"It was a Dream come true."
My husband and I with two friends stayed from December 7th to the 14th. This is our second all-inclusive and although it was more expensive it was worth it. I first want to give huge commendation to specific members of the staff. First, Marlene our maid was awesome, was never in need of anything and she was so pleasant to talk to and always smiling. Armando at the front desk, answered all our questions and made our check-in stress free. This was especially appreciated because we came in about 8 p.m. and were pretty tired. Christian and Rick at the concierge desk were very helpful and pleasant.
Last but not least, Willy (waiter on the beach) He was always smiling and had a great sense of humor. Also quick with the service. Now this does not mean that we did not appreciate you all because we did. All the staff were always doing something, no slackers here.
On to the room, It was beautiful, just what the website showed. I'm not into modern but this room was tastefully done. Now the bed, can we say butta. My husband would love to know what kind of bed it was. He would love to get one. We also had a balcony facing the adult pool on 4th floor. Awesome to drink our coffee in the morning and talk about what we were going to do for the day. Everything worked well. Shower was nice, beautiful tile. The only thing that was a bummer was that there were kids right above us that were up at 6:30 a.m. But it is a family resort.
One of the things that we really loved was that the resort does not have bracelets, a towel card and reservations for the al a carte restaurants.
Cannot believe how relaxing that is not to have to wait in line in the morning to eat at night. It just cuts into the vacation. Granted this is a gated all-inclusive so they know who belongs there and who doesn't. But now that we've been spoiled by this I don't want to go to a resort that has these type of restrictions.
The beach and water are wonderful, we saw some cool stuff while snorkeling, a lion fish, a baby stingray and some cool looking squid amongst other colorful fish. Did not have any trouble what so ever getting a lounger. We didn't do any of the dolphin stuff but we were able to watch other people and that was really enjoyable.
The food was good at the buffet. Yes, there is some of the same stuff every day but they mixed it up. Go see Ana at the omelet station and she'll fix you up good. Now the al a carte restaurants were fabulous. Portofino's, super good mushroom soup and filet mignon. Everything we ate there was delish. Went to Oceana, very good also. Gohan's, Japanese food, tasted fresh and the presentation of all the food was amazing. I think I took more pictures of the food than anything else. Seaside grill, had the flank steak, it was like butter and the flavor was outstanding. So impressed with the food(can you tell). Went to El Patio for dessert and coffee, which was superb. Also the decorating of these restaurants were very tasteful and classy. Don't forget to stop in CoCo caf with free internet and enjoy an awesome espresso or whatever you may fancy. Yummy.
The entertainment that we saw, the juggler and the show with a little acrobat and balancing acts were ok. The rock show on the other hand was very good. Played super good 80's rock but unfortunately they played 3 songs and they had to stop due to the torrential downpour. All in all watching the entertainment team interact with children and adults alike was very respectful, never pushed you to do anything but just let you know what was happening that day.
In conclusion, we would definitely come here again and also recommend it to others. Thank you so much for a memorable vacation.
"Our Amazing Wedding At Puerto Aventuras 2013 w/ Jacki Muir"
My wife and I recently got married at the Resort & Spa in Riviera Maya, Mexico. We had Jacki Muir as our wedding coordinator, and we couldn't have been happier. We had 40 people attend our wedding in Mexico, and Jacki took excellent care of us.
The resort itself is beautiful; we got engaged there in 2011 and returned to get married there in 2013. Upon deciding to have our wedding in Mexico, we were given the name of Jacki Muir. She was amazing; she communicated with us throughout the entire process, made the wedding beautiful, kept us at ease, and took care of anything and everything we requested (which was a lot). She truly cared about us and put our needs at the forefront.
If anyone is considering visiting this resort, or getting married here, you will not be disappointed. The beach is beautiful, the food was great, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I just can't say enough about Jacki. Our wedding went flawlessly!!
Lastly, the rooms were great, and the housekeeping was good as well. Jacki and the Puerto Aventuras Resort and Spa deserve our highest recommendations!
"great experience and beautiful hotel"
My husband and I returned from Riviera Maya December 10th. we were celebrating our anniversary. This isn't our first trip to Mexico, but our first trip to Riviera Maya.
Our check in was smooth and we were given a king room (520) overlooking the family pool and with a great view of the ocean. With our room overlooking the family pool I was a little concerned about the noise. But I shouldn't have worried. We never heard any loud noise from the pool area. Well, except for the birds. And boy, they are LOUD. I found the air conditioner in our room worked very well. I even found the room to be a little chilly at night and had to adjust the air.
We found the beach very pretty and plenty of chairs available, but found an even better part of the beach. Much quieter, mostly adults and it had a great little swimming hole protected by the reef. Service at the bar was great! Domingo was always smiling and makes the best Mojitos. (Have him make the mojito with Absolute Citrone.) Willy was the server and was always checking on us to see if we needed anything.
I found the food at the buffet to be very nice. I found plenty of variety each day.
We ate at Portofinos on two different nights. Our wait to get seated was never more than 10-15 minutes and the food was fantastic. I have been to Italy a few times and the food at Portofinos was just as good as in Italy. I did not find the wait for my food to be excessive. Each course was brought out in prompt fashion and presented well.
We ate at the Seaside Grill a few times, and I have to say, the Fish Tacos and Juicy Lucy Burgers are great. We had sushi from the sushi restaurant and I have to say it was some of the best I have had.
The hotel does a good job of offering entertainment. We went to three of the shows and had a good time at each. I had a massage at the spa and was very pleased with the massage and the price.
This resort is in a gated community with other hotels and there is a little shopping area you can walk to. If you are the "party hard" night life kind of person, this resort is probably not for you. We found it to be fun and peaceful at the same time.
I have travelled around the world and found the rooms to be clean and well equipped. The bed was comfortable, the TV has english stations, the mini bar was always stocked.
"Puerto Adventuris is truly a fantasy come true!!!"
We couldn't have had a better time! The resort was BEAUTIFUL, the staff were super friendly, and everyone made us feel like we were stars! Our wedding was perfect, and worry-free. GREAT food, service, and accommodations! We will be coming back again, hopefully every year!
"A beautiful resort w/ plenty of amminities for all ages."
I my opinion the resort was very inviting . All the restaurants were excellent & a very nice adults only area. The resort was just my size, everything was easy to get to ( no golf carts needed here).Great value !
"A perfect getaway"
We were there the week of Dec 2-7 and wish we had booked longer. Our trip down on West jet was uneventful with no issues. Our pickup at the airport was good with no delays. Everyone was very helpful in getting us settled.
Upon arrival at the resort we were greeted in the check in line with champagne. Our luggage was promptly taken to our room while we stayed in the lobby and chatted with Luis. That was the end of anyone bothering us.
Room: we stayed on the dolphin view side that looked over the adult pool. Our room was fantastic with working a/c, a super comfortable bed and no humidity. The bathroom was beautiful and everything was well-equipped. The fridge was stocked but warm, but upon investigation we realized it was unplugged so problem solved. We didn't have any chairs on our oversized balcony, but when our luggage was delivered we mentioned this and 2 chairs arrived within 15 mins. The room was cleaned immaculately every day and although we declined turndown service each evening, the staff were always asking if we wanted it. Fresh towels every day too. The robes and slippers were a great bonus. Clean and comfy.
Food: we ate at 4 out of 5 ala cartes. We missed the Asian as we ran out of nights. We dined at the buffet only 2 mornings for breakfast. The other 3 mornings we ordered room service which was amazing! Our favorite places were the Seaside Grill for the Juicy Lucy burger, fish tacos and salsa and chips, and the Oceana and Portofino. We enjoyed our dinners at these two restaurants, and never had to wait more than 15 mins to be seated. Try the filet mignon at Portofino, you won't be disappointed. The Coco Cafe makes wonderful lattes and cappuccinos and yummy sweet snacks.
Bars: we had drinks at all the bars and the service was great and prompt. Once you go to the adult swim up bar once, they know who you are and what you like to drink. Beach service was good too, very nice to have someone ask you what you would like and bring it to you. There was one lunch time that there was a buffet on the beach and the food was excellent.
Service: we thought the resort had excellent service and yes there is some construction going on, but every resort we have ever been to is always doing something to improve themselves. We found the resort to be small, but that is what we were looking for. Customized service and ability to be able to walk everywhere without having to wait for a shuttle or golf cart to take you to the beach. We never waited for towels and each morning every lounge chair had a fresh towel on it.
Location: the town of Puerto Aventuras is quaint and lovely. We ventured out one afternoon and strolled through the town and along the marina. We watched the dolphins and manatees, saw some huge stingrays and drank some cheap beers along the pier.
Overall we had a perfect getaway with no issues or complaints. We are already thinking of returning next year.
We just returned from a week of great weather, relaxation and great service. We upgraded to the premium room on the marina side and it was well worth the cost. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and if you can't find something you like on the menu or in the buffet then I am guessing there will be no pleasing you. Yes, there is construction going on but it is only during the day and we were still able to have a siesta when it was happening. They are working very hard to upgrade the resort and it did not interfere with our vacation one bit.
The best thing about this resort is that it is small and because of that you get to know some of the staff very well. All the staff including grounds crew, maintenance, consierge, front desk, waiters and bartenders were friendly. If you passed by any of them there was always a friendly HOLA! Our group of 4 connected with 2 very nice staff which are worth mentioning here. Willy the waiter, served us drinks & food by the swing bar beach area and took great care of us all day long. Willy is an extremely hard worker. He walked his butt off on that beach making sure everyone's needs were met. Santiago the bartender in the disco bar has a great sense of humor and we learned alot about him and his family. He suggested many different drinks and was a comedian with his props. Willy and Santiago are hard working men and the resort should be very proud to have them as employees. These guys are what make a trip and resort memorable.
I did the dolphin experience and had a massage at the resort and they were both well worth it.
If I could offer any advice on how to make a trip to Riviera Maya more enjoyable it's that if you have a smile on your face and treat the people with kindness and respect, you will get that back in return tenfold. The people will bend over backwards to make your trip a happy memory. Oh and for all your snorkellers out there my husband found a great snokelling spot in front of the coral on the lagoon side of the beach, just to the right of the swing bar. Just look for all the pelicans dive bombing that area and you will have found the right place.
"Wonderful Family Vacation"
We stayed at Puerto Adventuris during the week of Thanksgiving and had a great time. My daughter (8) loved the Explorer's club and my son (11) enjoyed the freedom of exploring the resort on his own. The resort felt very safe and I was very comfortable letting my children come and go as they desired.
We enjoyed all of the Ala Carte restaurants but our favorite was Oceana. The resort was at capacity when we were there and there was about a 40 minute wait each night for El Patio (Mexican) and Portofino (Italian). On our last night there, we had little time for dinner after packing. The wait staff at Oceana allowed us to have a table at 10:45pm (15 minutes before closing) and did not rush us through our meal--we were very thankful.
We ordered room service almost every day (much prefered room service breakfast over the World Cafe--we were not impressed with the buffet at all) and it was very prompt.
We had a loft room on the 3rd floor, dolphin side, and our kids loved having "their own space" upstairs. We spent most of our time on the beach--kayaking, snorkeling, etc. We did visit Xplor Adventure Park and the Coba ruins while we were there however we could have spent all 7 days at the resort and would have had plenty to do. We wanted to walk to downtown PA to see the dolphins but we couldn't find the time. The building is definitely older and repairs were happening however our room was beautiful and the view from the beach was incredible. Thank you, Rebecca for a great week!!!
"A very good surprise and great memories"
5 of 5 starsReviewed 3 weeks ago
As my wife and I were trying to get away from the cold weather of Chicago we were searching online to see if we could find something affordable and good. The best part of all is that it was easy to find and easy to decide for.
We went through some websites looking for good prices and good reviews. Overall this place looked like what we were looking for: A place to relax, have fun, enjoy nice weather, good location in the Riviera, close to the Mayan ruins, and a more quite place then the opposite.
The place is more for someone who would like to take sometime and enjoy themselves. Maybe more like a family thing and kind of away from the outside world. This place will help you forget about everything and enjoy a true getaway time.
Everyone is very friendly and they give such a good service. They put the undivided attention on you, and the room service is lightning fast. Might not be as fancy as other places, but once you are there you feel like everyone is just waiting for you to open your mouth or make a bodily gesture so they can service your needs and commands.
We loved it, and will definitely come back next year.
"This resort was beyond 5 star!"
My family and I totally enjoyed our recent 8 day visit to Puerto Aventuras. The beach is perfect, pool and spa were wonderful, easy close snorkeling. My family used every amenity of this resort that we could! The facility is very clean, staff is superb, food was wonderful. I highly recommend this facility and can't say enough of our wonderful experience.

"Great family holiday"
I had never stayed at a dreams resort before. I loved that you didn't need reservations for the a la carte restaurants. All but one due to staff was great. I found the staff overall exceptionally friendly. Loved the size of the resort and its location. This was my eighth time to Mexico and this would be one of my favourite resorts.
"St.Louis MO,Delaware,Salisbury Maryland Famlies"
We had a total of 23 family members from 3 states stay from November 16th to the 23rd. We had 8 rooms on various floors and NO ONE had any problems want so ever. Everyone was very impressed by all the staff at this resort and their attention to detail. We have traveled the last 20 years either in Europe, Dominion Republic,Jamaica and many other islands and overall always have had a great experience. Overall food and service was excellent. People need to remember when traveling to other countries and keep a OPEN mine to their country life styles. There is currently renovations going on upgrading several rooms. I would highly recommend this resort.
"5 stars hotel"
This by far the best hotel i have ever been to. the food is great, the services is amazing. I went with my boyfriend for a romantic vacation. it is very peaceful and the beach is beautiful. Many activities on site as well. I would go back tomorrow if i could!
"Just got back from Puerto Aventural"
Great resort. The staff are wonderful. They were very accommodating and service was excellent. Food was great. Oceana, Portofino, Seaside all were great. Portofino was our favorite. Check in and out went smoothly. Pool bar staff were excellent. Alberto, Jessica, Noe, Wily were the best. The chef at Portofino was outstanding and very likeable. General manager of Resort was very helpful with slight problem with hot water problem in room. Relocated us to a great room. Marco with consierage service was outstanding. Our Apple Vacations Rep was also very helpful.. I would recommend this resort to any couple or family wanting to have a great vacation.
Puerto Aventuras is fantastic! My girlfriend and I had a blast there. First off, the staff definitely made the trip! They're friendly, extremely helpful, and most importantly, FUN! Special thanks to 3 specific waiters. Jose at Portofino, Amado, and Juan at the buffet and SeaSide. They all went above and beyond to make dining memorable and fun. Jose even went above and beyond and delivered dessert to our room after work! Noe was our favorite Bartender. The entertainment team of Victor, Jesus and Giovanni are full of energy and hilarious! Finally, our housekeeper Oscar was friendly, fun and did a great job!
The resort is beautiful. The grounds are well kept. The room was clean, roomy, modern and comfortable! The bed was fantastic!
The drinks were top notch, and free flowing! We especially enjoyed the Coffee Bar where we would grab a frap with kaluah!
The food was very good, especially at Portofino! Oceana was a close second. The breakfast buffet was awesome too, and the omelette cook was great! The other food was very good too.
We met a ton of awesome travellers and everyone was friendly. The kids in the Explorers club also seemed to be enjoying themselves, and this would definitely be a place I'd be comfortable bringing my kids to one day! The adults only pool and jacuzzi were a nice change of pace to just relax, and the massages we got at the spa were top notch!
Be sure to take an excursion to see the cinotes, and jump on the collectivo and make your way up to Playa de Carmen!
Two Thumbs up for Puerto Aventuras!
We loved Puerto Adventuras. The beach area was phenomenal, small but very calm, clean and beautiful water! The staff is over the top friendly....Victor, Charlie, Adalberto, Domingo, Marco, Gil, Alfredo, Ceidi, and all of the girls at the Explorer's Club.....all made for an extremely enjoyable vacation!!!
My husband and I honeymooned at his resort for a week and I can't say enough about this place. From the time we got to the resort to the time we left, we never ran into a rude or unhappy staff member. Anything we needed was taken care of right away and everyone always made sure we were happy and had a great time. The staff here really go out of there way for the guests and I was so happy to see that they wanted to make sure we were having a good time and if we needed something that it was taken care of. I can't point out specific staff members but they were all incredible and work so hard at what they do. We were upgraded to preferred club for a very very cheap price because we explained we were on our honeymoon and they went out of their way to make it feel special for us. Next, the food at this resort was INCREDIBLE. I can't say enough about the quality of the food and I was skeptical because of some of the reviews I read before we booked. Don't worry about the food, I'm a very picky eater and I tried so many new things and they were all great (if you can, book preferred club, the chocolate chip cookies they keep on that floor are awesome!). They really know what they're doing! The entertainment team was a lot of fun too. Booking through apple vacations, the resort threw a dinner on the beach for those travelling with Apple. They did a raffle and we just had a lot of fun. What they did offer was great for the size of the resort. Also, having the adult side to the resort was a nice touch. You could take your family but drop the kids off at the explorers club for the day for an adult day at the pool. For the price and the level of service, I would recommend this resort to anyone. We had such a nice time and will most likely stay at another Puerto Adventuris resort in the future.
"Hotel puerto aventuras"
The hotel was wonderfull! We had a great stay. The beach, the restaurants, the pool, the rooms... Couldn't imagine a better stay! Also the staff was very friendly and nice to us. I recomend this hotel to young couples, families and the 'older ones'
"Another Great Place to Vacation!"
We just returned from Mexico! We booked through Apple, got a great price and a beautiful, fulfilled vacation. When we arrived the staff upgraded us immediately to the Dolphin view, no reason, just upgraded! Cannot beat that for a great start! The staff, the food, the room, the beach were super. We went for a tequila tasting with the Head waiter, Obed, at El Patio (the mexican restaurant on site). What a lovely gracious man and a wonderful experience! It is hard to highlight one staff member, since truly everyone was incredible, trying to fulfill our every need.Love, Love, Love the adult pool!!! The dolphinarium with its friendly, helpful folks was totally icing on the cake. The snorkeling was good, lots of sea life right there at the hotel, even saw a small moray eel. Good shopping within a short walk.
"How Can You Complain!"
Six couples , seven days and nights, no complaints! We are a group between age of 50 to 65, love to have fun and socialize. Met and partied with groups from 22 to 60. From Antonio (life guard) to Juan & Sylvia( restaurants) Demer( Room),Aracell, Jesus, Fausto and everybody else A BIG THANK YOU. You all are deserving of more than we can say. Also to Rebecca and staff for letting us play Ipods with on beach after supplying extension cords and at Manatee Swim-Up, even the help enjoyed the change of music, we will be be back. Never in 8 years of travel to Mexico and Puna Cana have we been treated so Magnificently. Thanks Again.
This hotel exceeded my expectations on so many levels. Excellent value. Great Service. Amazing food (The best food I've ever had at an all inclusive). They went out of their way to accommodate us in every way we asked. Extremely friendly staff, from the time of check in to the time of check out. We stayed for 8 days and never once left the property. There were plenty of activities to keep is occupied the entire time. The last few days it rained a lot but there were still lots of options for us to stay busy indoors. The ocean area is great for swimming/wading, as they have a wave break out a ways to allow for shallow, virtually wave free swimming. The "fish pool" was a favorite of my 7 year old son.
"Should have booked more days!"
The experience was amazing and great staff attending to your every need. The entertainment staff made our trip. Giovianni, Jesus, and Victor are outgoing and personable. Always had people on their feet doing some kind of activity. The hotel was small, but extremely accomidating. The rooms are average, but there is so much to do you are not in them much. Overall I would come back again!
