful view of the Lagoon. The weather was great. The staff was wonderful; Alexander (entertainment), Sievio, Henry and Raul (bartender/server). I plan on going back there again next year.
"Annual visit to Cancun"
I had an excellent two weeks holiday at this all inclusive hotel. It was low season so fairly quiet but everything was up to standard as expected. It is a combination of all the things that make a holiday all coming together - the room, the staff, the food and the weather. The Room - very comfortable, everything working and well looked after daily by an excellent maid. The fridge was well stocked on a daily basis. The Staff - all excellent in the customer service they provided - Fabian, the Belly Boy, Helena always smiling and helpful), VIP Services and the other Receptionists, Aurora, Arturo and Alba the Concierges, Dalia who was the hostess for dining during the day (always smiling) [helping out whilst Rudy was away] and the waiters Zucarias, Gonzalo, Francisco, Sergio and Raul and in the evening Seferino ably supported by Henri and Miguel. All were excellent excuse me if I have forgotten anybody. Gerardo was the Hospitality Manager, Adriana was the Head Chef who produced high quality food from really fresh fruit and vegetables and not forgetting Aurora who supplied me with omelettes at breakfast. I must also include Amadeo and Sivideo who looked after the Lobby Bar and the Pool Bar. The food - as I mentioned earlier was of good quality and offered plenty of variety that suited both carnivores and vegetarians and was always well presented. The flowers always looked wonderful as did the fruit and vegetable carvings. The Entertainment was provided and organised by Alexander, Vania and DJ Ivan. The shows were good and always followed by some fun. I must confess to losing to Vania in a game of giant jenga and the punishment was a shot of tequila (what a punishment!!). Crisal entertained in the Lobby Bar and was excellent (Thursday 18 September particularly rocked) her repertoire includes more English/American songs and she is developing into a fine performer. I should mention the unsung heroes - the cleaners - the gardeners - the handy men always on the go keeping the place looking smart and tidy. The weather - 1 wet afternoon, a couple of cloudy days, a couple of storms overnight - never cold. I met and enjoyed a few chats with Barry and Joanne and Ken and Donna - visitors are friendly as well.
"Had a wonderful holiday"
Came here with my grandparents and my mum we stayed a week here and a week at sunset royal. Loved it I spent my birthday here and the hotel staff we're fantastic I had a party with a cake and a lovely evening. Loads to do for children, I went canoeing which was rather scary but a great experience, played football and all sports. Rooms are brilliant so much space. Food was amazing and lots of choice. Had a really amazing time and would return if it wasn't so expensive.

"Proud to have met all the staff/ New family and freinds/Best vacation ever."
From the moment we stepped out of the van, the journey began. Amadeo was there waitng with a smile to offer us the first Margarita. I have 20 years of hotel experience so the experience with Helena R. was exceptional. She was always ready to help with a smile. The one thing I was a little taken back by was everywhere I went in Cancun almost all of the properties I visited had a strong mildew smell. This property was the cleanest place I think I ever have stayed. I have so much gratitude for all the staff I didnt have one negative experience with any of the team.May I mention Francisco from the restraunt, Jose cruz, Zaravias, Henry, Fabian. I will definetly return again and again.Our room was really perfect the housekeeper always had our bar stocked. Gerald, Mara, Francisco would all like to thank you guys for all that you have done.If I have forgotten some names please give all credit..
"Amazing vacation"
Staff are very friendly, very accommodating specially Rudy ,Dalia, Gabriel Gonzalo Francisco, in the restaurant, Helena in the front desk. The waiters are really hard working, efficient, amazing offering their serviced as much as they can thought they are very busy serving a lot of people. We like Diego very much but unfortunately he was laid off during our vacation.
"Our sixth visit in six years!"
We can't say enough about the staff. You will never find any more accommodating people than at Sunset Lagoon. These are the best: Fabian, Zacarias, Erica, Rudy, Sergio, Francisco, Cesar, Obed, Gonzalo, Aldrin, Dalia, Enrique, Jose Luis, Arturo, and the entertainment staff. The location of Sunset is very relaxing. You will find mainly families staying there but entertainment is offered almost nightly. The food is wonderful with a choice of restaurants and food can also be ordered room service and poolside. Contrary to a recent review, we loved the menu each day and the white fish was wonderful. The variety of food is unbelievable. Everyone tries to make your vacation as wonderful as possible, and that is why we go back every year. One note: Mr. Grumpy, the former manager was relieved of his duties, and a new manager is in charge, much to our delight!
"Great place for first time visitors to Cancun"
I like to start off by saying a Mucho Gracias!!! to our servers for all our meals here especially to guys like Gonzalo, Gabriel, Rudy, Juan Diego, Sergio, & Higino for their friendly and courteous service to me and my family. Those guys really made us appreciate the warmth and humor of the Mexican people. The buffet was varied for each meal from breakfast to dinner. The rooms were nicely furnished and clean. The mini fridge was always restocked with water, beer, & soda as well as snacks for the kiddies. There weren't too many folks around which meant you didn't have crowds at the buffet, the pool, the water activities, & the shuttle bus to the sister resort Royal Sunset. Overall a really decent place to stay at while in Cancun.
