"Another Awesome Vacation"
My wife and I spent another 2 wonderful weeks at the Suncape for the from Nov 27 to Dec 11. The Sunscape is a 4 star Mexican Hotel that sits in the middle of the bay of Ixtapa. The view is awesome from the hotel and grounds are in fantastic shape. We love the beach here even if you have to get up early to get a good spot. The food at the hotel is 4 star. Our favorite restaurant is the Japanese Gohan for fantastic sushi and other Asian favorites. We ate there every night it was open and were never disappointed. Some reviews talk about small portions which I find amusing being 6'-5" and 280 lbs. I have never left feeling hungry usually it's the other way I am stuffed. The staff at hotel work very hard to make sure your trip is the best it can be. Our rooms was kept spectacularly clean, service at the front desk was always great, the only thing lacking was the beach service some days but just relax and enjoy remember you are on mexico time. We were planning to go somewhere different next year like Cuba but after 3 days we realized that this is our vacation home. We met so many nice fellow Canadian couples on our trip and made plans to see them next year at the Sunscape. My only suggestion to those that have had a negative time in Ixtapa is remember where you are and if you want a 5 star North American style vacation maybe don't come here. If you want a great Mexican vacation Ixtapa is awesome choice.
"Nice relaxing vacation in Ixtapa 26Dec2013 -2Jan2014"
My adult daughter and I travelled to Ixtapa on Boxing Day from Kelowna. I have visited probably 10 other resorts in Mexico from Cancun and south of Cancun to Nuevo Vallarta and Puerto Varllarta. What makes this one nice is that it isn't a huge property with the whole thing so spread out that you feel like you're always walking instead of relaxing. Also I would give the staff a big shout out for being enthusiastic and helpful. They enjoy their jobs and people and it shows! The food was excellent in the restaurants. The Ixtapa Bay was one of the most beautiful settings I have seen, including a wonderful clean beach, perfect for early or late walking. My daughter loves volleyball and there were 2 scheduled games on the beach every day which some people walked down the beach to join so there was always enough enthusiasts for a good game to last over an hour. I love swimming and found the pool to be just the right temperature (there was warm water running into it) and big enough that I could swim around if I chose to. The shopping area is right across the street but varies from typical souvenirs to very upscale clothing stores, not much in between. Bring what you need for sunscreen etc. or you will pay a lot for it here. I will end by saying that this is the furthest south I have been in Mexico and it was definitely much hotter than other places I've stayed. Take your hat and lots of sunscreen. Look for shade the first couple of days or pay the price!
"Ixtapa vacation'"
This was our third time in Ixtapa and our second stay at the Sunscape. We spent two glorious weeks from November 9 to 23rd. The staff here are the best, they are so friendly, and make you feel special. I would like to give an extra shout out to a few of the staff. Ramiro and his entertainment crew always kept things going with a lot of activities thru out the day and into the evening. They all work so hard. Alberto, what can I say, he is so much fun, non stop energy, and such a special person! Benito, he is so sweet, always making sure everything was good. Saul who was all over the place, looking out for everyone. Raymondo, always with the biggest smile, you made the best drinks! I'm sorry, I forget the name of the girl that made my cappuccino's from the coffee bar every morning. She knew exactly how I liked them, and they were so good! There is miles of beachfront for long walks.Take advantage of a massage on the beach, there are lots of huts set up just down a little way, and you can't beat the price at 150 pesos for an hour massage. The hotel is so convenient to everything. The town is across the street, which has many shops, restaurants and bars if you want to eat or drink off the resort. Zihuatenejo is a 15 minutes cab ride away. This was a wonderful, relaxing vacation and I would highly recommend Ixtapa.
"When the Unexpected happens...."
If you are reading reviews to determine to stay at this resort...look no further. We are SO happy we choose to come back to Ixtapa on a second visit. Our stay was BEYOND our expectations!! From the beautiful resort, the accommodations, the restaurants and the exquisit food selection (portions that suited us ...leaving you full but not over stuffed),, to the amazing staff who offered prompt attention with sincere caring and concern for our needs, Clean , bright, roomy, with a playful entertainment staff...all was amazing!! We had upgraded to a ocean front view and were extremely happy with the room. The view from the 16th floor was spectacular, sunsets from the balcony unbelievable, and the view looking down to the pool or into the lobby were worth every cent!! Due to a mishap with a unexpected wave one evening, we needed abit more amenities from the hotel than a normal stay would of been.... the support we recieved through this was beyond our expectaions! We recieved everything and more ...We want to commend all the staff , especially Sandra, Michelle, Jose, Bryan, Sergio, Saul, the entertainment staff, Mr. Garcia and EVERYONE that helped make our stay one we'll truely remember forever!!
"It's not the issue it's how you handle it......"
Hey guys, I wanted to explain my experience so far on this hotel. First off, If you ever have any worries about safety and security, That's a non-issue, This place/property is the best, We have traveled to Ixtapa many years now and this is the best property yet. The lobby is beautiful, as are the grounds. We have a Suite room 1416, It was a bit warm we asked to be moved to another room. Instantly we were moved. My son and daughter are here with me. We asked to remove the beers from the free minibar and replace with coke. not 10 mins later it was full of cokes. We are still staying here and I will continue to review the property. Buy as it stands now. Excellent service all over!- David
"Excellent Vacation"
The staff make all the difference at this top notch, clean and very well kept resort. The food was exceptional with buffet for breakfast and al la cart for other meals. Portion sizes were smaller then North American but had incredible presentation and excellent flavour. That way you could enjoy each course without getting stuffed (and even order extra courses if desired), which was an advantage. Reservations were not required for restaurants. There is a small snack shack serving hot dogs, burgers, nachos, fruit, popcorn if you need a walk by meal instead of restaurant during the day. The beach was wonderful and great for morning walks. We went in early December and got to watch the regular evening release of just hatched sea turtles. The waves hitting the shore ranged from about a foot to over 3 feet so entering/leaving the ocean was not easy if you're expecting to do a lot of swimming. Most people waded into the water. You could body surf but one end of the beach had better waves for that. For snorkelling, Ixtapa Island is a short 20 minute bus ride and water taxi ride afterwards--very easy to get to and also very enjoyable! The pool and area was certainly large enough to accommodate when the hotel was at capacity with well designed depth changes so younger kids naturally separated themselves from older ones/adults. But, as said already, the staff were incredibly helpful, cheerful, and positive, quick to respond to your requests or offer to lend a hand if they thought you needed it. They were even encouraging with our awful attempts at Spanish. The entertainment crew had high energy with a full day planned you could participate in. The hotel room and grounds were very tastefully decorated, impeccably clean and well maintained just like you see in their photos. We enjoyed the air conditioning, free wifi, and view from our balcony. The weather was consistently 24C in the morning to 33-34C in the day with little wind. This is a resort we look forward to retuning to.
"Best mexico beach destination"
I have stayed at this hotel more than 15 years ago, at that time I believe it was just a hotel , not all inclusive. They have done a wonderful job to make this a great resort. Rooms are bright and cheerful.It is nice to have a balcony to enjoy the sunset. The staff is very eager to please, always smiling. The food in the restaurants has a good variety and always fresh. We really enjoyed the restaurant on the beach, the presentation of the food was very beautiful. You will never get a "watered down" drink, they are strong !!! Great pool and beach area. It was nice not to have to listen to loud pool music as most resorts do. We are already looking forward to another vacation at this resort.
"wonderful vacation!"
Love this place! Not to stuffy, clean, great food, best of all is the staff. The people that work here are what make this place worth coming back for a longer vacation next year. Blanca, Alberto, the entertainment staff are excellent. Wait staff Benito, Saul, Ornalpho, Bernice, Garaminia, Adalide, Alicia anticipate your every wish. Coco Palm and Ruby starts your day with great coffee and warm . Bar staff with Simon, Isreal, Raymondo, Artenio, Antonio, Marcelo place a drink in your hand even before you ask. So many more people who work very hard Abagail the hostess to Nila our maid made this a fantastic vacation!
"Great vacation...."
We stayed in Ixtapa from November 6-20, 2013. I have to say what a great time we had. The staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful in any way possible. Because we were there during low season all the restaurants weren't open but there was always a place to eat. I liked the fact that you didn't need a reservation at any of the restaurants and we were able to get in at any time. Thanks to Raymando at the barracuda bar and his Raymando specials which you have to try. Special no. 1 and no. 2 you have to ask for, you won't regret it. Thanks Raymando you are the best. Also to simon, Claudia, the entertainment crew that kept us busy during the day. The waiters in the resturants and all the cleaning staff, awesome job. The beach was very clean and the pool was always warm. The only drawback was the weekends. The hotel opened to families and it got very busy. I didn't like the fact that the swim up bar was adult only and you couldn't find a seat as it was taken by children. But we usually found something else to do to get away from the crowds. You also have to walk down the beach to your right and have one of the best massages for $15 for an hour. Hut no. 4 and 5. Well worth the walk. We would definitely return to Ixtapa.
"Awesome"
If you want to go to Mexico I highly recommend Ixtapa. Food and service was perfect. It wasn't busy so it was very relaxed. The water and beaches were also very clean. Hotel was very well kept and clean. I have been to PV, Los Cabos, Cancun, and the Mayan. The resort was the best yet. Staff was very nice to deal with and super friendly. Great stay and will definitely go back next year.
"WICKED AWESOME"
My family just returned from my parents 50th wedding anniversary and I can't begin tell you how much we all loved it. My wife and I had been to Ixtapa in 2005 and was very pleased to be able to go back. From the time we arrived till the time we hopped on the bus to leave yesterday we were treated with the BEST of service always with a smile. My son, brother, nephew and myself took my father fishing and was able to see my dad bring in a 95lb sailfish and my brother bring in a Mahi Mahi. Wicked awesome time. Restaurant staff was always fantastic. We tipped great so in returned had unbelievable service. Eric, Tomas, Raul and GG were our favorite waiters but all others helped out great as well. Pool service was great but want to mention one waiter that went out of his way for us. Gersain. What a great man. He would see us walking to the pool and would have our drinks ready for us. We treated him like family and it showed. Entertainment staff. This group of people helped to make our trip what it was. Alberto, Carlos and others always came to us, talked with us and participated in activities with our family. A special thank you to Himer. Never before has a staff member from any resort we have stayed at been so kind and generous as this man was. He participated in activities with my family and even sang a song to my mother had had a dance with her. The day we left he brought my family a wooden carving as a souvenir as now he felt like part of our family. He also gave me a necklace that his father made for him and I was so thankful. Himer, you are awesome. From watching the turtle release, the beach, para sailing, snorkeling, watching the Sask Riders win the Grey Cup, to everything else, wonderful time. Only small beef I had was the hard bed but I can totally live with that. We as a group will definitely be going back.
"The best resort we have ever found"
We recently got back from another fantastic vacation at Ixtapa. In all our travels we have never met better and friendlier staff. They treat you like you're their best friend. Our thanks to Alberto from the entertainment team , Marcello in the lounge ,and Benito a great waiter for making our stay so enjoyable. We are happy to have found such a great family resort.
"Excellent service in a beautiful setting"
The staff at this hotel is committed to providing the best service to their guests, as we experienced repeatedly during our stay. Our room was kept beautifully clean and extra towels were available for the asking. The mini bar selection was also tailored to our request. The variety of menu items throughout the various restaurants was diversified and always fresh. This is a great place for families as there is a staff contingent dedicated to entertaining the children who are guests at the resort. There is also always something to do for the adult guests. So whether you wish to just sit and read at the pool, want to parasail, like to play beach volleyball or enjoy aqua-fit, it's all here, each day for you to enjoy!
"Mahi, Mahi"
Fishing was wonderful and eating your catch at the resort restaurant was even better. Mahi Mahi was fabulous. Thank you Marcelo for arranging cooking our catch. The a la carte restaurants were very good even though only one 1 or 2 were open each night. November is a great time to go because the resort wasn't very busy except on the weekends. The Mexicans show up on the weekend and bring all their kids. Busy and noisy on the weekends and quiet and relaxing on the weekdays. The beach and the pool were great. The activity guys were a lot of fun. The food was very good. The rooms were clean and the views and sunsets were great. Staff were nice and helpful. Let the time share people know up front that you aren't interested and they are very good at leaving you alone. Ixtapa island was a nice day trip full of snorkeling and good lunch. Shopping in the town was good as well. Not too many tourists in November. I would consider going to Ixtapa again.
"Complelty satisfaccion"
The service in general is amazing, but the entertaiment team is awsome congratulations for Ramiro and his entertaiment team for everything in general. Chencha(blanca),carlos,alberto e himer). The rooms were nice, the facilities were very clean. We would like to come back the next year. also special thanks to Rene the concierge he is very nice too. Once again thank you Ixtapa!!!!
"Great Vacation"
It was a really fun vacation. I had a great time and the service was great. I would defietly come to this hotel again if come to Ixtapa again. The employees were really good, especially Freddie and Brian. They were both really friendly and helpful with everything I needed. The price to stay in this hotel is very cheap. Lastly, I recommened that if you ever visit Ixtapa stay in this hotel. My family and I had a great time during this stay, and I would like to thank the employees for the great service.
"Vacation"
Ok this my first vacation to Ixtapa, Mxico. I have been to other all inclusive Hotels in the past. The hotel in ixtapa Mxico accomodations were fine. The service that Ii received were excellent. The staff was more than helpful and accomodating the guest. I met some new friends and was pleasently surprised by their loyalty to guest. I recommend this hotel to anyone that wishes to visit Ixtapa Mxico. The entertainment was the best. Blanca a staff member kept my family entertained during my 7 Day visit. She and her brother Carlos were very helpful with all guest at the hotel.

The stay here was awesome. They serve you really well, and entertainment was really fun! I felt like family as the staff get close to you in a way where you feel comfortable. There are various games that will connect with everyone. The food here was great as well, serving different things at different nights. All in all, I had a nice vacation.
"AVery good accomodations and excellent service!"
Our room was very confortable And the staff was amazing. Every meal had delicious food! We had a emixture of weather, some sun And some rain but mostly sun. We took two excursions; one into the countryside and another to an island with great beachs and snorkling. Much fun! We got to know Ral and Louis ( Gigi) who were often our waiters at the hotel restaurants. We felt like they were our friends by the end of our stay and Ren the concierge goes out of his way to helo in any way he can. The pool is very large and nice to swing in. The location of the hotel is right a very nice beach and also near the market for shopping. I very much recommend you stay at the Ultra Luxury Ixtapa Resort!

Definetly , i spent the best vacation ever with the company of great people.i would like to thank roberto, blanca and the staff from the entertainment for laughs that made our stay great.our family is now planning next year trip and we are serioslly thinking on going to the same hotel. we spent a day in the spa which was excelent, isabel was my teraphist and she really made me relax. we are even planning to have more family members to go next summer.

I have been to many beaches in Mexico, personally, the best staff at a hotel was here, they were just charming!! The hotel itself makes you feel comfortable, its infront of nightclubs and restaurants, everythings quite close. Plus, you cant reject a hotel that offers you drinks since you arrive. LOVE IT
"Stayed Twice."
Was here in December 2014 and April/May 2015. Two weeks each trip. Foods fine but get a bit bored of the same food day after day. The staff is wonderful serving you. Fortune price and location you can't beat it. very enjoyable and I'd stay here again.
